Es ist ferner bekannt, Leukoschwefelsäureester von Küpenfarbstoffen nach !dem Nitritverfahren auf ein Polyestergewebe oder auf ein Mischgewebe aus Polyester- und Cellulosefasern zu färben, indem man das Gewebe in einem Färbebad, bestehend aus einer wässrigen Lösung eines Leukoschwefelsäureesters, welches ein Nitrit, eine in der Hitze eine- aliphatische Carbonsäure abspaltende Substanz und einen Färbe beschleuniger sowie ;
a Hydroxy- oder a-Cyancarbonsäuren, wie Trichlor- essigsäure, Weinsäure, Citronensäure, Cyanessig- säure, ;

Process for developing dyeings or prints with leuco-sulfuric acid esters of vat dyes on textile material. The present invention relates to a process for developing dyeings or .printing with leuco-sulfuric acid esters of vat dyes on textile material.
It is known to develop dyeings with leuco-sulfuric acid esters of vat dyes with the help of Ni trites and compounds that act as acids. This working method, known as the nitrite process, has been widely introduced in practice. The method consists in treating the fiber material with an aqueous dye solution which, in addition to any auxiliaries, contains a nitrite and a leuco-sulfuric acid ester.
The coloring solution can be applied by padding or printing. This is followed by the development of the dyeing, in that the fiber material is subjected to a steaming process (steaming process) or, if necessary, after the interposition of a drying,
Dwell or steaming process is brought into an acid-containing bath (development on the wet path).
When developing numerous leuco-sulfuric acid esters by wet means, a strongly acidic, for example hydrochloric, but preferably sulfuric acid, reaction of the developing bath is essential to achieve an optimal color yield. In practice, the development is carried out with the help of approximately 4% sulfuric acid at 60-80 C. When using weaker acids, for example organic acids, no fully developed, even color tones are obtained.
It is also known to dye leucosulfuric acid esters of vat dyes by the nitrite process on a polyester fabric or on a mixed fabric of polyester and cellulose fibers by placing the fabric in a dyebath consisting of an aqueous solution of a leuco-sulfuric acid ester, which is a nitrite, one in the Heat an aliphatic carboxylic acid releasing substance and a dye accelerator as well;
possibly contains a hydrotropic substance, blocks and a steaming process lasting at least 20 seconds with saturated steam at around 100 ° C. and then subjected to heat setting.
It has now been found that when developing dyeings or prints with leuco-sulfuric acid esters of vat dyes by means of nitrites on the wet route, even when using acids with a pK value between 0.3 and 3.5, an optimal color yield. is achieved if the development in the presence of a water-soluble copper chelate:
is carried out. Copper chelates are the complex compounds of the bivalent Kup ferion with bi- or polydentate chelating agents, for example glycine, sarcosine, nitrilotriacetic acid, but preferably ethylenediaminetetracsic acid.
The possibility of being able to develop leucosulfuric acid esters of vat dyes by wet means with the help of acids, the pK value of which is between 0.3 and 3.5, must be described as progress insofar as the application is strongly acidic . Development baths is undesirable in practice for various reasons. On the one hand, the risk of fiber damage cannot be denied, on the other hand, equipment such as containers and rollers can be attacked and destroyed by the hot sulfuric acid.
One was half of it; for a long time it was endeavored to remedy these disadvantages. For example, it has been proposed to add small amounts of non-ionic ethylene oxide addition products to the development bath in order to attenuate the metal attack.
However, this method has not proven itself in practice, since the dyed fiber material entrains anion-active agents into Ida's development bath, which over time impair the effectiveness of the protective substances. It has also been suggested to reduce the harmful effect of the developing bath by replacing some of the sulfuric acid with a weak acid.
In the process of the invention, when dyeing polyester fabrics or blended fabrics made from polyester and cellulose fibers with leuco-sulfuric acid esters of vat dyes, deeper dyeings are achieved than in the process without copper chelate.
The copper chelate is added to the coloring solution, preferably in a concentration of 0.1 to 1.0%.
Suitable acids with a pK value between 0.3 and 3.5 are: in the method according to the invention, those are those which do not have a strongly reducing or oxidizing effect or which have a negative effect on the effect of the nitrites. Such compounds are, for example, sulfonic acids, aliphatic a-halogen,
a hydroxy or a-cyanocarboxylic acids, such as trichloroacetic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid, cyanoacetic acid,;
aromatic o @ halogen or o hydroxycarboxylic acids, such as o-chlorobenzoic acid, acidic salts of strong acids, such as sodium hydrogen sulfate, also orthophosphoric acid, but above all oxalic acid.
