Process for the production of new vat dyes The present invention relates to a process for the production of new anthraquinone vat dyes which contain at least one carboxyl group but are free from carboxamide groups and have at least one heterocyclic 6-membered ring which has two nitrogen atoms as heteroatoms and no halogen adjacent to a ring stick atom contains atoms.
As is well known, the term anthraquinone vat dyes includes dyes of the anthraquinone series which are converted into a so-called leuco form or vat, which has a better affinity for natural or regenerated cellulose fibers than the non-reduced form, and which revert to the original form by oxidation the chromophore system.
As vat dyes of the anthraquinone series, not only derivatives of the pure 9,10-dioxoanthracene come into question, but also thiophenanthrone residues and the like, as well as the 9,10-dioxoanthracene rings, which are further on and condensed carb:
Contain ocyclic and heterocyclic rings, or consist of two or more anthraquinone units, which are directly or, for example, via a -, NH bridge, -CH-NN = CH bridge, AAyl, enoider arylieudiamine bridge, or via one or more Imidazole, triazole, triazine, cyamelurs:
acid, pyrimidine, quinazoline, oxazole, thiazole or oxdiiazole rings are connected to one another.
The following are examples of anthraquinone vat dyes: anthrapyrimidines, anthrapyridones, isothiazole anthrones, quinazoline anthraquinones, oxazole anthraquinones, thiazolanthraquinones, oxdiazolanthraquinones, anthraquinonyltrachine, azoquinonyltriazoles, pyrazolanthraquinone, azo-azoquinones, arazolethrazone-anthraquinones, arazolethrazone-anthraquinones, arazolethrazone-anthraquinones, pyrazolethrazone-anthraquinones, arazolethrazone-anthraquinones, arazolethrazone-anthraquinones,
Azabenzanthrones, Anthraquinone Acridones, Indanthrones, Thioxanthone Anthraquinones, Anthrimides, Anthrimide Carbazoles, Dihydroacridines, Antanthrones, Pyranthrones, Dibenzpyrenchinones, Dibenzanthrones, Isodibenzanthrones, Flavanthrones, Acedianthrones,
Phthaloyl compounds bi- and polynuclear hydrocarbons, as well as sulfur-containing vat dyes, which were obtained from mono- or polynuclear anthraquinone derivatives by a sulfurization process.
Such vat dyes according to the invention are the dyes of the formula

mentioned, but especially those that consist of a heterocyclic six-membered ring and several anthraquinone units, and which are obtained by condensation of aminoanthraquinones with halogenated diazines, eg.
B. with 2,4-dichloropyrimidine, 2,4-dichloro-5-nitropyrimidine, 2,4-dichloro-6-methylpyrimidine, 2,4-dichloro-6-phenylpyrimidine, 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine, tetrachloropyrimidine, 2 , 4-dichloro-quinazoline, 2,4-dichloro-6,7-benzquinazoline, 4-chloroquinazoline, 2-chloroquinazoline, 2,4-dichloro-6,7-phthaloylquinazoline, 2-phenyl-4-chloro-6,7 -phthaloylquinazoline, 2- (anthraquinonyl-2 ') - 4-chloro quinazoline,
1,3-di- (4'-chloro-6 ', 7'-phthaloyl quinazolyl-2') benzene, 2,3-dichloroquinoxaline, 2,5-dichloropyrazine, 4,4'-dichloro-6,6 ' -diphenyl-1,1 ', 3,3'-bis-diazine, 1,4-dichlorophthalazine, 2,6-dichloro-8,9-benzpteridine, trichloropurine, where in the condensation product any adjacent ring nitrogen atom is still present Halogen atoms are replaced by other groups,
which are connected to the heterocyclic six-membered ring via an oxygen, sulfur or nitrogen maple, for example by reaction with water, amines, alcohols, phenols, mercaptans, etc.
In addition to at least one carboxyl group, the dyes can also have the substituents customary in vat dyes, such as. B.
Halogen atoms, alkoxy groups, alkyl groups, sulfonic acid amide groups, sulfonic groups and the like, as well as reactive substituents, but not contain any carboxamide groups and no halogenated pyrimidine and triazine radicals.
Sulphonic acid groups are to be understood here as meaning stable sulphonic acid groups which are not split off in the vat.
The new dyes are obtained when an anthraquinone free from carbamide groups or an anthraquinone vat dye free from carbamide groups, which has at least one amino group and optionally at least one sulfonic acid group and / or a carboxyl group, with halogenated,
at least one carboxyl group-containing 6-membered heterocycles with two nitrogen atoms as heteroatoms are condensed in such a way that halogen-free condensation products are formed, or if anthraquinones which are free of carbamide groups and which have at least one halogenated diaz = ing,
with amines containing carbo- oxyl groups ibis to replace the halogen atoms, condensed with amino groups.
The starting materials used are aminoanthrachinone and aminbianthraquinone vat dyes which do not have a carbamide group, but may already have the carboxylic acid group characteristic of the dyes according to the invention and additionally an amino group with a reactive hydrogen atom.
