90 Gewichtsteile Desmophen 2800
5 Gewichtsteile Desmophen VSo
5 Gewichtsteile Desmophen VO 0, 5 Gewichtsteile Aktivator PP ( Desmorapid )
30 Gewichtsteile Isocyanat ( Desmodur 44 V )
Process for the production of molds for the processing of deformable masses, in particular plastics
It is known to make molds by making a cast of a model. If this cast is to be used directly as a mold, up until now one has been forced to create a model that is particularly resistant to both thermal and static loads, and one had to use a relatively large model when making the cast Make effort. Such forms of known type are not very temperature-resistant and can usually not be used for the production of moldings in the printing process. All in all, these forms are relatively expensive.
If you need molds that are temperature-resistant and pressure-resistant, you were up to. from now on they have been forced to produce these using much more complicated known methods.
The costs for a form of conventional design are so high that their production is only worthwhile for items that are manufactured in large series. So reohaat mam für'sine rehtiv simple form with costs of CHF 2500 and above.
Accordingly, there was a great need for relatively cheap molds which already allow series of 10-100 pieces to be produced, the cost of the mold not exceeding the material and labor costs of a series of ten moldings.
It has now surprisingly been found that such inexpensive molds, especially for the plastics industry, can be produced by making a polyurethane cast from a model of the molding by providing the model with at least one layer of a mixture containing polyether and isocyanate in a direct process.
In this way, the so-called casting nest of the mold is obtained, which is expediently provided with a support or. Filling compound surrounds, which between the casting nest and a frame surrounding it at a distance represents a filling which serves to stabilize the casting nest and transferring internal pressures acting on the casting nest to the frame.
What is particularly surprising about the process according to the invention is the fact that excellent shapes can be obtained from polychrome, which are able to reproduce even the smallest details of the models, such as a leather grain and the like, and which are later able to transfer them to the molding, without separation difficulties and the mold becomes dirty, even though polyurethanes are known for their great adhesion to a wide variety of materials.
Since the model used to make the polyurethane cast does not have to be pressure-resistant or withstand temperatures above 60 C, the model can be made from practically all materials, such as wood, textiles, leather, plastics, metals and even wax or plasticine.
If the model is made from a material whose surface does not adhere to polyurethane, e.g. If, for example, wax is used, the model surface does not need to be treated before the casting is made. If, on the other hand, a material is present which forms an adhesive bond with polyurethane, it will be necessary to treat the model surface with a release agent, preferably one for polyurethane foams, which can be done by applying the release agent and polishing, if necessary several times in succession.
Products of the trademarks WIZRTSB 50 or WIZK 313 are suitable as release agents.
The situation is similar when using a form according to the invention, i. H. if the to form the Mabberilal, z. If, for example, wax or a polyolefin has no adhesive properties for the poly- urchtan form, treatment of this form with a release agent is superfluous.
If, on the other hand, adhesion is to be expected, the mold will be treated with a release agent. Since the release agent diffuses into the surface of the polyurethane mold due to the solvent, the release agent adheres very well to the mold, so that a new treatment with release agent is usually only necessary after the mold has been used several times, i.e. after several moldings have been produced. Should a mold according to the invention be spoiled by adhering material, which is usually not the case, you can save cleaning costs because the mold is so cheap, as will be shown in more detail later . The same or similar separating agents as those mentioned for the pretreatment of the model come into consideration.
Practically any material can be used as the supporting compound (this term is also to be used below for the analogous expression filler compound). in question, for example plastics, plastic foams, plaster of paris, cement, wood, metal, etc. The support mass will be chosen depending on the intended use of the mold, in particular because of the dimensional accuracy.
If, for example, only a very small series is to be produced once, and if the molding is free of undercut areas, a rigid supporting mass, e.g. B. plaster of paris or polyester. If you want to keep the form for later use, it is advisable to use the lightest possible support material. In this case, foam-like support masses are particularly advantageous, which connect to the polyurethane cast (i.e. the casting cavity), but advantageously do not hold onto the frame by means of separating means, so that the mold can be used without a frame for storage.
So it is possible, depending on the production situation and the size of the molding, to use frames that can be used for different shapes.
Where the molding has undercut parts on the whistle, a flexible material is used as a supporting material, which is connected to the polyurethane cast forming the cast so that the mold can be bent accordingly for demolding. For this purpose, it is particularly advantageous to surround the cast with a support mass made of polyureethane foam, which can be produced from a mixture for direct processes with a composition similar to that for casting the model with the addition of foaming agent.
