Description
la fig. 3 est une vue en perspective montrant la répartition des bandes élémentaires;
la fig. 4 est une vue de face de la gaine obtenue;
Apparatus for making thermoplastic sheaths
for the manufacture of sachets
To condition certain products, in particular liquids, sheets or strips of thermoplastic material are sometimes used, shaped into sheaths, welded and subsequently cut.
To make these sheaths, two methods are used:
- either the strip of thermoplastic material is folded longitudinally so that its two ends overlap,
- or it is folded so that its internal faces are in contact with one another, at their ends, to form a radial wing, subsequently folded back against the sheath.
When performing the transverse weld, it is therefore necessary to place between the welding jaws, in the first case, three thicknesses of the strip and, in the other case, four thicknesses, which considerably hinders the realization of the weld. , especially in the case of packaging liquids.
In addition, in the first case and when the strip is of the complex type, that is to say is composed of sheets of different materials, only one of which is of heat-sealable material, it is necessary to provide, on at least l 'one of the ends of the sheath, a reserve, that is to say an area where the heat-sealable material protrudes from the others, to allow the welding to be carried out. This reserve, which is very difficult to obtain, increases the cost price of the strip and complicates its production.
In addition, this packaging method is ill-suited to welding machines at high production rates.
The present invention overcomes these drawbacks.
It relates to an apparatus characterized in that it comprises at least two supports receiving at least two coils from which come elementary bands each describing, after return, a common vertical path with that of the corresponding elementary band of the other reel, but in a plane offset laterally with respect to that of the path followed by the two adjacent elementary bands, the elementary bands being assembled two by two during these vertical paths by two welds which connect the two longitudinal edges of a strip with those of the other band.
The appended schematic drawing represents, by way of nonlimiting example, two embodiments of this apparatus.
figs. 1 and 2 are side elevational and top plan views respectively in section along 2-2 of FIG. 1
fig. 3 is a perspective view showing the distribution of the elementary bands;
fig. 4 is a front view of the sheath obtained;
fig. 5 shows an alternative embodiment of this apparatus.
Two supports 2 are arranged on either side of the frame of the welding and packaging machine, not shown. On each of them is placed a large coil 3 or 4.
The strip of thermoplastic material 5 or 6 which unwinds from each of these coils successively describes an ascending vertical trajectory then, after passing over a roller 7, a horizontal trajectory in the direction of arrow 8 of FIG 1 for the strip 5 and in that of arrow 9 for band 6.
During this horizontal path each of the strips 5 or 6 is cut by means of three knives with fixed blades, shown diagrammatically at 10 in FIGS. 1 and 3 in four elementary bands 12a, 12b, 12c and 12d respectively for band 5 and 13a, 13b, 13c and 13d for band 6.
The elementary bands 1 2a and 1 2c describe, after each passage over a roller 14, a descending vertical path situated in the same plane P1 as the corresponding path of the elementary bands 13a and 13c, of the other reel 4, bands passing over rollers 15. It is the same for the elementary bands 12b and 12d which, after passing over rollers 16, describe a descending vertical path situated in the same plane P2 as that of the elementary bands 1 3b and 1 3d of the reel 4, bands passing on rollers 17.
Thus four beams of vertical bands are obtained, i.e. two beams 12a-13a and 12c-13c arranged in the same plane P1, and two other beams 12b13b and 12d-13d arranged in the same plane P2 offset with respect to plane P1, the beams arranged in the same plane being themselves offset relative to those located in the other plane as shown schematically in FIG. 3.
This arrangement is particularly advantageous because it allows each beam, thus obtained, to pass between welding jaws 18 which, arranged vertically and near each of the lateral edges of the two bands forming the beam, provide two longitudinal welds 21, on both sides. other of this bundle, and thus form a sheath 19 without the edges of the sheaths thus obtained running the risk of coming into contact with each other with the possibility of sticking together, as would be the case if the bundles were juxtaposed in the same plan.
As shown in more detail in fig. 2, each welding jaw 18 is connected to the jaw located on the same side of the beam by a guide 20 ensuring the shaping of the sheath and allowing the passage, inside this sheath, of the filling rod 22 in the case of a machine for packaging liquids.
After its two side welds have been made, the sheath is, as is known per se, closed transversely by welds 23 which delimit the bags in this sheath. These transverse welds are made, as shown in fig. 1, by means of jaws 24 ensuring or not simultaneously the cutting of the sheath.
This transverse weld 23 is made in the same plane as the longitudinal welds 21 and in the case of all the longitudinal 21 and transverse 23 welds, the weld only involves two thicknesses of plastic sheet, which facilitates the operation of welding and makes it possible to obtain welds with excellent mechanical resistance and perfect sealing.
In addition, possibly, as shown by the hatched parts of FIG. 4, the longitudinal welds 21 may comprise, each at their base. a return 25 in the radial direction, returns on which the transverse weld 23 is effected. Thanks to these returns 25, the connection between the longitudinal and transverse welds is further improved.
In the case of the variant embodiment shown in FIG. 5, each of the coils 3 and 4, arranged on either side of the bag making machine, is formed by several rollers, respectively 30a, 30b, 30c and 30d or 31a, 31b, 31c and 31d, arranged side by side. side on the central shaft 32 of each reel, carried at its ends by supports 2. From each of these rollers an elementary strip is unwound respectively 33a, 33b, 33c and 33d for the reel 3, and 34a, 34b, 34c and 34d hemmed coil 4.
