Pressluftbohrmaschine
Compressed air drill
For bone surgical drilling work, compressed air drills are usually used, of which the most diverse designs with air turbine and reduction gear are known. There are also those with a pistol grip and a spring-loaded trigger which can be actuated by a finger or a middle finger and causes the drill spindle to rotate in the actuated state. A press air drill of this type is also known which has a switch button for preselecting the direction of rotation! having.
This button is arranged in such a way that it cannot be operated with the fingers of the hand holding the machine, so that the second hand must always be used, which is known from the industry for conventional air drills. Since in bone surgery work, in contrast to work in the workshop, always the second hand of turning with the drill Arbei is required for other activities, the previously known embodiment of compressed air drills described above has not fully proven.
The compressed air drill according to the invention now remedies this deficiency; it also has a pistol grip and a spring-loaded trigger which can be actuated by the index or middle finger and causes the drill spindle to rotate in the actuated state and is characterized in that in the immediate vicinity of this trigger a second, actuatable by the middle finger or the index finger, also spring-loaded trigger is arranged, which is used to select the direction of rotation of the drilling spindle.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawing. In this drawing, FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the entire drilling machine, FIG. 2 shows a cross section along the line II-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a cross section along the line IIIIII of FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 shows a cross section along the line IV-IV of FIG.
The rotating parts are accommodated in the upper part of the housing 1, that is to say the air turbine 14, the reduction gear formed by two planetary gears 2, 3 and the drive shaft 4 for the drilling spindle. The connection openings for the compressed air supply and discharge lines are accommodated in the pistol grip 2, specifically the connection opening for the compressed air supply line is designated with 5 and that for the compressed air discharge line with 6.
From the connection opening for the compressed air supply line, the air path 9 leads via an inlet valve 7, which can be opened by a lever 8 designed as a slide piece, which can be operated by means of the middle finger, to the switchover slide 10 with the trigger 11, which is also designed as a slide piece Air channels, namely the channel 12 for cutting a right-hand thread and the channel 13 for the drive in the reverse direction of rotation, to the turbine 14. The exhaust air line begins with the openings 1 5a in the turbine housing 15 and is through the annular space 16 and which it connects to the connection opening 6 connecting bore 17 is formed.
By pressing button 8,! which is best exercised with the middle finger, the drill is switched on. The drilling spindle rotates in the direction of arrow 18 by pressing the pusher 11, which is conveniently operated with the index finger, the direction of rotation is reversed immediately and without jolts, as the rotatable parts have a very low mass in relation to the weight of the entire machine and the braking and the drive in the opposite direction of rotation cause a very smooth transition from one direction of rotation to the other due to the compressibility of the air, without the need to
to start the drilling spindle first by releasing the trigger 8. Of course, the construction could also be arranged the other way round, so that the pusher to be operated with the index finger is used to switch the air turbine on and off, while the pressure on the pusher to be operated with the middle finger reverses the direction of rotation of the turbine.
