Description

The present invention relates to the field of packaging, in particular sachets, comprising closure profiles complementary.

Numerous packages or sachets comprising such profiles of closures have already been proposed.

Even more precisely, the present invention relates to packaging or sachets comprising a peelable bonding area, i.e. separable, defined between the internal surfaces of the walls of the package or bag.

Many such packages or sachets are also known.

The peelable area has the function of strengthening the tightness of packaging or sachet.

It also has the function of allowing a control of opening the package or sachet. Indeed the separation of the area peelable from a package or sachet indicates to the potential buyer that this packaging or sachet was previously opened.

This peelable area can be provided on the inside or on the outside closure profiles, relative to the internal volume of the packaging or bag.

Generally this peelable area is produced by adding a strip made of peelable material, i.e. with a melting point below that of the wall of the sachet or packaging, on the film making up the latter.

On trouvera un exemple de mise en oeuvre d'un tel emballage dans le document US-A-4 925 318.An example of implementation of such packaging can be found in US-A-4,925,318.

However, it has been noted that the means hitherto proposed for making these packages are very complex and do not give completely satisfaction. In particular, they do not always guarantee a satisfactory sealing of packaging, especially on the ends of the peelable strip, at the side edges of the packages, because the length of the sections of peelable material conveyed on the film component packaging should be less than the width of the film.

We tried to remedy this difficulty by making the peelable area without addition of material, by surface treatment of the film.

However, this attempt also does not give completely satisfaction due in particular to its complexity of implementation.

The present invention now aims to improve the performance of known packaging.

The main purpose of the present invention is to provide sachets or packaging having a greater seal than that of the sachets or known prior packaging.

The above object is achieved in the context of the present invention, through a packaging manufacturing process that includes the steps which consist of conveying sections of tape or edging of material peelable on a film intended to form the wall of the packaging, the sections having a length less than the width when deposited on the film of the desired packaging, to crush at least at the ends each section so that after crushing, the sections fully cover the width of said packaging and to fix each section of peelable material on the movie.

The present invention also relates to a machine for implementation of this process, as well as the packaging thus obtained.

Other characteristics, aims and advantages of the present invention will appear on reading the detailed description which follows, and with reference to the appended drawings, given by way of nonlimiting examples, and in which:
  • FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 schematically represent three successive stages of implementation of the method according to the present invention, and
  • Figure 4 shows a cross-sectional view of a closure profile incorporating a peelable section, according to a variant of the present invention.

We have schematized in Figures 1, 2 and 3 the three basic steps of process according to the present invention.

More precisely in these figures we have schematized:
  • in FIG. 1, a film 10 preferably driven with continuous travel, in the direction of its length, in a direction D,
  • in FIG. 2, sections of strip or border of peelable material 20 conveyed sequentially on the film 10, transversely to its direction of movement D, with a pitch equal to that of the packages to be produced from the film, and
  • in FIG. 3, a step of crushing the sections 20 and fixing them on the film 10.

It will be noted on the comparative examination of FIGS. 2 and 3 that the step of crushing leads to an elongation of the sections 20. As well as the sections 20 have, when deposited on the film 10, a length less than the width of the film 10, after crushing, it can be obtained according to the present invention, sections 20 which fully cover the width of the film 10 and therefore suitable for guaranteeing total tightness subsequent packaging.

In practice, the steps of crushing and fixing the sections 20 on film 10 can be simultaneous. They can also be carried out successively. In the latter case, preferably, the step crushing is performed before the fixing step.

These crushing and fixing steps are preferably carried out between two heated jaws.

The peelable material constituting the sections 20, is a material of which the melting or softening point is lower than that of the material composing the main wall of the sheet 10.

By way of nonlimiting example, the material making up the sections peelable 20 is preferably formed from copolymers of olefins, ethylene or propylene.

Also by way of nonlimiting example, the material making up the film 10 is preferably formed from polyolefins.

In the context of the present invention, for the implementation of the above-mentioned process under satisfactory conditions, it is considered that the sections 20 of peelable material should preferably have at least a flat base face intended to be fixed on the film 10. For the rest the section of sections 20 can be the subject of numerous variants. The sections 20 can thus be of rectangular or square section, or even globally rounded.

Par ailleurs, à titre d'exemple non limitatif , la largeur des tronçons 20 est de préférence comprise entre 1 et 10 mm, tandis que l'épaisséur des tronçons 20 est de préférence comprise entre 0,1 et 2 mm.Furthermore, by way of nonlimiting example, the width of the sections 20 is preferably between 1 and 10 mm, while the thickness of the sections 20 is preferably between 0.1 and 2 mm.

However, as a variant, the same method can be implemented by depositing the sections 20 longitudinally on the film 10, that is to say parallel to their length D.

The sections 20 can be an integral part of the profiles of closure 30 and coextruded therewith, as shown schematically on Figure 4, or be formed of separate elements, routed on the film 10 parallel to said sections 30.

The packaging or sachets can be produced later according to any technique known to a person skilled in the art, starting from sheet 10 comprising sections 20 of strip of peelable material conforming to the present invention.

In a manner known per se, the peelable strip 20 is brought into contact of the surface facing the packaging and fixed thereon by compression accompanied by thermal input.

The other conventional shaping, filling and Closing of the packages will not be described in more detail below.

On notera cependant que le procédé conforme à la présente invention consistant à acheminer les tronçons 20, à les écraser et à les fixer sur le film 10 peut être suivi d'une étape de stockage du.film, par exemple par enroulement, les emballages proprement dits étant réalisés ultérieurement en un lieu géographique pouvant être différent de celui de fixation des tronçons 20 sur le film 10.Note however that the process according to this invention of routing the sections 20, crushing them and fixing them film 10 can be followed by a film storage step, for example by winding, the actual packaging being produced subsequently in a geographical location which may be different from that of fixing the sections 20 on the film 10.

However, as a variant, the method according to the present invention consisting in routing the sections 20, crushing them and fixing them on the film 10 can be made immediately upstream of a machine packaging, for example an FFS type machine, comprising means of packaging conformation from the film, filling of packaging and closing thereof.

Such an FFS type machine may include a forming neck to conform the film to the tubular state, a filling chute which opens into the tube thus formed, means capable of fixing the longitudinal edges of the film and means capable of producing sequentially transverse welds on the tubular film to define the ends of each package.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the modes of particular realization which have just been described but extends to all variants according to his spirit.

The present invention can be applied to sachets in which the closing profiles are activated by a slider.

In the accompanying drawings, diagrams have been made of sections 20 of peelable material which covers practically the entire width of the film 10. In in this case the packaging is preferably made by superimposing on the film thus equipped with sections 20, another film of the same width carrying a closure profile complementary to that of the first film, but free of peelable tape.

When, on the contrary, the packaging is made from a single sheet folded back on itself or conformed to the tubular state, the length of the sections 20 deposited on the film 10 must be of the order of half the width of the film 10, to reach exactly the width of the final packaging, after crushing.
