Floor support beam for transport pallet
Corrugated cardboard floor supports for pallets are known in many variations. In most cases, these are square hollow profile frames into which square bars made of corrugated cardboard lamellas that lie close to one another are inserted as fillers. These sockets must be wide enough so that the angular, sharp corners exhibiting lamellar bars can be pushed in at all. However, wide sockets have the disadvantage that when the floor support is heavily loaded, the socket gets even more play due to pressure on the filler body, so that the floor support can no longer withstand the stresses caused by impacts and constant shaking during transport.
Without exception, pallets with such floor supports arrive at their destination after a long period of transport with the supports tipped over.
The purpose of the present invention is now to eliminate the causes of these phenomena. This is to be achieved by creating an elastic pallet support beam which adapts to the weight of the load and is able to continuously adapt to the stresses of transport.
For this purpose, however, only a bar with an elastically movable support body is suitable, which is influenced by the weight of the goods to be transported and stabilizes itself automatically. The elastic mobility of the support body is intended to allow the support beam to be adapted to the weight of the load as well as to allow elastic absorption of the different load pressures, bumps, blows and vibrations that occur during transport, as well as differences in inclination caused by centrifugal forces and additional loads caused by stacking the pallets. A rigid support could never withstand these destructive forces for a long time, unless the support body was pushed into the socket with an absolutely fitting fit, which in practice can only be achieved by wrapping, but never by pushing the support body into the socket.
Given the aggressive nature of the transport stresses described, the supporting body resisting them must be dynamic in its adaptation functions.
The design of the support body of the floor support beam according to the invention is based on the only successful V shape so far. The aim is to eliminate the major disadvantages that have come to light with the previous use of the V-shape by developing the support body structure accordingly. The disadvantages of the known two-legged V-profile support body are the angle leg closure that can be determined again and again in the event of strong impacts, which results in the support body or the floor support beam tipping over. Furthermore, it often happens that the crown edge is forced out of its holder formed by a guide channel on the mount and the supporting body loses its essential hold. Another decisive disadvantage of the pure V-profile as a support body is the pressure position on pallet boxes.
The entire stack pressure is supported by the side walls of the boxes. Since the version of the support body, which is usually formed from a thin web of material, itself has no load-bearing function, the weight is only taken up by the apex edge of the V-support body and supported on its legs. The stacking pressure on the box wall is not supported directly, as the apex of the V-profile is approx. 5 cm away from the box wall.
This results in a significant reduction in stacking performance. A last major disadvantage of the previous V-profile support body is that it makes it easier to tear off the support beam from the transport pallet, in that the apex of the V-profile serves as the fulcrum of a lever effect of its legs that occurs in the event of strong impacts, which has the effect that the support beam can be torn off twice as quickly as a support beam whose support body forms this pivot point through one of its upper side edges.
The present invention relates to a floor support beam for a transport pallet, in which a support body pushed into a square hollow profile version has a V-profile with two right-angled triangular profiles adjoining the ends of the V-profile legs, which when the apex edge of the V-profile is directed upwards Hypotenuses lie against the V profile legs, the longer legs lying vertically against the vertical inner sides of the socket and the shorter legs horizontally supporting the supporting surface of the socket and the angles formed by the shorter legs and by the end legs forming the hypotenuses, together with the end legs and the V -Hold the apex and the V profile in the middle position,
The V-profile with supporting triangular profiles adjoining its leg ends is adapted to the cavity of the square hollow profile surrounding the support body as a socket so that the support body pushed into the socket under elastic pretensioning more closely matches the various load pressures directed from above and from the side Stabilization of its bracing elements provides the necessary resistance.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown, namely show:
1 shows a view of the corrugated cardboard blank used for the production of the support body,
2 to 7 the individual working phases of the support body which can be produced by folding the blank, each in a diagrammatic representation,
8 shows a transport pallet provided with the floor support beams in the diagram,
9 shows the profile of the floor support beam in the unloaded state and FIG. 10 the profile of the floor support beam in the loaded state.
