Magazine for holding a supply of workpieces
The invention relates to a magazine for receiving a supply of workpieces, in particular round workpieces, with an outlet channel for forwarding the same to a treatment site.
The aim of the invention is to create a magazine that, without too great a height, allows the inclusion of the largest possible stock of workpieces, sufficient for a certain period of time, and that brings the workpieces into the area of the channel within a useful period of time, i.e. before this from Workpieces is emptied. Another object of the invention is to meet the above conditions with the simplest possible construction.
The magazine according to the invention is characterized by a storage space delimited by two plates and an animator for the workpieces which is arranged below the storage space and is movable in its area of action against the exit direction of the channel adjoining the storage space.
In a preferred, exemplary embodiment of the magazine according to the invention, the animator forms a rotatable disc which has troughs arranged at a distance from one another on its circumference.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
Figure 1 is a side view of the magazine with the housing partially broken away.
FIG. 2 is an end view of the magazine as viewed from the right in FIG.
A plate 1 forms one side wall of a housing 2 with a surface consisting of parts 3 and 4, which leave a gap 5 (FIG. 2) between them.
On the side opposite the wall 1, a second plate 6 is provided on the housing 2, parallel to the plate 1 protruding upwards over the housing 2, which e.g. can be transparent and engages by means of projections 7 in corresponding grooves 8 of the housing 2, in which grooves the projections 7 can be adjusted to change the distance between the plates 1 and 6 by moving the latter on the floor 3. The mutual spacing of the plates 1 and 6 is secured by spacers 9 inserted into the grooves 8. The distance between the plates 1 and 6 is adjusted so that the workpieces 10 have enough play for their movement, but are nevertheless well guided.
The storage space 11 formed by the plates 1 and 6 is located above the downwardly sloping surface part 3, which is inclined towards the outlet duct 12 and forms the bottom of the storage space. The outlet duct 12, which is connected to the storage space 11 and whose outlet direction is indicated by an arrow A. is designated, leads to a treatment site, not shown, for example to the loader of a machine tool. It is delimited by the two plates 1 and 6, by the inner end wall formed by the surface part 4 and an outer end wall 13 which, in its upper part, simultaneously closes off the storage space 11 at the end.
To adapt the width of the outlet channel 12 to the extension of the workpieces 10 parallel to the plates 1 and 6, in the present example therefore to the diameter of the same, the outer straight end wall 13 extending beyond the base 3 is provided by means of slots 14 and passing through them Locking screws 15 mounted adjustable. An animator in the form of a disk 16 is rotatably mounted in the housing 2. It lies under the storage space 11 and bridges the gap 5. It has troughs 17 arranged at a distance from one another on its circumference. The disk 16 is driven in the direction of arrow B (FIG. 1) by means of a motor 18 (FIG. 2) mounted on the housing 2 ) rotated, so moves in the area of the gap 5 in the direction opposite to the exit direction A of the channel 12.
The storage space 11, which is open at the top, is filled with workpieces 11 by hand from time to time. As FIG. 1 shows, the workpiece 10 lying immediately in front of the trough 17 located in the gap 5 holds back the remaining workpieces in the storage space 11 from falling into the channel 12. This state is now canceled by the fact that, when the disk 16 continues to rotate in the direction of arrow B, the workpiece 10 closest to the mentioned trough 17 falls into it and releases the workpiece already lying above the channel 12 to fall into the channel. The movement of these two workpieces, however, also allows at least the workpieces located near the channel 12 to change their position in the direction of the channel.
The disk-shaped animator 16 thus keeps the workpieces in the storage space 11 in motion, and its speed and the number of troughs 17 is selected so that the channel 12 is always supplied with workpieces quickly enough.
Under certain circumstances, particularly in the case of smaller work pieces, the troughs 17 could be omitted because the desired moving effect of the smooth circumference of the disk 16 on the work pieces could be sufficient. It is only important that the foremost workpiece in the direction of arrow A, lying against the disk 16, executes a movement in the direction of arrow B so that the workpiece lying above the channel 12 is released and the remaining workpieces in the storage space 11 successively against the end wall 13 to be moved.
Instead of depressions 17, the disc 16 could also be roughened on its circumference, e.g. Have teeth.
In another embodiment, the animator moving in the direction of arrow B can be a conveyor belt or form an arm which, when rotated in direction B, protrudes somewhat through the gap 5 into the storage space 11, but retracts during the rest of the rotation, which e.g. can be achieved by means of a handlebar.
It can be seen that the illustrated and described magazine is very simple in its structure and consequently also less prone to failure. As FIG. 1 shows, the overall height of the magazine can be kept within relatively small limits by choosing the shape of the plates 1 and 6 so that the storage space 11 extends horizontally far away from the channel 12 to the left (FIG. 1 ) expands, the capacity of the storage space 11 can therefore be chosen to be large without a generally undesirable increase in the overall height of the magazine, and the storage space 11 can therefore be refilled at longer time intervals.