The molds according to the invention withstand Ge bDaiuchstempacatupen of 120-155 C! and are therefore suitable for the production of moldings from a wide variety of plastics, for example from polyurethanes, PVC, polyolefins, etc., their deformation tempera. ttur at most. 150 C emaicht.
The forms are very pressure-resistant, especially when they are supported by their support mass on a frame, so that objects produced in the Ver foaming process, eg. B. made of polyurethane foam articles that can be molded into them. In the case of polyurethane foam, a specific pressure of 5 kg / cm2 is calculated, which the molds can withstand without further ado.
Particularly preferred are those molds according to the invention whose model cast, ie the casting nest, made of polyurethane, has a density of approximately 1.0, with a polyurethane foam of similar composition with a density of 0.6-0.8 being used as the support mass are particularly handy because they are light in the. GawMht, their elasticity dare to be stable and very easy and quick to produce.
It has already been pointed out how expensive and time consuming it is to make a conventional mold. A mold according to the invention of the preferred embodiment costs about twice the amount of work required to produce a molding, while the amount of material used for the mold is about 5 to 6 times the material costs of a molding, so that the total costs of the mold are about the same, such as labor and material costs of 10 moldings. Thus, taking the mold costs into account, a series of ten moldings would only cost twice as much as the material and labor for producing the moldings in the mold itself.
Accordingly, with a 10 / o share of the mold costs in the total production costs, a mold can be amortized with 50 moldings and with a 5/0 mold cost share with 100 moldings. In contrast, similar amortization rates are only possible with conventional molds if several thousand pieces of moldings can be produced.
A particular advantage of the invention, in contrast to the prepolymer process, is that the mixture for direct processes can be mixed from two components, which can be stored individually for a very long time, but after the combination lead to a further processable cast (covering mAt support measure) within a few minutes without heat so that the Focman can deliver very quickly.
example
In the present case, a so-called profile rubber sole is used as the model, which is placed with the upper side flat on a metal plate treated with a release agent, so that the profile is exposed.
The profile side of the sole and its edges are also treated with release agent.
Now a mixture for direct processes of the following recipe is produced and poured over the sole as evenly as possible. After about 5-10 minutes, the polyurethane cast of the sole is made. As such, the sole can now be removed from the cast. However, because of the dimensional accuracy, it is advantageous to leave them in there until the supporting mass is also attached.
Since it should be assumed here that the sole profile has undercuts, it is advantageous to choose a polyurethane foam as the support mass, which is produced from a similar mass for direct processes such as casting, but foaming agent is added to the mixture.
In order to adapt the external dimensions of the support mass to a standardized frame for production without reworking, it is expedient to use the frame itself as a mold for the support mass, which can be done by placing the frame on the plate on which the cast sole is is, the supporting compound mixture within this frame is poured in a suitable amount over the cast and by placing a plate and, if necessary, applying pressure, creates a closed space within the frame. Of course, you will treat the placed plate with release agents.
Depending on whether the frame is to be an integral part of the mold or whether it is only intended to be used to insert the mold, it will be used without any release agent or with release agent treatment.
Now, by bending the finished form, you can remove the sole used as a model, treat the cast cavity surface with release agent and, with occasional renewal of the release agent treatment, produce practically any number of soles in the form.
In a similar way, for example, an armrest for a chair, which should have a leather grain, can also be used as a model, in which case a metal or wood insert, for example, can be molded into the armrest to be produced when using the shape obtained in this way. It is amazing how a leather grain on the model is reproduced absolutely true to the smallest details in the form without the use of high temperatures and pressure and how it is transferred from this to the molding when it is used.
The mixture used in the present example for direct processes for the production of the model cast had the following recipe: 100 parts by weight of polyether
90 parts by weight Desmophen 2800
5 parts by weight of Desmophen VSo
5 parts by weight Desmophen VO 0.5 parts by weight activator PP (Desmorapid)
30 parts by weight isocyanate (Desmodur 44 V)
The branded products Desmophen 2800, VS and VO are polyethers of the so-called one-shoot type (direct process), which migrate with the isocyanate (e.g. Desmodur 44 V, which is diphenyl methane4, 4 diisooyanate) .
The products Desmophen, Desmodur and pDesmorapidp are branded products from Bayer.
It goes without saying that other commercially available products or any one-shoot mixtures can be used for the same purpose, and the person skilled in the art can clarify the usability by means of simple experiments.
The proppant was made from a mixture that differed only slightly in the formulation and in terms of foaming.
