Verdickungsmittel verwenden, z.

Process for the preparation of monoazo dyes The invention relates to a process for the preparation of monoazo dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0004
In this formula, each of the radicals R1 and R2 denote a hydrogen or halogen atom, a cyano, nitro, alkyl or alkoxy group, an organic carbonyl =, sulfonyl,
Carbonylamino or sulfonylamino radical or a carboxylic acid ester, carboxamide or sulfonic acid amide group, R3 a halogen atom, a cyano, nitro, alkyl or alkoxy group, an organic carbonyl, sulfonyl, carbonylamino or sulfonylamino radical or a carboxylic acid ester,
Carboxamide or sulfonic acid amide group, R4 an alkyl group, R5 and R5 optionally substituted hydrocarbon radicals, R7 a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group and Y a -CO-, -C00- or -SO2 group,
Of the groups of substituents mentioned, chlorine and bromine atoms and alkyl groups with 1 to 4 and especially with 1 to 2 carbon atoms and the corresponding alkoxy, alkylcarbonyl, alkylcarbonylamino, alkylsulfonyl and alkyloxycarbonyl groups are particularly preferred.
The carboxylic acid and sulfonic acid amide groups. can be mono- or disubstituted, where as substituents z. B.
Alkyl or aryl radicals, in particular low molecular weight alkyl radicals and phenyl radicals, which can be further substituted, as well as cycloalkyl radicals or heteroyclic radicals are suitable. Preferred hydrocarbon radicals R5 and R6 are low molecular weight alkyl groups, in particular with 2 carbon atoms, which z.
B. can be substituted by cyano, hydroxy, carboxylic acid ester or acyl groups. The other alkyl groups can also be substituted, preferably by fluorine, chlorine or bromine atoms. All alkyl radicals can be straight-chain or branched and saturated or unsaturated.
Dyestuffs of the formula (I) in which R1 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or a cyano, nitro, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylsulfonyl, carboxylic ester, carboxamide or sulfonic acid amide group and R2 is a hydrogen atom have particularly good properties or a cyano, nitro, alkyl sulfonyl,
Carboxamide or sulfonic acid amide group, R3, a halogen atom, a cyano, nitro, alkyl or alkoxy group, an organic carbonyl, sulfonyl, carbonylamino or sulfonylamino group or a carboxylic acid ester, carboxamide or sulfonic acid amide group,
R4 is an alkyl group, R5 and R6 are optionally substituted hydrocarbon radicals, R7 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group and Y is a -CO-, -C00- or -SO2 group.
To prepare the new dyes of the formula (1), an amine of the formula is diazotized
EMI0001.0128
and couples with a compound of the formula
EMI0002.0001
The coupling is generally carried out in an acidic, optionally buffered, medium in the cold, for example at temperatures between 0 and 5 C, before.
The dyes obtained in this way are particularly advantageously converted into dye preparations before they are used. For this purpose, they can be comminuted so that their average particle size is between about 0.01 and 10 microns and in particular between about 0.1 and 5 microns. The comminution can take place in the presence of dispersants and / or fillers.
For example, the dried dye is ground with a dispersant, optionally in the presence of fillers, or kneaded in paste form with a dispersant and then dried in vacuo or by atomization. With the preparations obtained in this way you can, after adding more or less water, dye or pad or print in a so-called long or short liquor. When dyeing in a long liquor, you generally use up to about 20 g of dye per liter at.
Dyeing in a short liquor up to about 80 g per liter, when padding up to about 150 g per liter and when printing up to about 150 g per kilogram of printing paste. The liquor ratio can be chosen within wide limits, z. B. between about 1: 3 and 1: 200, preferably between 1: 3 and 1:80.
The dyes, which are sparingly soluble to insoluble in water, are extremely well absorbed from aqueous suspension on molded articles made of fully synthetic or semi-synthetic high molecular weight substances.
They are particularly suitable for dyeing, padding or printing fibers, threads or nonwovens, woven or knitted fabrics made from linear aromatic polyesters and from cellulose 21/2 acetate or cellulose triacetate. Synthetic polyamides, polyolefins, acrylonitrile polymerisation products and polyvinyl compounds can also be colored with them. Particularly valuable dyeings are obtained on linear, aromatic polyesters.
These are generally polycondensation products from terephthalic acid and glycols, especially ethylene glycol, and z. B. under the protected names Terylene, Diolen or Dacron in the trade. But also similar products, such as B. Kodel, which is said to be a condensation product of terephthalic acid and 1,4-bis (hydroxymethyl) hexahydrobenzene; can be colored in this way.
The new dyes are also valuable pigment dyes for coloring masses of synthetic materials, rubber; natural or synthetic resins or solutions of these substances and can be used for printing films, foils, textiles made of natural fibers, leather or paper.
It is colored according to methods known per se. Polyester fibers can be dyed in the presence of carriers at temperatures between about 80 and 125 C or in the absence of carriers under pressure at about 100 to 140 C by the exhaust process. They can also be padded or printed with the aqueous dispersions of the new dyes and the impregnation obtained can be fixed at about 140 to 230 ° C., e.g.
