Steel holder clamping head for lathes In the main patent, a steel holder clamping head for lathes is described, which has two side surfaces running at an angle to each other, each of which has at least one dovetail guide for fastening removable and replaceable steel holders, as well as a wedge-shaped clamping bolt each arranged in a groove one side surface rests against the base surface of the groove, while the other side surface corresponds to the side surface of the clamping head provided with the dovetail guide and which is characterized by
that each tension bolt can be moved and locked in the groove independently of the other tension bolt by a separate actuating member assigned to it. The fact that there are two independent clamping bars makes it possible to securely clamp two turning tools at the same time.
It has now been found that by changing the design of the clamping head or the clamping bar and its arrangement in the clamping head, an even more perfect fastening of the steel holder on the clamping head can be achieved. In the embodiment shown and protected in the main patent, the wedge-shaped clamping bar extends with its front edge to the edge of the swallow tail guide, which can be seen as the front edge, since the groove in which the clamping bar is guided extends to the front edge of the swallow's tail. As a result, this edge is interrupted or weakened and especially narrow steel brackets do not offer an absolutely perfect system.
Furthermore, the angle enclosed by the two side surfaces of the clamping bar is very small, so that the train that the dovetail flank of the clamping bar exerts on the dovetail groove of the steel holder in the clamped state runs almost parallel to the side surface of the clamping head. As a result, a steel holder with the lateral inner surfaces of its dovetail groove is now pressed against the outer flanks of the dovetail guide of the clamping head on the one hand and the clamping bolt on the other. There is, however, no positive contact between the steel holder and the side surface of the clamping head, so that the steel holder is secured only insufficiently and vibrations cannot be avoided.
A further development of the invention seeks to remedy these disadvantages, which is characterized in that the base of the groove for guiding each clamping bolt in the clamping head body and the direction of movement of the clamping bolt with the associated side surface of the clamping head body includes such a large angle that the clamping bolt on a Steel holder exerts a train against this side surface of the Spannkopfkör pers, whereby the steel holder is pressed against this side surface. This angle should expediently be so large that the direction of movement of the clamping bolt is at least approximately perpendicular to the rear dovetail flanks of the clamping head body.
Furthermore, the groove in which the clamping bolt is guided in the clamping head ends advantageously not at the front dovetail edge of the clamping head body, but at a distance therefrom, so that this edge is continuous and the steel holder offers an uninterrupted, undiminished system.
Both a clamping eccentric and a clamping screw can be used as the actuating element for the clamping bolt. The latter ends advantageously in a stepped pin which absorbs the lateral pressures occurring during tensioning, so that the screw thread is not laterally loaded. Be the actuating member can be arranged inclined in the clamping head body in order to facilitate the handling or the attachment of the wrench. This is particularly desirable when other regulating elements or levers are also provided on the clamping head body.
An embodiment of the improved steel holder clamping head is explained below with reference to the drawing. 1 shows a plan view of the clamping head and FIG. 2 shows a side elevation, seen in the direction of the arrow X in FIG. 1. In these figures, 1 is the body of the clamping head, the two side surfaces 2 and 3 of which enclose an angle with one another, which is advantageously 60, 75 or 90, but can also have a different size.
The side surfaces 2, 3 each have at least one dovetail guide 4 and 5, which is advantageously supplemented by an additional guide (i, 7 each, so that steel holders with a narrower or wider dovetail groove can be used as required.
The body 1 of the clamping head has two grooves, the base surfaces 8 and 9 of which enclose angles a with the side surfaces 2, 3 serving as a support for the steel holder, which are advantageously chosen so that the base surfaces 8, 9 are at least approximately perpendicular to the rear flanks 10, 11 of the dovetail 4, 5 and the rear flanks 12, 13 of the Zusatzfüh ments 6, 7 run. The bases 8, 9 of the guide grooves are also arranged so that they end at a distance from the front edges 14, 15 of the dovetail guides 4, 5, so that these front edges have an unbroken line.
In the guide grooves are the clamping bars 16, 17, which are displaceable along the base surfaces 8, 9 of the grooves and can be moved by the actuators 18, 19. The latter are expediently inserted at an angle in the clamping body 1, so that socket wrenches 20, which are to be placed on their heads 21, 22, can also be easily attached when any control organs or levers on the surface of the clamping head body 1 provide access to the Actuators 18, 19 or their heads 21, 22 make it more difficult.
If a steel holder 23, which is shown with dash-dotted lines, and was pushed from above over the dovetail guide, is to be attached, it is sufficient to rotate the actuator 18 so that the clamping bolt 16 issued a movement in the direction of arrow Y. becomes. Since the side surface of the clamping bar 16 has dovetail guides 24, 25, which correspond exactly to the Schwalbenschwanzfüh ments 4, 6 of the clamping head body 1, when the clamping bar 16 is moved in the direction of arrow Y, the flank 26 of the dovetail guide 25 exercises on the corresponding inner surface of the Dovetail groove of the steel holder 23 exerts a pressure which also acts in the direction of arrow Y.
Since on the one hand the dovetail groove of the steel holder 23 is pressed against the flank 27 of the Schwalbenschwan zes 4, and on the other hand the base 28 of the dovetail groove of the steel holder 23 is brought into firm contact with the side surface or contact surface 2 of the clamping head body 1. When the actuator 18 is sufficiently tightened, the steel holder 23 is in a perfect form-fitting connection with the flank 27 of the dovetail 4, with its front edge 14, with the side surface 2 of the clamping head 1 and with the flank 26 of the clamping strap 16 .
The effect would be the same if, instead of the steel holder 23 with a wide dovetail groove, a steel holder were used whose dovetail groove corresponds to the width of the dovetail 4. In this case, the flank 29 of the clamping bolt 16 would act on the dovetail groove of the steel holder in the direction of arrow Y and the steel holder in the same way for firm contact with the flank 27 and the edge 14 of the dovetail 4 and the side surface 2 of the clamping head body 1 bring.
The hole 30 provided for the fastening bolt in the clamping head body by 1 is not in the center of the clamping head, but as close as possible to the front end of the clamping head body 1 or its front edges 14, 15. This causes the clamping head to be set back against the Oberschlit th of the lathe, which on the one hand for the vibration-free attachment of the steel holder and on the other hand for their adjustment is advantageous.