In the illustrated embodiment of the floor support beam, a thin-walled, flexible square hollow body 1 made of corrugated cardboard is provided, which forms the socket of a support body 2-12 pushed into it. The square hollow body 1 is closed by gluing with an overlapping part 1 '. The hollow body wall doubled by the overlapping part 1 'forms the upper side of the hollow body, which in turn is connected to the transport pallet by gluing and additional stapling or sewing. For light goods to be transported, it is sufficient to equip the transport pallet with two floor support beams on the outside, while a third support beam is provided in the center of the pallet for heavier loads, as illustrated in FIG.
The workpiece shown diagrammatically in FIGS. 1 to 7 for the production of the support body forms a single blank from a single or multi-layer corrugated cardboard web. The blank is divided into eight partial areas 2, 2, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7 by a middle fold 3 and three outer folds 4, 8, 9 parallel to this and at different distances from one another on both sides. The two central partial surfaces 2, 2 are used to form the V-profile and the three partial surfaces 5, 6, 7 adjoining the central surfaces 2 on both sides allow the formation of two supporting triangular profiles that conform to the V-profile.
The corrugated cardboard blank is provided on its edges perpendicular to the folds at points corresponding to the folds with wedge cutouts 10 which serve to remove the sharp corners on the end faces of the support body 2-12. A support tab 11 is punched out of the partial surfaces 2 of the corrugated cardboard blank, offset in opposite directions, in such a way that it remains in an articulated connection with one edge with the fold 4. At the fold 4 opposite the support tabs 11, a slot 12 adjacent to the fold is punched out on part 2 which, when the corrugated cardboard blank is folded to form a bar-shaped support body according to FIGS. 7 and 9, the end of a support tab 11 engages as a distancing brace of the ends of the V. -Profile leg is used.
The creation of the support body from the corrugated cardboard blank is best achieved by first creating the triangular profile according to FIGS. 2 to 4 on one side according to FIGS. 2 to 4 by placing the partial surfaces 7, 6, 5 one after the other around the folds 9, 8, 4, then forms the V-profile by angling the partial surfaces 2 around the fold 3 and then also creates the triangular profile on the other side by angling the partial surfaces 7, 6, 5 one after the other around the folds 9, 8, 4 . Immediately before the support body 2-12 is pushed into the socket 1, the ends of the support tabs 11 hinged to the folds 4 are inserted into the slots 12 of the opposite folds 4, so that the ends of the V-profile support legs 2 are spaced apart by the support tabs 11 are.
In the pushed-in position, the support body 2-12 forms a filling body that is resiliently elastic within certain limits.
The thin walls and flexibility of the single-layer corrugated cardboard web of the frame 1 favors the dynamic function of the support body. The sockets 1 attached to the bottom of the pallet object 13 (FIG. 8) can be folded flat after the support body has been removed and allow the pallet object to be brought into a flat, space-saving shape by folding it up. A fine-corrugated corrugated cardboard (B-flute or E-flute) is therefore selected to manufacture the socket 1.
This corrugated cardboard is expediently impregnated as well as possible. Sockets made from thicker types of corrugated cardboard are not flexible enough and can only be folded with great difficulty and with great difficulty.
The support body mounts 1 are attached to the pallet objects in any known manner, in particular by gluing with additional stapling, the doubling of the upper mount wall formed by the overlap 1 'having a particularly favorable effect. Another very interesting type of attachment is the sewing or additional sewing of the frames onto the pallet, which is also made of corrugated cardboard. The support body mount in the form of a square hollow body allows it to be attached at the most statically favorable location, namely on the outer edges of the pallet, in particular the pallet boxes. Thus, the upsetting pressure mainly on the box walls can be supported directly on the support triangles 5, 6, 7, in particular via the vertical profile legs 5 against the floor.
Another advantage of this arrangement is that the support beams fastened flush to the outer edges of the pallet enable compliance with the existing pallet standards so that even relatively small containers can still be designed as pallets. Another advantage of the design of the support body sockets as square hollow bodies is that the mechanical fastening of the sockets to the pallet is made considerably easier because the partial socket surface adjacent to the overlapping part 1 'determines the exact distance of the clear opening, so that the corrugated cardboard blanks are automatically prefabricated can be.