B. with the help of steam, contact heat or hot air. In the particularly favorable temperature range between 180 and 200 C, the dyes quickly diffuse into the polyester fiber and do not sublime again, even if these high temperatures are allowed to act for a longer period of time. This avoids annoying soiling of the dyeing equipment. Cellulose 21/2 acetate is preferably dyed between about 65 and 85 C and cellulose triacetate at temperatures up to 115 C. The most favorable pH range is between 2 and 9 and especially between 4 and B.
Usually the usual dispersants are added, which are preferably anionic or nonionic and can also be used as a mixture with one another. About 0.5 g of dispersant per liter of dye preparation is often sufficient, but larger amounts, e.g. B. up to about 3 g per liter can be used. Quantities in excess of 5 g per liter. usually result in no further advantage.
Known anionic dispersants which are suitable for the process are, for example, condensation products of naphthalenesulfonic acids and formaldehyde, especially dinaphthylmethane disulfonates, esters of sulfonated succinic acid, Turkish red oil and alkali salts of sulfuric acid esters of fatty alcohols, e.g.
B. sodium lauryl sulphate or sodium cetyl sulphate, sulphite cellulose waste liquor or their alkali salts, soaps or alkali sulphates of monoglycerides of fatty acids.
Examples of well-known and particularly suitable non-ionic dispersants are addition products of about 3-40 mol of ethylene oxide with alkylphenols, fatty alcohols or fatty amines and their neutral sulfuric acid esters.
When padding and printing one becomes the usual. Use thickeners, e.g. B. modified or unmodified natural products, for example alginates, British gum, gum arabic, crystal gum, locust bean gum, tragacanth, carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, starch or synthetic products,
for example polyacrylamides or polyvinyl alcohols.
The colorations obtained are extremely genuine, e.g. B. excellent thermofixing, subliming, pleating, smoke gas, dyeing, dry cleaning, chlorine and wet fast, z. B. water, wash and perspiration resistant. The etchability and reserve of natural fibers, especially wool and cotton, are good. The lightfastness is excellent, even in light shades, so that the new dyes are also very suitable as fashion shades.
The dyes are resistant to overcooking and reduction at temperatures up to at least 220 C and especially at 80 to 140 C.
This resistance is not adversely affected neither by the liquor ratio nor by the presence of dyeing agents.
The parts mentioned in the examples are parts by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 6.9 parts of finely divided sodium nitrite are slowly added to 15.0 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid at 60-70 with stirring. The mixture is stirred for a further 10 minutes at 60, cooled to 0 and 20.7 parts of 1-amino-2,5-dichloro-4-nitro-benzene are added at 0.
The mixture is stirred for 2 hours and the resulting diazonium salt solution is poured into a cold mixture of 24.2 parts of 1 N, N-diethylamino-3-methyl-sulfonylamino-benzene, 20 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid, 100 parts of ice and 10 parts of aminosulfonic acid. The coupling is completed at 0 in an acidic medium, which may be buffered if necessary. The dye obtained is filtered off, washed free of acid and dried.
After crystallizing once from a mixture of 1 part acetone and 1 part dioxane, it melts at 208. Synthetic fibers are dyed in brilliant, red shades with excellent fastness properties.
Example 2 6.9 parts of finely divided sodium nitrite are added in small portions to 120 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid at 670, the mixture is stirred until solution occurs, cooled to 15 and 100 parts of a mixture are added from 85 parts of glacial acetic acid and 15 parts of propionic acid and then 14.3 parts of 1-amino-2,5-dicyan benzene.
The mixture is stirred for 2 hours and the resulting diazonium salt solution is poured into a cold mixture of 24.2 parts of 1-N, N-diethylamino-3-methylsulfonylamino-benzene, 20 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid, 150 parts of ice and 10 parts of aminosulfonic acid. The coupling is completed in an acidic medium. The precipitated dye is filtered off, washed acid-free and dried. It can be recrystallized from alcohol / dimethylformamide and melts at 227. It dyes synthetic fibers in brilliant red shades with very good fastness properties.
Example 3 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite are slowly added to 150 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid at 60-70 with stirring. The mixture is then stirred for a further 10 minutes and 20.5 parts of 1-amino-2-chloro-5-methylsulfonylbenzene are added at 60. The mixture is stirred at 60 for 1 hour and then cooled to 0.
The resulting diazonium salt solution is poured into a cold mixture of 24 parts of 1-chloro-acetyl @amino-3-N, N-diethylamino-benzene, 100 parts of glacial acetic acid, 200 parts of ice and 10 parts of aminosulfonic acid. The coupling is carried out to the end in acidic, if necessary buffered, medium. The dyestuff obtained is filtered off with suction, washed acid-free with water and dried and can be recrystallized from a mixture of 9 parts of alcohol and 7 parts of acetone.
It melts at 154-155 and dyes synthetic fibers in brilliant orange tones with excellent fastness properties.
Example 4 6.9 parts of finely divided sodium nitrite are slowly added to 120 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid at 60-70 degrees with stirring. The mixture is stirred for a further 10 minutes at 60, cooled to 0 and, at 0, 20.9 parts of dimethyl aminoterephthalate are added.
The mixture is stirred for 3 hours and the resulting diazonium salt solution is poured into a mixture of 23.6 parts of 1-ethoxycarbonylamino-3 N, N-diethylamino-benzene, 100 parts of glacial acetic acid, 150 parts of ice and 10 parts. Aminosulfonic acid. The coupling is completed in an acidic, optionally buffered, medium. The precipitated dye is filtered off, washed free of acid,
