Device for rotating tools with at least one disk-shaped grinding or cutting element for removing the grinding dust or cutting chips. The invention relates to a device for rotating tools with at least one disk-shaped grinding or cutting element, for removing the grinding dust or cutting chips, with a protective housing that is designed so that it corresponds to the shape of the disc-shaped grinding or cutting element.
Numerous proposals have been made to deposit dust and debris from permanently installed cutting, grinding and polishing tools in factories and workshops. However, if the grinding and cutting work are carried out by the same tool at ver different places, such as. B. in construction, dust prevention is a serious and ever-present problem. Under certain circumstances, the abraded materials can form flammable dust, which poses both the risk of fire outbreaks and the risk of lung damage.
Portable grinding tools are well known in the construction and related fields; However, if they are used to masonry, concrete, stone and the like. To cut, they generate enormous amounts of grinding dust and dust, which spreads from the area surrounding the interface so quickly that the tool becomes invisible to the operator after a few seconds. This is particularly the case when working inside a building.
Devices in the form of protective housings have been proposed for the removal of grinding dust or cutting chips during processing and these protective housings have outlets through which the grinding dust or cutting chips can be removed. However, such devices have the disadvantage that the outlets are in unsuitable locations with respect to the grinding or cutting zone of the tools.
As a result, these devices have not been effective and have only produced a small reduction in the amount of grinding dust or cutting chips that accumulated in a room while working.
The purpose of the present invention is to resolve this difficulty and to make the removal of grinding dust or cutting chips more effective.
This is achieved by the device according to the invention in that the protective housing has an outlet channel which is located such that its axis runs essentially tangentially to the edge of the grinding or cutting element from which the grinding dust or cutting chips are thrown off when it rotates.
Embodiments of the subject invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a first device on a tool for cutting continuous grooves in mortar, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the FIG. 1 represents before direction, Fig.3 shows a perspective view of a second device on a tool for cutting and forming incisions and grooves in masonry, and Fig. 4 shows a perspective view of a third embodiment also on a tool for cutting the and shows the making of cuts and grooves in masonry.
Device for continuous cutting of mortar According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the device for cutting mortar, as it is required to embed a moisture-proof layer in an existing building, a portable hand tool which comprises a thin flexible grinding wheel 2, a protective housing 4 for the wheel 2, a power source (not shown) for driving the wheel via a flexible shaft 6. There is also a power source for driving a vacuum pump, which is ruled out to the protective housing via a cyclone separator (not shown).
The portable tool has a head 8 in which there are transmission members for converting the rotation of the shaft 6 into a rotation of the disk 2 and which has a handle 10 for operating the tool. The disc 2 is driven in the direction of the arrow in FIGS. 1 and 2 at a speed of 3800-6000 revolutions per minute, depending on the permissible operating speed, by an electric motor (not shown) of 2 brake P.S. driven on. The disk 2 has a diameter of 35 cm and consists of fiberglass and synthetic resin and is clamped onto the drive shaft 20, which is in drive connection with the flexible shaft 6.
The approximately half of the disc enclosing protective housing 4 is substantially semicircular, has a straight open edge 12 over which the disc 2 protrudes. In other embodiments, the housing need not be exactly semicircular, but only needs to match the shape of the disc 2 in general. The shape can be hexagonal and in certain cases could be rectangular or square. While these enclosures are not as satisfying as semicircular ones, they can still be effective.
The protective housing has an outlet channel 16 with an axis 16a which, as can be clearly seen from FIG. 2, lies approximately tangential to the edge of the disk 2, where it enters the protective housing during the rotation. The axis 16a runs somewhat more than 90 to the plane of the opening 12. This opening 12 is 1.2 cm longer than the diameter of the disk and the opening itself is 3.6 cm deep.
Except for the outlet channel 16, the protective housing 4 corresponds to the shape of the disc and there is a clearance between the curved parts 18 of the protective housing and the edge of the disc of approximately 6 mm, but this clearance increases of course when the disc wears off, as at 2a (Fig. 2). The edge 14 of the channel 16 is shown straight, but could of course be curved slightly ge. The protective housing itself is made of pressed steel sheet welded at the seams and is clamped Festge by an annular flange 21 on the head 8.