In addition to the nitrites, especially sodium nitrite, the copper ohelate used according to the invention and the leuco-sulfuric acid ester, the staining solution can also contain other auxiliaries during the subsequent wet development, such as are usually used when dyeing with leuco-sulfuric acid esters. Such tools are z.
B. wetting agents, migration inhibitors, thickeners, end-equality agents, substances that influence the affinity and solubility of the dyes, agents that prevent oxidation and alkalis.
After the coloring solution or printing paste containing a copper chelate has been applied, the fiber material is advantageously subjected to a steaming process with saturated steam at around 100 ° C. lasting at least 20 seconds. The fiber material is then preferably treated at 60 to 80 C by Idas
Development bath. Conducted, which contains an aqueous, preferably 2 to 5% solution of acids, whose pK value is between 0.3 and 3.5. In addition, the developing bath can contain substances which prevent the overoxy- dation of oxidation-sensitive leuco-sulfuric acid esters.
The process according to the invention for developing by wet means can be carried out continuously or discontinuously.
Unless otherwise stated, parts in the examples are parts by weight. These relate to the parts by volume like the gram to the Milllikher. The temperature is given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 10 parts of the dye C.I. No. 73366 (2nd edition) are dissolved in hot water. After adding a solution containing 6 parts of sodium nitrite and a solution containing 0.2 parts of crystallized copper sulfate and 1.35 parts of the sodium salt, ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid,
is made up to 1000 parts by volume with water. A bleached cotton fabric is passed through this dye bath and squeezed off in such a way that the fabric absorbs about 67% of its weight in liquid.
The fabric then runs through a steamer for 40 seconds, which is charged with saturated steam at 100 ° C., and then for 10 seconds at 80 ° C., which contains 25 parts of oxalic acid per 1000 parts of water. After a 20-second air passage, the usual rinsing, neutralization, boiling: soapy and rinsing.
The coloration obtained in this way does not differ in any way from a coloration developed with the aid of sulfuric acid in terms of depth and brilliance. If the copper compound is omitted in this example, a significantly weaker color is obtained.
Example 2 In the manner indicated in Example 1, 15 parts of the dye, according to CI No. 73 361, 6 parts of sodium nitrite, 0.2 parts of copper sulfate, 1.35 Parts of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and 2 parts of the addition product of 9.10 moles of ethylene oxide with nonylphenol produced a coloring solution. This solution is colored as in Example 1, steamed and for 10 seconds at 80 C in a bath,
which contains 30 parts of orthophosphoric acid per 1000 parts of water.
The coloration obtained in this way does not differ in any way from a coloration developed with the aid of sulfuric acid. It is also on the same side and ends.
Example 3 In the manner indicated in Example 1, 10 parts of the dye according to C.I. 73 361 6 parts of sodium nitrite, 2 parts of the addition product of 9-10 moles of ethylene oxide on nonylphenol, 0.2 parts of crystallized copper sulfate, 1.35 parts of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and 20 Share ammonium formate to make a staining solution.
A polyester fabric is passed through this dyebath at room temperature and the liquid content is squeezed to 55% of its weight. The fabric then passes through a steamer for 20 seconds, which is filled with saturated steam at 100 C,
and then a dry heat chamber at 200 ° C. for 60 seconds. Then it is processed as usual.
The coloring obtained in this way differs from a coloring produced in the same way but without RTI ID = "0002.0218" WI = "10" HE = "4" LX = "1846" LY = "2669"> addition of the copper compound by its deeper color .
Example 4 20 parts of the dye according to C.I. No. 59 826 are dissolved in hot water and 500 parts of tragacanth 6% are added as a thickening agent. After adding 10 parts of sodium nitrite and an aqueous solution containing 0.2 parts of copper sulfate and 1.35 parts of ethylenedi, amine tetraacetic acid, the volume is adjusted to 1000 parts with water. Bleached cotton fabric is printed with this printing paste,
After intermediate drying, steamed for one minute in steam at 100 ° C., developed according to the information in Example 1 and dispatched.
With regard to depth of color and brilliance, the print obtained in this way does not differ in any way from a color developed with the aid of sulfuric acid. If the copper connection is omitted, the pressure will be weaker.