The condensation with halogenated diazines, such as halopyrimidines, in particular tri- and tetrachloropyrimidine, should of course be carried out under conditions that do not allow the carboxylic acid groups present in the starting materials to be split off, or, if no carboxylic acid groups are present in the starting materials, with subsequent introduction of at least one such group be taken before, e.g.
B. by condensation of a carbamide-free vat dye, which already has a diazine ring and z. B. has an exchangeable chlorine or bromine atom, with amines having a carboxyl group, e.g. B. aminobenzoic acids.
The dyes obtained according to the present process are new. They are suitable for dyeing a wide variety of materials, but in particular for dyeing or printing textile materials made of natural or regenerated cellulose by the usual vat dyeing and printing processes. The dyeings and prints obtained there are distinguished by excellent light and wet fastness properties.
The dyeings obtained with the dyes according to the invention which have at least two anthraquinone units are also fast to dry cleaning and fast to migration. The dyed fabrics can therefore be coated with synthetic resins, for example with polyvinyl chloride, without the dye migrating into the plastic, which is particularly important in the manufacture of synthetic leather.
Compared to the classic vat dyes, the vat dyes according to the invention have the advantage of better leveling and dyeing properties; In the apparatus dyeing, even if foam formation occurs, they do not give off any discoloration due to the excretion of reoxidized dye, and they are used in the dyeing of wound packages, e.g. B.
Cross bobbins or tricots on the reel vat, pigmentation required with classic vat dyes is omitted with the dyes according to the invention; They can also be used in the form of solutions in the rapidly running padding processes and do not need a special dough shape, so that the associated disadvantages (instability of the dough, dust and the need for one or more operations to produce finely dispersed powders) disappear.
Finally, as a rule, they can be vitrified very easily, often at room temperature, and optionally with mild reducing agents. They have very good solubility in the vat and, especially on regenerated cellulose, strong and very level dyeings are obtained which have the same shade as the corresponding cotton dyeings.
In the following examples, unless otherwise stated, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. The ratio between one part by weight and one part by volume is the same as that between grams and milliliters.
Example 1 4.2 parts of 4-amino-anthraquinone-2,1- (N) -acridone are used together with 3; 0 parts of 2,3-dich, or-quinoxaline-6-carbonic acid (Melting point 278) finely suspended in 45 parts of a-chloromaphthalene. The suspension is heated to 195, stirred for 7 hours at this temperature, cooled and filtered. The residue is washed with hot ethanol, 5% sodium carbonate solution and again with hot ethanol and dried.
The dye of the formula thus obtained
EMI0003.0028
is a chlorine-containing, dark blue powder that can be blotted with a dark wine-red-violet color and colors natural or regenerated cellulose in real olive-green tones.
If the product described above is treated further with 4-phenyl-aniline by the method given in Example 3, the dye of the formula is formed
EMI0003.0035
which dyes natural or regenerated cellulose from ruby red vat in real, greenish-olive tones.
Example 2 A suspension of 4.1 parts of 1-aminoanthraquinone and 2.0 parts of 2,3-dichloroquinoxaline-6-carboxylic acid in 30 parts of α-chloronaphthalene is heated to 180, Stirred for 16 hours at this temperature and 414 hours at 220, cooled and separated by filtration. The residue is washed well with hot ethanol and dried. The dye of the formula obtained in this way
EMI0003.0045
is a dark orange, crystalline product that can be vat very easily with its cherry red color.
It gives clear, golden-orange dyeings with excellent fastness properties.
Example 3 A suspension of 5 parts of Pz-dihydroxypyrazinoanthraquinone in a mixture of 100 parts of nitrobenzene and 1.8 parts of dimethylformamide is mixed with 8.2 parts of thionyl chloride, heated to a bath temperature of 105 ° and at this temperature for 1 hour Tem perature stirred.
The excess thionyl chloride is removed from the resulting solution under reduced pressure and then 5 parts of 1-amino-anthraquinone-6-carboxylic acid are added. A thick, crystalline suspension is formed, which is heated to a bath temperature of 160, stirred for 1 hour at this temperature and then for 1 hour at 180 bath temperature, cooled and filtered off with suction. The residue is washed with hot ethanol and dried. The dye of the formula thus obtained
EMI0004.0006
is a dark orange, crystalline powder.
It can be easily vetted with a cherry-red color and gives cotton clear golden-orange dyeings with good fastness properties, in particular light fastness.
Example 4 A fine suspension of 4.2 parts of aminoacethrone and 2.85 parts of 1- (4-canboxyphenyl) -4,5-dichloro-pyridazon- (6) (Austrian patent no .
219 042) in a mixture of 60 parts by volume of a-chloronaphthalene and 0.5 parts of pyridine is stirred for 1 hour at 210, 1 hour at 220, 16 hours at 225 and 24 hours at 235 to 240, cooled and filtered. The residue is washed with hot ethanol and dried. The dye thus obtained corresponds to the formula
