Drucke besitzen ausgezeichnete Allgemeinechtheiten.

Process for the preparation of naphthoylene-benzimidazoles
The invention relates to a process for the production of alkoyleneamino-substituted naphthoylenebenzimidazoles, which are outstandingly suitable for dyeing or printing fibers or fiber material made from linear, aromatic polyesters.
The new compounds correspond to the formula
EMI1.1
where R is an aliphatic radical which, like nuclei A and B, can carry further substituents, with the exception of sulfonic acid groups.
Preferred aliphatic radicals are alkyl radicals with 2, 3 or 4 carbon atoms, it being emphasized that radicals with up to about 20 carbon atoms can also be considered. Preferred substituents are e.g. Halogen atoms, especially chlorine or bromine atoms, cyano, rhodium, alkoxy, acyl, acyloxy or acylamino groups.
Acyl groups include, for. B. radicals of the formulas R1-X- or R, -Y- to be understood; therein Rt mean a hydrocarbon radical which z. B. can carry the above-mentioned substituents and / or contain heteroatoms, preferably an alkyl or phenyl radical, X is a radical of the formula -O-CO- or -SO2-, R2 is a hydrogen atom or R, Y is a radical of the formula - CO-, -NR3-CO- or -NR3- SO2- and R3 is a hydrogen atom or R.
The compounds of the formula (I) are prepared by reacting an amine of the formula
EMI1.2
with a compound of the formula
R-COOH or one of its functional derivatives.
Preferred functional derivatives of carboxylic acids of the formula (III) are the acid halides, in particular the bromine derivatives or chlorides, but the esters of low molecular weight alcohols and the anhydrides can also be used.
The reaction with acid halides preferably takes place in inert solvents, e.g. B. chlorobenzenes, nitrobenzene or xylenes, at temperatures between about 80 and 1800 C instead. It can be advantageous to carry out the reaction in the presence of acid-binding agents, e.g. B.
Alkali carbonates, alkali bicarbonates or alkali acetates. If the amines of the formula (II) are reacted with anhydrides, solvents or diluents can also be dispensed with.
It is advantageous to convert the dyes into dye preparations in a known manner before they are used. To do this, they are comminuted until the average particle size is about 0.01 to 10 microns and in particular about 0.1 to 5 microns.
The comminution can take place in the presence of dispersants and / or fillers. For example, the dried dye is ground with a dispersant, optionally in the presence of fillers, or kneaded in paste form with a dispersant and then dried in vacuo or by atomization. With the preparations obtained in this way, after more or less water has been added, dyeing, padding, padding or printing can be done in what is known as a long or short liquor.
When dyeing in a long liquor, up to about 100 g of dye per liter are generally used, when padding up to about 150 g per liter, preferably 0.1 to 100 g per liter, and when printing up to about 150 g per kilogram of printing paste . The liquor ratio can be chosen within wide limits, between about 1: 3 and 1: 200, preferably between 1: 3 and 1:80.
The dyes are absorbed very well from aqueous suspension on molded bodies made of fully synthetic or semi-synthetic high molecular weight substances. They are particularly suitable for dyeing, padding or printing fibers, threads or fleeces, woven or knitted fabrics made from linear, aromatic polyesters, and from cellulose 21/2 acetate or cellulose triacetate.
Particularly valuable dyeings are obtained on linear, aromatic polyesters. These are generally polycondensation products from terephthalic acid and glycols, especially sithylene glycol.
It is colored according to methods known per se. Polyester fibers can be dyed in the presence of carriers at temperatures between about 800 and 125 ° C. or in the absence of carriers under pressure at about 1000 to 140 ° C. by the exhaust process. They can also be padded, padded or printed with the aqueous dispersions of the dyes and the impregnation obtained can be fixed at about 1400 to 230.degree. B. with the help of steam or air. In the particularly favorable temperature range between 1800 and 2200 C, the dyes quickly diffuse into the polyester fiber and do not sublime again, even if these high temperatures are allowed to act for a longer period of time.
This avoids annoying soiling of the dyeing equipment. Cellulose 21/2 acetate is preferably dyed between about 650 and 85 ° C. and cellulose triacetate at temperatures up to about 1150 C. The most favorable pH range is between 2 and 9 and especially between 4 and 8. Usually the usual dispersants are used which are preferably anionic or non-ionic and can also be used in a mixture with one another.About 0.5 g of dispersant per liter of dye preparation is often sufficient, but larger amounts, e.g. up to about 3 g per liter, can also be used.
Known anionic dispersants which are suitable for the process are, for example, condensation points of naphthalenesulfonic acids and formaldehyde, especially dinaphthylmethane disulfonates, esters of sulfonated succinic acid, Turkish red oil and alkali salts of sulfuric acid esters of fatty alcohols, e.g. B. sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cetyl sulfate, sulfite cellulose liquor or their alkali salts, soaps or alkali sulfates of monoglycerides of fatty acids. Examples of known and particularly suitable nonionic dispersants are addition products of about 3-40 mol of ethylene oxide with alkylphenols, fatty alcohols or fatty amines and their neutral sulfuric acid esters.
When padding and printing you will use the usual thickeners, such. B. modified or unmodified natural products, such as alginates, British gum, gum arabic, crystal gum, locust bean gum, tragacanth, carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, starch or synthetic products such as polyacrylamides or polyvinyl alcohols.
The dyeings and prints obtained have excellent all-round fastness properties. In particular, the light, chlorine, ozone, smoke, blood, detergent, lubricant and solvent fastness, the thermal fixation and pleating fastness as well as the hydrolysis and reduction resistance are to be emphasized. - The reserve of wool and cotton is good. No catalytic fading is observed in combination with blue dyes. The dyes are also resistant to the effects of the known permanent press processes.
The parts mentioned in the following examples are parts by weight, the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
example 1
5 parts of a mixture of 5-aminonaphthoylenebenzimidazole and 6-aminonaphthoylenebenzimidazole are stirred in 30 parts of butyric anhydride for three hours at 120-130 ". After cooling, it is filtered, washed with methanol and dried. A loose, bright yellow crystal powder is obtained.
Example 2
5 parts of a mixture of 5-aminonaphthoylenebenzimidazole and 6-aminonaphthoylenebenzimidazole are heated to 1,250 in 50 ml of chlorobenzene with the addition of 2.4 parts of dimethylaniline. A mixture of 2.6 parts of β-chloropropionic acid chloride and 10 parts of chlorobenzene is then slowly added and the mixture is refluxed for two hours. After cooling, the residue is filtered off, washed with methanol, boiled in 100 parts of water, filtered off again and dried. A loose, brownish-yellow crystal powder is obtained.
Dyeing prescription
100 parts of polyester fabric are dyed with 5.4 parts of a 70% liquid preparation of the dye obtained in Example 1 by the carrier process.
With a very good dye yield, a brilliant greenish yellow dyeing with excellent fastness properties is obtained.
The following table lists further dyes which can be prepared according to the invention and which are characterized by the substituent R and their hue on polyester fabric.
