Arrangement for releasably attaching a lamp frame to the light strip of a fluorescent lamp
Modern fluorescent lights usually consist of a light strip that is either attached to the ceiling or to an installation duct. The auxiliary devices required for operating the fluorescent lamp, together with the wiring, are arranged in this light strip, while the bases for the fluorescent lamp or lamps are attached to the ends. With many lights, a frame for inserting a grid or a reflector is also attached to the light side. These parts were previously screwed or riveted to the fixture of the lamp. A major disadvantage of this type of connection is that the light bar and frame or
Reflector form a unit that can only be separated with difficulty or not at all for repairs, transport or cleaning. It has therefore already been proposed to releasably connect the light strip and frame or reflector with resilient connecting members. Such a connecting element is designed as a U-shaped bracket, the legs of which have grooves and protruding lugs, the grooves being provided to snap into corresponding openings in the installation channel and the lugs being provided as supports for the frame or reflector. These connecting organs have proven particularly useful for lights. Well proven with 40W fluorescent lamps.
In contrast, the high-power fluorescent lamps of, for example, 215 W, which are 2.5 m long, i.e. twice as long as 40 watt lamps, and whose associated frames and grids or reflectors are relatively wider and heavier, are clearly too weak.
It is therefore the aim of the present invention to provide an arrangement for releasably attaching a frame to the light bar of a fluorescent lamp by means of a connecting element, the lamp frame and the light bar having at least in the region of the connecting element surfaces suitable for placing against one another and suitable recesses for inserting the connecting element, which arrangement is characterized in that the connecting element has a base plate provided for carrying a retaining web of the frame and on opposite sides in the same direction and practically at right angles from the base plate protruding, at their free ends provided with projections support arms, of which at least one is elastically bendable , and thereby,
that the distance between the two support arms and the clear width of a recess or the distance between two recesses are coordinated so that the support arms can be inserted into or into the recesses of the light strip and their projections rest on the corresponding edges of the recess or the recesses.
With this new arrangement it is possible to securely attach even relatively heavy and large frames or reflectors to the light strip. A particular advantage of this arrangement is that the frame or reflector can only be placed on a building ceiling after the light bar has been attached.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with the aid of the figures using a few exemplary embodiments.
FIGS. 1 and 2 show a first and a second embodiment of the new connecting element.
Fig. 3 shows a section through the new arrangement, for which a connecting element according to FIG. 1 is used.
FIG. 4 shows a plan view of the arrangement according to FIG. 3.
FIG. 5 shows a section through the new arrangement in which a connecting element according to FIG. 2 is used.
The connecting element 10 shown in Fig. 1 includes a base plate 11 and on two opposite sides of this base plate each have a support arm 12 and 13. The two support arms are practically at right angles and in the same direction from the base plate.
At the free end of each support arm a projection 14 or 15 is provided, both of which protrude beyond the surface of the base plate. The length of the one support arm 12 corresponds to the associated side length of the base plate, while the length of the other support arm 13 is only about a quarter of the side length of the base plate. By shortening this other support arm 13, greater flexibility is achieved. Furthermore, two cylindrical bolts 16 and 17 used as spacers are arranged adjacent to the base plate 11 and the other support arm 13 and protrude from the base plate in the same direction as the support arms. These bolts limit the holding web fastened to the frame (not shown) for inserting, so that the other support arm can be bent freely.
The entire connecting element is preferably designed as a plastic molded part.
The connecting element 20 shown in FIG. 2, like the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, contains a base plate 21 and two support arms 22 and 23. In these support arms, the projections 24 and 25 arranged at the free ends protrude from the base plate. The connecting element 20 does not contain any spacers.
FIG. 3 shows, partially in section, one end of a frame which is releasably attached to an installation channel by means of the connecting element shown in FIG. 1. For a better understanding, the same arrangement is shown in plan view in FIG.
The frame 30 is designed as a downwardly open, elongated, and a rectangular cross-section having formwork and contains a front plate 31, two side walls 32 and 33 and a cover plate 34. The cover plate has two rectangular, parallel openings 35 and 36, which limit a holding web 37 lying therebetween. The light strip 40 is designed as an upwardly open, elongated container with a rectangular cross section, with a front plate 41, two side walls 42 and 43 and a base plate 44. The base plate has two rectangular recesses 45.
The frame 30 is releasably fastened to the light strip 40 with the connecting element 10. The holding web 37 of the frame rests on the base plate 11 of the connecting element and is guided laterally by the inner wall of the one support arm 12 and by the cylindrical bolts 16 and 17. The two support arms 12 and 13 engage through the two openings 35 and 36 in the corner plate 34 of the frame through the recess 45 and 45a in the base plate 44 of the light strip, and the projections 14 and 15 rest on the adjacent edges of the base plate.
It is also possible to design the lamp frame only as a frame that has front panels 31 and side walls 32, 33, but no cover panel. In such lamp frames, the retaining web 37 is attached to the two side walls.
When assembling this arrangement, the frame is advantageously first held from below to the light strips, which are always fastened at the top, with the holding web 37 lying under the recess 45 and 45a, and then the support arm 12 of the connecting element is pushed through the recess 45 until the projection 14 opens the base plate 44 rests.
The connecting element is then pivoted about the protrusion 14 resting on it until the protrusion 15 is guided through the recess 45a and rests on the corresponding edge of the base plate 44. Since the width of the recess 45 to 45a is only slightly greater than the outer distance between the two support arms of the connecting element, it goes without saying that the support arm 13 must be bent in the direction of arrow 49 when passing through the recess 45.
It is further understood that two arrangements adjacent to the two ends of the frame or channel must be used to attach a frame to a light strip, with which then, because of the relatively large contact surface of the projections 14 and 15 on the corresponding edges of the base plate 44, also relatively heavy frames can be securely attached.
The arrangement shown in FIG. 5 largely corresponds to the arrangement according to FIG. 3, with the difference that a connecting element 201 according to FIG. 2 is used to fasten the frame 30 'to the light strip 40'. In order to clamp the connecting element 20 to the light strip, two slot-like openings 50 and 51 are provided in the channel, which laterally delimit a support web 52. The width of the support bar corresponds practically to the clear distance between the two support arms of the connecting element. When assembling this arrangement, the one support arm of the connecting element must be bent in the direction indicated by the arrow 53.
Since this bending is not hindered by other neighboring components, no special stops are required in this embodiment, guide form of the connecting element, and the support arms can rest against the support web of the frame and the support web of the light strip.