The rinsing outlet channel 16 is connected by a hose 22 to the inlet of a cyclone separator, through which air containing grinding dust or cutting chips is sucked off by means of a vacuum pump with an output of 4 m 3 per minute.
During operation, the vacuum apparatus is started and the disc speed is brought to the maximum by a clutch on the power source. The protective housing is held on the inlet connection of the flexible shaft and on the outlet channel 16, the inlet end 12a of the opening 12 touching the wall while the moving disk is still removed from the wall. The tool is then pivoted around the mentioned end 12 until the disc 6 in the mortar of the wall. entry.
Even if the open edge of the protective housing is removed from the wall through a wedge-shaped gap, as is indicated at W in FIG. 2, the grinding dust leaves the disc 2 tangentially and enters the channel 16.
Some air is rotating in the protective housing, but most of the air is sucked out by the vacuum pump. Very little dust escapes during the initial engagement of the pane and none escapes when the pane is fully in the wall.
The protective housing is then moved along the mortar line, resting firmly against the wall and thereby cutting a 14 cm deep groove in the mortar, whereby the vacuum in the protective housing is partially destroyed by the foreign air sucked in through the already cut groove.
The outlet channel 16 is arranged at approximately 90 degrees to the open edge of the protective housing, because the grinding dust follows a path which is approximately tangential to the location of the disc rim where the rim emerges from the mortar.
However, because of its drive arrangement, the disk cannot usually be inserted into the wall up to its diameter if the tangent to the wall were below 90, so that the grinding dust tries to move in a direction with an angle greater than 90 to the opening 12 and the axis of the outlet channel 16 lies in this direction.
This device enables dust-free cutting up to a depth of 14 cm through most mortar at a speed of 3 cm per second. As can also be seen from FIG. 2, when the disc is worn, the angle at which the grinding dust leaves disc 2 is although it changes in relation to the opening 12 in such a way that the dust is thrown straight ahead into the outlet channel 16.
Protective housing for cutting tools with discs of 25 cm diameter (Fig. 3) The cutting in this example relates to the paired production of incisions of 2.5-4 cm deep in walls, so that the wall part between the A cut can be easily chiseled out to Ver recesses for tubes, wires or the like. to build.
The device works for the effective disposal of dust in the manner described with reference to Fig. 1 and has a portable tool, which is a 1200 watt electric motor of 1.6 P.S. owns. The motor drives a flexible grinding wheel with a diameter of 25 cm, which is made of silicon carbide and synthetic resin and runs at 6000 revolutions clockwise, via a head attachment which is designed so that it reverses the normal direction of rotation of the motor shaft.
The shaft of the head 308 extends through a protective steel sheet housing 304. This housing is essentially semicircular and terminates in a flat upper rim 312 38 cm wide which is surrounded by an outwardly directed flange 342 which rests against the surface to be cut . The protective housing is flattened, 4.4 cm deep and surrounds the cutting disk 302. The housing has a 3.8 cm diameter outlet 316 along the side downstream of the exit cutting edge of the disk, the axis of which is at 125 to opening 312. The outer edge 314 of the outlet 316 is curved outwards, so that the particles produced during cutting flow over the walls of the outlet without excessive turbulence.
The edge 314 can be straight if desired, but it has been found in practice that a layer of dust will collect on the edge. A curved edge is therefore preferred.
The side of the protective housing on which the head 308 rests is provided with a curved longitudinal slot 346 3.2 cm wide which runs from the center of the housing to near the flat, open edge. The opposite side of the protective housing is seen with a central opening of 5 cm diameter, which can be covered by a pivoting cover plate from which is mounted on the protective housing.
The protective housing 304 is attached to the tool by means of an annular flange 320. The annular flange forms part of an arm 348 which is flattened, triangular in shape, the tip 350 being provided with a hole overlying corresponding holes in the upper corner of the housing. A bolt 352 passes through the housing and arm 348, the whole being held together by a pair of nuts and washers which nuts are threaded onto both ends of the bolt 352.
