Apparatus for detecting the breakage of threads in a textile machine The object of the invention is an apparatus for detecting the breakage of threads in a textile machine having, per thread, a cursor which moves on a guide path under the influence of the thread. wire in motion.
Until now, on continuous ring looms, the speed of the latter as a function of the number of wire breaks per unit of time is still regulated manually, either by means of a mechanical variator or by the intermediary of an analog system. Since the number of yarn breaks per unit time can undergo appreciable variations as a result of various influences which may occur both before or during the spinning process, the speed adjustment of the machine should time to other be adapted, resulting in a loss of yield of 5 to 10%.
Indeed, this has the consequence that the machine does not constantly rotate at its optimum speed. Either the machine is running too fast and too many thread breaks occur for the person who controls the machine to be able to repair them fast enough and there are therefore too many spools at standstill, or the machine is running too slowly and the person in charge has too much time.
Another reason for a loss of efficiency consists in the fact that in order to observe the breaks, said person must constantly examine the coils by: feeling with the finger whether the wire is there or not. A relatively long time may therefore pass before a break is discovered, whereby a spool on which the yarn is to be wound may remain idle for a long time before a broken yarn is repaired.
The object of the invention is to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks and to provide an apparatus allowing the rapid detection of a break @de son.
To this end, the apparatus has a device which is sensitive to the movement of the cursor, this device communicating with a signaling member, such as an indicator lamp.
Advantageously, the device has an element making it possible to excite a magnetic field whose flux is cut off by the path of the cursor, a conductor surrounded by said field being provided in which a pulse is caused by a change in said flux, said conductor being coupled to the signaling unit, the latter giving an indication when the pulse disappears.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the device has a permanent magnet surrounded by a coil.
According to a particular embodiment of the object of the invention, the device is connected to a pulse generator which is supplied with an un-equalized rectified voltage.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the pulse generator is connected to an OR gate circuit, which in turn is connected to an integrating system counter and to a comparison system, in which the number of pulses transmitted by the aforementioned OR gate circuit to the counter during a determined period of time is compared with a chosen value, the comparison system controlling a servo-system which acts on a speed variator mounted on an axis d drive of a textile machine.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, the diagram of a particular embodiment of the object of the invention.
The fi-. 1 represents a block diagram of a particular embodiment of the invention.
The fi-. 2 is a schematic representation of part of the embodiment of fig. 1.
In both figures the same reference numbers refer to the same elements. The apparatus described below is applied to a continuous ring loom.
When we analyze the current spinning process, we see that we start with a stretched wick which goes towards a spool with driven wick passing through a eyelet moving on a ring. By the rotary movement of the wick coil. the # eyelet moves on the ring and the bit is then, following the circular path described by the # eyelet and the friction of the latter on the ring, twisted so as to obtain a thread.
When the thread breaks, the speed of the # eyelet decreases to finally stop on the ring.
The object of the invention is now to detect this reduction in speed and, consequently, the breaking of the wire. This can be achieved by mechanical, optical, electrical, magnetic, etc. means.
In the apparatus described below the detection takes place by means of a magnetic system.
This device consists of a series of identical detection devices, this number being equal in this case to 200, see fig. 1. Each of these devices has a permanent magnet 2 surrounded by a coil 1, this magnet being mounted near the ring on which the eyelet moves. The ring with the # eyelet have not been shown in the figures. The flow emitted by the mant 2 therefore cuts the path described by the eyelet. The latter induces pulses in the coil at each passage through the magnetic flux.
This coil 1 is interposed in a tuned circuit 3, which undergoes an increasing oscillation during a variation of flow following the passage of the eyelet. As soon as the thread breaks, the speed of the # eyelet decreases and the impulses disappear; thus wire breakage is detected.
The pulses occurring in the circuit 3 are sent to an amplifier 4 and are conducted from there to a rectifier 5. This makes it possible to obtain a pulse of continuous evolution, this pulse being directed towards the base of an amplifier. having a relatively large impedance 6. such as an emitter load circuit.
Since in a conventional continuous ring loom the number of spools and, consequently. the number of wires is equal to 200, the apparatus according to the invention also comprises 200 of the devices described above.
As it appears in fig. 1, these devices are subdivided into 20 groups of 10 and the outputs of the devices of a well-defined group are connected, on the one hand, to a pulse generator 7 and, on the other hand, to a gate circuit OR 8. The output of each of the OR gate circuits 8 is connected to a pilot lamp 9. If now, by breaking a wire of a well-determined group of devices, the pulses disappear in one of these, a signal occurs at the output of a corresponding amplifier 6 which is sent to the OR gate circuit 8.
By the nature of this circuit, current is sent to the pilot light 9 which indicates that at least one wire, controlled by the corresponding group of devices, is broken. It is therefore sufficient to examine the wires corresponding to this group of devices. In order to be able to further adjust the speed of the continuous ring loom as a function of the number of wire breaks, all the pulse generators 7 are connected to the same OR gate circuit 11. Since the number of devices mentioned comprises 200 , the number of pulse generators 7 is equal to 20.
The output signal of the gate circuit 11 is amplified and is directed to a counter 12 to which is connected a time switch 13, the latter integrates the pulses received by the counter during a determined adjustable period. After this period, the counter 12 gives a signal to a comparison system 14 and the time switch 13 turns on a second time switch 10 for a determined period. In the system 14 a comparison is made between the number of pulses, transmitted during the aforementioned integration time to the counter 12, and a chosen value.
This comparison system 14 is coupled to a control system 15 comprising two relays not shown in the figures, these relays being interposed in a supply circuit 16 of a servomotor 17. Sui vant that, in the system 14, the quantity of pulses sent from counter 12 exceeds or not the value chosen by comparison system 14, one of the two relays is closed. If the number of pulses reaches the chosen value, the relay actuating the motor 17 in the direction corresponding to a slowdown of the continuous ring loom is closed, this loom being driven by the motor 18.
Otherwise, when the number of pulses sent to the comparison system 14 is less than the chosen value, the other relay is put into service and the motor 17 turns in the opposite direction, which has the consequence that the business is accelerating. The members making it possible to obtain this variation in speed of the continuous ring loom consist of a reducer 19 coupled to the output shaft of the motor 17, the reducer 19 actuating a mechanism 20 which consists of two parallel branches 21 and 22 approaching or moving away from each other depending on the direction of rotation of the motor 17.
These branches cooperate with two conically shaped disks 23 and 24 respectively of a belt transmission 25 mounted between the output shaft 26 of the motor 18 and the drive shaft 27 of the continuous ring loom. Depending on whether the discs 23 and 24 are brought closer to or separated from one another by the branches 21 and 22, the drive shaft 27 accelerates or decelerates for a constant speed of the motor 18.
Also, after the expiration of the chosen integration period, the time switch 13 turns on the switch 10 for the chosen period allowing the comparison system 14 and the servomechanism 15 coupled thereto to perform. the operations described above.
The relays mounted in the control system 15 are only kept in a closed position for a determined time regardless of the difference between the number of pulses, sent to the comparison system 14, and the chosen value, so that 'A constant correction is made, after the chosen integration time, of the speed of the drive shaft 27 of the continuous ring loom, in either direction.
Therefore, as long as the number of breaks remains below the selected value, the continuous ring loom will undergo a constant acceleration after this integration period. Conversely, when the number of breaks is greater than the selected value, the continuous ring loom will undergo, after this integration period, always a constant slowdown.
