Die Arylreste A sollen definitionsgemäss positivie- rende, d. h. nucleophsle Substituenten enthalten.
2,5- Diaminobenzol-1=sulfonsäuren in Betracht.

Additional patent to main patent No. 424 023 Process for the production of monoazo dyes The present invention relates to a process for the production of new monoazo dyes.
In Swiss Patent No. 424023, dyes, u. a. also monoazo dyes, which contain at least one CICH2-CO-NH-CH2- group. With these dyes on fiber material of the most varied types, especially on cellulose fibers, but also on wool and similar stick-containing fibers, excellent wet-fast dyeings are obtained.
In the further processing of the subject matter of the invention it has now been found that those monoazo compounds containing an arylacylamino group are particularly valuable Wol'l dyes
if, in addition to the characteristic group CICH2-CO-NH-CH2-, they also contain at least one positive substituent in the aryl part of the acyl radical and are derived from an o-diazobenzenesulfonic acid.
The present invention now relates to a process for the production of monoazo dyes, which is characterized in that the diazoniumverbindu @ ng of an o-Aminobe.nzolsufonsäure is coupled with an azo component, the starting materials being chosen so that one or both at least at least one asylum residue of the formula I CICH2-CO-NH-CH, AX-CO- (I) in which A is an aryl residue, bound via an amino group,
which contains at least one positive substituent and X denotes the direct bond or an organic acyclic bridge member.
In the asylum radicals of the formula I, the carbonyl group can be bonded to the aryl radical A via an acyclic bridge member, in addition to a direct bond. Such bridge members are, for example, low molecular weight aliphatic radicals, which in turn may be. , interrupted by heteroatons.
Aromatic acyl radicals with a carbonyl group bonded in this way can be derived, for example, from arylacetic acids, arylpropionic acids, aryloxyacetic acids and arylthioacetic acids. The aryl parts for their part are preferably mononuclear, ie phenyl radicals. But they can too.
be polynuclear, especially diphenyl, diphenyl ether, diphenyl ketone, aroylanunophenyl and naphthyl radicals.
The aryl radicals A should, by definition, be positive, i.e. H. contain nucleophilic substituents. As such, for example, lower alkyl groups, then preferably methyl groups, or substituents, which by means of an ether oxygen,
an ether sulfur atom or an amide nitrogen atom are linked to the aryl radical. For reasons of production, the CIC127-C0, NH-CH2 group primarily occupies the ortho, but optionally also the para position to such a nucleophilic substituent.
Suitable disazo components in the process according to the present invention are aminobenzene compounds which contain a sulphonic acid group in the ortho-position to the diazotizable amino group.
It is advantageous to use the unsubstituted 2-aminobenzal-1-sulfonic acid itself, or also its lower homologues, such as.
B. 5-methyl-2-aminobenzene-l-sulfonic acid. In the event that the diazo component also contains an acylated amino group according to the definition, the easily accessible 2,4- or 2,5-diaminobenzene-1-sulfonic acids are primarily considered as starting materials.
When. Azo components are used in the process presented in the monoazo dyes customary on couplable hydroxyl or amino compounds of the benzene, naphthalene or pyrazole series or
the acylated descendants of such compounds according to the definition. Hyd @ roxynaphthalenesulfonic acids and amino hydroxynaphthalenesulfanic acids are preferred, in particular
when a hydroxyl group is bonded to the same in a position and a sulfonic acid group is bonded to the same position in the m position.
As, before ferred coupling components or precursors for the same accordingly come, for example, the 1-amino or 2- amino-8-hydroxy-naphthal.in 6-sulfonic acid, the 2-amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, the 1- Amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6- or -4,6-disulfonic acid and 2-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalim-3,6-disulfonic acid in question.
The introduction of the acyl radical of the formula I in, the diazo and / or azo component takes place by means of the reactive functional derivatives of carboxylic acids of the formula II Cl-CHs-CO-NH-CHz-AX-COOH (1I) among those for this type of reaction usual conditions.
For example: the carboxylic acid halides are reacted with the sulfonic acid group-containing components in aqueous solution or suspension and with the unsulfated in organic or aqueous organic solvent at low temperatures of 0-10 ° C. A mineral acid binding agent, such as. B. sodium acetate or pyridine., Added.
The corresponding acyl derivatives often fall out of their own accord from the reaction solutions; their separation is often promoted or completed by salting out. The separation takes place from organic solvent by evaporating the solvent, if necessary also by dilution with water and subsequent salting out.
The reactive functional derivatives of the carboxylic acids of the formula II, which are particularly suitable as the acid halides, are prepared by the customary methods known per se.
The carboxylic acid chlorides preferably used are most easily obtained by the action of thionyl chloride on the carboxylic acids in question in an organic solvent with gentle heating. The 3 chloroacetylaminomethyl-4-methyl benzoic acid chloride is a particularly valuable and easily accessible acylating agent.
The diazotization of the diazo components and the coupling according to the invention of the diazonium compounds obtained in this way with the azo components are carried out by the methods known for the preparation of monoazo dyes and under the usual conditions.
The monoazo dyes obtained according to the invention are readily water-soluble, yellow to red-brown powders. They are suitable for dyeing and printing various types of fiber material.
However, they are preferably used for dyeing wool or similar nitrogen-containing fibers, since with them very pure, uniform and very lightfast dyeings are obtained on this material. The yellow, orange, red to bluish red wool dyeings have very good wash and milled fastness properties, especially in the alkaline range.
The new dyes containing sulfonic acid groups are advantageously used on wool by the simple and fiber-friendly method of dyeing from a weakly acidic aqueous bath previously used for wool dyes free from sulfonic acid groups.
Sometimes it is advisable to dye in the presence of compounds which contain an organic lipophilic radical and polyalkylene oxide groups and are known as leveling agents. The addition of organic substances containing basic nitrogen is often also advantageous.
A post-treatment, however, in particular an alkali treatment, is not necessary because the dyeings without such are very good rub and wet fast :.
In the following examples, parts are parts by weight unless expressly stated otherwise. The parts by weight relate to parts by volume as g to cm3. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.

EMI0002.0145
26.5 parts of 4 aminodiphenyl ether-3 sulfonic acid are dissolved as sodium salt in 400 parts of water, 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite are added and the solution is added dropwise to 30 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 100 parts of ice at 0-8.
After stirring for one hour at 0-5 and destroying the excess nitrous acid, the following is left: the colorless diazonium salt suspension is added to an acetic acid suspension of 46.25 parts of 2- (4'-methyl-3'-chloroacetylaminomethylbenzoyl @ - amino) -5-hydroxynaphthalene 7 -sulfonic acid and 25 parts of crystallized sodium acetate in 500 parts of water.