The supporting body 212 to be pushed into the socket 1, which has a self-retaining, bracing and reinforcing V-profile in its abutment, is movable in shape in the apex edge of the V-profile on which it is based. This movable angled vertex forms the central pressure axis of the support body, which allows it to provide a spread corresponding to the pressure conditions and thus bracing as a continuous, adapting performance. This stabilization is achieved by lowering the pressure axis under the weight of the solution, the apex angle of the V-profile 2 opening slightly and the angle legs of the V-profile 2, which are flexibly held in the mount 1, are spread apart. The bracing achieved in this way increases dynamically with increasing weight.
In order for this pressure axis to function properly, it is necessary that it is held in a stable manner even in its central position. This is achieved by the two supporting triangles 5, 6, 7 that form the continuation of the V-profile and nestle with it. These are supported with their right angle against the upper hollow beam edges. This additional bracing of the V-profile 2 by the support triangles 5, 6, 7 resting against it causes a significant increase in the load-bearing capacity of the support body and its functions. The vertical legs 5 of the support triangles form the direct support option for the stack pressure in the case of pallet boxes.
The two upper horizontal legs 6 of the support triangles 5, 6, 7 form with their ends facing each other, forming the folds 9, a guide channel for the angular apex 3 of the V-profile 2, which serves as the pressure axis, and, especially under high loads, cause a slight pivoting around the folds 8 as axes of rotation (Fig. 10) an actual blocking of the V-profile legs 2 by causing an enlargement of the angle formed by the legs 6, 7 when they are pressed in. The legs 7 of the supporting triangular profiles 5, 6, 7 which lie directly against the V profile legs also act as movable, dynamic elements and, together with the vertical legs 5, as a type of sliding wedge.
At high load pressures, these are pressed down on the upper short horizontal legs 6 and cause the two lower, acute support angles to be wedged, each formed from a V-profile leg 2 and the vertical leg 5 of the support triangles. The sliding legs 7 of the support triangles 5, 6, 7 resting against the V-profile legs 2 are fully effective. These have a tensing effect like a wedge and only become fully stable in this position. As a result, the sliding legs 7 take up part of the acting load and thus additionally relieve and strengthen the entire support system.
The support tabs 11 resting on the base part of the mount 1 serve to prevent the V-profile apex angle from closing in the event of the most severe impacts, although the V-profile legs can still be slightly spread apart.
The support body 2-12 described thus represents a support system that causes optimal vertical and cross bracing under the heaviest loads, not least because, in addition to the functions already described, the angular apex of the V-profile 2 is located in the double corrugated cardboard of the upper wall of the Socket 1 impresses and thus finds additional support in the central position. Thanks to the vertical legs 5 of the support triangles, a tearing effect of the support beam from the bottom of the pallet box 13 can only have an effect via the two upper edges 8 as lever axes of rotation, which excludes an effective lever effect with the selected masses.
The support body 2-12 described has punched cut squeeze folds or the cut angled folds, which allow the corrugated cardboard blank to be bent slightly in the folds 3, 4, 8, 9 and produce an angle connection in the closed folds to increase stability. The fold 3 of the V-profile 2 forms a counter-fold to the other folds 4, 8, 9 and can also be perforated. By means of the wedge cutouts 10 on the front edges of the corrugated cardboard blank, the sharp corners of the support body are eliminated according to FIG. 7, so that it can be pushed easily and tightly into the holder 1. The corrugated cardboard of the support body 2-12 is advantageously impregnated, fully impregnated, single or multi-layer and of the highest quality.
The support body 2-12 can, as FIG. 8 shows, serve to connect two or more socket segments 1, which enables locks and couplings.
All pallet supports that have existed to date, with the exception of the simple V-shape, are supported by rigid support elements. The support beam described enables elastic adaptation to the transport loads that are constantly acting on it. The V-profile located in the support beam ensures that the function automatically adapts to all transport influences.
