Additional patent to main patent no. 432 693 Process for the production of dyes It is described in the main patent that vat dyes can be produced if the vat dyes contain at least one sulfonic acid-N, ß-oxyalkylamide group which converts the oxy group into a sulfonoxy group by esterification.
It has now been found that particularly valuable vat dyes containing at least once the radical of the formula -SO, NH-RX wherein X is a sulfated hydroxyl group and R is an aliphatic radical which has 4 to 5 members between NH and X, which after the Process of the main patent are obtained,
if the hydroxyl group in the corresponding bottle dyes with an unacylated hydroxyl group is given with conc. Esterified sulfuric acid. So z.
B. in vat dyes, which have the formula
EMI0001.0031
correspond, in which A, and A2 are identical or different anthraquinone radicals, Y is a hydrogen or halogen atom or a substituent and in which at least one of the radicals A ", A2 or Y has a group of the formula 2) -SO2 NH-RX ', wherein X 'is a hydroxyl group and R is an aliphatic radical,
which between the -NH- and the hydroxyl group X 'has a 4-5 membered chain, the oxy group by means of conc. Esterified sulfuric acid.
The sulfonamide radical of the formula (2) is conveniently located directly on an aromatic nucleus of the dye molecule.
Of particular interest are vat dyes containing the remainder of the formula 3) -S02 NHCH2-CH2 (Z) "_, CH2CH20X, in which n is 1 or 2 and Z is one of the groups -CH2, -0-, -S- or
EMI0001.0056
where m is an integer with a value of at most 6, X stands for a sulfuric acid radical of the formula -S03H.
The dyes prepared according to the invention contain preferably 1 to 2 sulfonic acid amide radicals, for example radicals of the formula -S02 NHCH2CH2CH.CH20SO.H -S02 NHCH2CH2CH2CH2CH2OS03H -S02 NHCH2CH2-O-CH2CH @ OSOSH -S02 NHCH2CH2 S-CH2CH2-NH0 "HCH2CH2-NH0" -CH2CH20S0 @ 2H
EMI0001.0072
In the dyes of the formula 1), Y is preferably an aryl radical,
for example a phenyl radical or an arylamino group, for example a phenylamino group. Dyes of the formula are of particular interest
EMI0002.0007
wherein AI, Az, R and X1 have the meaning given.
The structure of the compounds to be esterified is conveniently carried out by condensation of 2 moles of an anthraquinone containing an acylatable amino group with one mole of a 2,4-dichlorotriazine which has a hydrogen atom in the 6-position,
contains a halogen atom or an aryl radical. When using cyanuric chloride, a dianthraquinonylaminochlorotriazine is obtained in which the chlorine on the triazine radical can be replaced by reaction with ammonia, or in particular an amine of the formula
EMI0002.0029
The reaction can be carried out with one mole each of two different, or preferably with 2 moles of the same aminoanthraquinone.
Examples are 1-aminoanthraquinone, 1-amino-4-methoxyanothrachinone, 1-aminoanthraquinone, 6- or 7- (b-oxy-butyl) sulfonamide, 1-amino-4-, -5- or -8-benzoylaminoanthraquinone. The latter can be in the benzene radicals, for example, by halogen atoms, alkoxy, alkyl, trifluoromethyl,
Sulphonamide or alkylsulphonyl groups be substituted. There are also those Ami noanthraquinones which still contain fused carbocyclic or heterocyclic rings, for example 4-amino-anthraquinone-2,1 (N) -aeridone, 5-amino-1,9-isothiazolanthrone, the 4th - or 5-aminoanthrapyrimidine, also aminodianthrimide carbazole,
Aminopyranthrones or aminodibenzanthrones. Furthermore, the 1,4 diamino-2-acylanthraquinones, for example the 1,4 diamino-2-benzoyl, but in particular the 1,4-diamino-2-acetyl-anthraquinone called ge, of which it is known that under Under normal conditions, only the amino group in the 4-position can be acylated.
The compounds containing the radical of the formula -SO2-NH-R = OH are expediently treated with agents which release the sulfuric acid radical. This is done advantageously with conc. Sulfuric acid in the cold, for example between 0 to 20, advantageously with at least 5 parts of sulfuric acid to 1 part of dye.
The sulfation can also be carried out with Oieum or chlorosulfonic acid or its addition compounds with tertiary bases or amides, for example pyridine, triethylamine or dimethylformamide.
-Delation of the dyes produced from the esterification medium is preferably carried out by filtering. The filtered dyes can, if necessary, after the addition of neutral or weakly alkaline reacting coupage agents be dried; before drying is preferably carried out at temperatures that are not too high, if appropriate under reduced pressure.
The new dyes are suitable for dyeing a wide variety of materials, but in particular for dyeing or printing textile materials made from natural or regenerated cellulose using the customary vat dyeing and printing processes. This gives strong dyeings and prints which are distinguished by excellent light and wet fastness properties.
It is assumed that in the dyebath or on the fiber, under the action of the alkali, the radical -0X is split off under formation of a heterocyclic 5- or 6-ring with the nitrogen atom of the sulfonamide group as a heteroatom, i.e. the dye in an insoluble form is transferred.
Compared to conventional vat dyes, the vat dyes produced according to the invention have the great advantage of being able to be vat much faster. In addition, significantly less reducing agent is required for vatting. The fact that they can be easily vetted makes the dyes according to the invention particularly suitable for contour dyeing.
In the following examples, unless otherwise specified, parts are parts by weight, percentages are percentages by weight, and temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 7.8 parts of 2,4-bis- (4'-carboxyphenylamino) -6-chloro-1,3,5-triazine are in 200 parts of dry nitrobenzene with 8.0 parts Thionyl chloride and 0.5 part of anhydrous pyridine heated to 110 for 3 hours with stirring.
After the excess thionyl chloride has been distilled off in vacuo, 9.0 parts of 1-aminoanthraquinone are introduced at 100 and heated to 130 to 140 for 3 hours. After cooling to room temperature, the yellow condensation product is isolated by filtration, washed with nitrobenzene and methanol and dried.
8.0 parts of this condensation product are then slurried in 100 parts of 1% titrobenzene and 6.0 parts of 3-aminobenzene = (b = hydroxybutyl) sulfonamide dissolved in 10 parts of acetone are added. It is warmed to 180 to 185 and stirred for a further 6 hours at this temperature. After cooling to room temperature, the reaction product is isolated by filtration, washed with acetone and finally with water and dried.
10 parts of the product obtained in this way are slowly introduced and dissolved in 180 parts of sulfuric acid monohydrate at 8 to 10, while stirring. It is then poured into about 800 parts of ice water and filtered off. The moist filter cake is slurried in -500 parts of water neutralized with sodium hydroxide solution, "then filtered off and net getrock under vacuum at 60 to 70.
