Process for the production of new vat dyes It has been found that vat dyes which contain at least one grouping of the formula -SO2NH-R (1) in the molecule, in which R is a sulfonoxyalkyl group, are valuable and new.
According to the invention, these are prepared by converting the oxy group into a sulfonoxy group by esterification in vat dyes which contain at least one sulfonic acid N, ß-oxyalkylamide group.
The starting materials are preferably anthraquinone vat dyes containing two sulfonic acid-ss- oxyäthylamidgruppen, for example the disulfonic acidoxyethylamides of 1,5-dibenzoylaminoanthraquinone, of dibenzanthrone or isodibenzanthrone, as well as the sulfonic acidoxyethylamides of anthanthrone, dimethoxylamides
Dibenzpyrenquinones, pyranthrons, acedianthrons, flavanthrons, indanthrons, N, N'-diethyldipyrazolanthronyls, N, N'-diisopropyldipyrazolanthronyyls, anthraquinone-2,1 (N) 1 ', 2' (N) -naphthcarbanthrons, des , des 2 ', 2 "-diphenylanthraquinone-1,2 (N) -, -5,7 (N) -dithiazole.
In addition to the aforementioned sulfonic acid oxyethyl amides of the anthraquinone series, there are sulfonic acid oxyethyl amides of indigoid vat dyes, perylenedicarboxylic acid diimides,
Perinon dyes or cobalt phthalocyanine into consideration. The sulfonic acid oxyethyl amides mentioned can be obtained by reacting the corresponding sulfonic acid chloride with β-oxyethylamine. The reaction is carried out analogously to the β-haloalkylamines.
The conversion of the oxy group into a sulfonoxy group can take place by sulfation. The sulfation of the oxyethyl sulfamides is expediently carried out in conc. Sulfuric acid in the cold, for example between 0 to 20, advantageously with at least 5 parts of sulfuric acid to 1 part of dye.
The sulfation can also be carried out with oleum or chlorosulfonic acid or their addition compounds with tertiary bases or amides, for example pyridine, triethylamine or dimethylformamide.
In the following examples, unless otherwise stated, parts are parts by weight, percentages are percentages by weight, and temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example 1 10 parts of the compound of the formula