The area surrounding the bolt 352 is enclosed in a closed compartment 354, which is filled with grease in order to ensure easy pivoting. The bolt 352 is shaped to prevent the housing from collapsing when the nuts are tightened.
The triangular arm 348 has two parts that support the annular flange 320, which is deep enough to cover the slot 346 on the side of the protective housing. The corner of the flange 320 near the opening 312 is provided with an opening 3.2 cm in diameter to receive the shaft of the disk 302.
The annular flange 320, which connects the arm to the angle head 308, is surrounded by a snap ring 358 in order to take the circumference of the angle grinder. The snap ring can be tightened in the usual way by means of a screw.
The annular flange 320 carries a sliding piece 360 on one arm which interacts with a guide track which is formed by a bent metal strip 362 which is attached to the side of the protective housing. The curved metal strip has a stop which can be adjusted to any position along the strip and can be locked in the selected position so that the operator can limit the path of the disc in the curved slot 346 and thereby into the wall by adjusting the stop . In practice, the disc wears out very quickly, and a quickly adjustable screw is provided to compensate for the wear.
Since the protective housing has a radius of 13.5 cm above its semicircular part, it can pivot backwards in order to enclose the entire pane, while at the same time the curved slot 346 is covered. The flange 342 surrounding the flat, open edge can be placed against the wall and when the disc rotates at full speed, the tool is gripped by the handle 364 and the outlet tube 322 and around the upper corner bolt 352 against the pressure of spring means, not shown pivoted, which strive to resist the exit of the disc.
As the disc emerges, it cuts a groove in the wall and at the same time the arcuate slot 346 is gradually covered by the annular flange 320. The opening on the opposite side can then be opened if desired.
In practice, the necessary air entry takes place through two sets of cutouts (not shown), the first of which lies on the mentioned opposite side of the protective housing between the opening 346 and the flat, open edge 312, while the second lies between the opening 346 and the upper corner bolt 352 lies.
Telescopic protective housing for cutting tool with disc of 25 cm diameter (Fig. 4) The protective housing shown in Fig. 4 has a main part 404 which is fastened by a U-shaped bracket 464 to the head 408 of the same drive unit as used in the embodiment described above. The wall of the main part is curved outwards on the outlet side. The open edge of the main part has a curved slot 446 on the top.
A triangular extension 466 is arranged telescopically in the main part 404 and rotatably mounted on this about a Zap 452 which is located on the outlet side of the main part. The approach 466 has on its upper side a curved slot 468 which corresponds to the slot 446 in the main part, so that the two together form a curved slot of variable length in which the output shaft 440 of the angle head can move. The approach is pressed by spring means, not shown, into a fully disengaged position in which the disc 402 is enclosed. The extension has an opening and a flange 442 which is the same as in the protective housing shown in FIG.
In use, the vacuum device and motor are switched on so that air flows down the outlet, and when the disc in the protective housing is running at full speed, the open end of the attachment is placed against the wall to be machined and tilting pressure is applied around the pin exercised the main part. The extension then swivels telescopically against spring pressure in the main part, so that the disc can penetrate the wall.
The purpose of the protective housings of the last two examples mentioned is to direct the grinding dust generated on the cutting edge of the disc away from the edge towards a collection area. An attempt was made to collect the grinding dust in a fabric filter bag connected to the outlet; however, the increase in weight due to the accumulated grinding dust was so great that only short cuts could be made before the sack became too heavy; The filter bag was quite useful for short cuts.
It is preferred, however, to use a flexible discharge line leading to a cyclone separator through which air is drawn by a vacuum pump at an rate of 1.1m3 per minute.
In order to improve the shape of the wells, an adjustable guide can be arranged on an arm that protrudes over the protective housing, which guide can be inserted into the first recess of the recess and displaced therein, so that the disk makes the second cut exactly parallel to the first cuts.
In another, not illustrated embodiment, the protective housing is made a little deeper and designed so that it encloses two adjacent panes, so that parallel cuts are made at the same time, with the masonry remaining in between is chiseled out with a mechanically operated chisel. The increased torque for this embodiment is advantageously transmitted to the disc by a flexible shaft instead of a hand tool. which tends to burn out if used continuously under overload.
