Fig. 1 die beispielsweise Vorrichtung in Vorderansicht, Fig. 2 die Vorrichtung gemäss Fig. 1 ! in Seitenan- sicht,
Fig. 4 einen Schnitt gemäss Linie IV-IV der Fig. 3.
Device for packing bulk goods in one
Protective gas atmosphere
The invention relates to a device for packaging bulk goods that are particularly sensitive to air-oxygen, for example coffee, milk powder and the like. The like. With the exclusion of air in a protective gas atmosphere, the material being introduced into bag packs separated by this tube from a container which is sealed off in a void-tight manner, through a mandrel around which a tube is formed from at least one web of packaging material.
It is known, for example, to fill coffee into an airtight container after it has been roasted, to suck out the air that has penetrated from this container and to replace it with a protective gas. An airtight storage funnel of a packaging machine, in which a protective gas atmosphere is also present, is connected to the container via a valve. This storage funnel opens into a hollow mandrel around which a tube made of flexible packaging material is continuously formed.
At the end of the mandrel, the tube part, which is closed at its lower end and filled with a certain amount of material, is separated and separated from the rest of the tube by a transverse seam, with an airtight transverse seam also being attached to the lower end of the remaining tube. The filling of the amount of material into the respective lower hose part takes place through the hollow mandrel by means of an intermittently rotated feed screw arranged in this.
In this known device, keeping air oxygen away from the item to be packaged causes considerable difficulties at the point at which the finished tube is fed to the mandrel end and the item is filled into the tube end.
In order to eliminate these difficulties, the device according to the invention is characterized in that such parts are arranged on the forming mandrel that the hose formed is held in abutment over the entire cross-sectional circumference against the forming mandrel in such a flexible manner that the pulling of the hose over the forming mandrel is not hindered. This simple embodiment ensures that the ambient air is prevented from entering the packaging tube and completely oxygen-free packs are produced in which, above all, goods sensitive to air and oxygen are protected from spoilage.
The means mentioned for the flexible installation of the packaging material search on the circumference of the form mandrel advantageously consist of several rotatably mounted rollers which are held elastically against the form mandrel and can also be driven in time with the pre-cutting device if the hose conveyance is to be supported . It is furthermore also possible to use several metal sheets resting under spring pressure against the outer surfaces of the mandrel or optionally also compressed air as such press-on means, which is directed from nozzles against the circumference of the mandrel in the direction of the mandrel.
If the means mentioned are designed as rollers, then the circumference of the mandrel can have several flat surface pieces running in the longitudinal direction of the mandrel so that one of the rollers is assigned to each surface piece in the same cross-sectional plane.
In order to feed the filling material into the hose end, a pipe socket can be arranged in the mandrel, at the outlet opening of which a cyclically controlled closure member for intermittently airtight sealing of the outlet opening is arranged.
In addition, a vacuum line and a protective gas line can be inserted into the mandrel, so that these two lines open out in the vicinity of the outlet opening of the said pipe socket and are each controlled by a valve. This makes it possible to first generate a vacuum in the formation of a pack and then fill it with a protective gas, or else exclusively to produce a vacuum pack in which there is no protective gas.
An embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to schematic drawings.
It shows:
1 shows the device in front view, for example, FIG. 2 shows the device according to FIG. 1! in side view,
Fig. 3 shows a mandrel in longitudinal section and on an enlarged scale,
FIG. 4 shows a section along line IV-IV in FIG. 3.
In the present exemplary embodiment, the packaging device has a feed pipe 1 which can be closed at its lower end by a closure element 2. The bulk material to be admitted through this pipe 1 is preferably already under protective gas. Following this closing element 2, a feed funnel 3 is connected to the pipe 1 in an airtight manner, which opens down into a pipe socket 4 and in which a protective gas atmosphere prevails when the machine is in operation. The pipe socket 4 is surrounded by a mandrel 5, which in the present embodiment has a rectangular cross-section and consists of four side walls 6, 7, '8, 9 (Fig. 4).
The mandrel 5 is attached to the frame 11 by means of a carrier 10, which contains the drive means, not shown, and control point for operating the device (Fig. 3).
A tube is formed around the mandrel 5 in a manner known per se - in the present embodiment, for example, from two flexible packaging material webs 12 and 12 '- so that its longitudinal overlaps are welded by means of heated sealing jaws 13. Below the mandrel 5 are in a known manner on a Slides 14, which are moved up and down in cycles, have two sealing jaws 15, guided so as to be movable relative to one another, for separating bag packs P from the tube and for applying sealing seams to the divided bag pack and to the remaining tube end.
On the sealing jaws 15, separating means (not shown) of a known type are also provided, which separate the bag pack P produced in each case from the tube.
So that no air penetrates into the lower part of the Paok fabric hose or into the bag pack P which is currently being formed, the forming mandrel 5 in its lower area, in which the packaging hose is already finished, means for laying the hose over the entire length .
Assigned mandrel cross-section, so that the pulling of the Schlíauches over the mandrel 5 is not hindered. In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 4, these means consist of four rollers 16, 17, 18, 19, which are rotatably mounted on pivotable levers 20, 21, 22, 23 and which in pairs by means of tension springs 24, 25 resiliently against the associated side walls 6, 7, 8, 9 of the mandrel 5 are held in contact.
While the levers 20 and 21 are pivotally mounted on a common support 26 fixed to the frame 11, the other two levers 22 and 23 are individually pivoted on stud bolts 27, 28 fixed to the frame 11 (FIGS. 3 and 4). It should be noted that the four mentioned rollers can optionally also be driven in order to contribute to the conveyance of the hose.
In order to press the hose against the mandrel 5, other measures can also be used, in particular in the case of a round or oval mandrel cross-section, for example compressed air blown against the hose from nozzles.
In the present example, material quantities are filled into the end of the hose by means of a screw 30 rotated intermittently in the pipe socket 4 (Fig.
3). This worm 30 is shown in FIG. 2 by an Elelttromotor 31 via a clutch 32, a bevel gear 33, 34 and a vertical shaft 35 is driven. The coupling 32 and the bevel gear 33, 34 are accommodated in a housing 36 which is connected to the feed hopper 3 in an airtight manner.
In order to prevent filling material from trickling down, a closure cone 50 or a pair of flaps is provided at this pipe socket end (FIG. 3). This closure cone 50 is seated on a transverse web 51 which is attached to two vertical rods 52, 53.
The closure cone 50 is in its closed position, i.e. by springs 54, 55, which are supported on a guide piece 56 fastened in the mandrel 5 and on the other hand on collars 57 of the rods 52, 53. held against the lower edge of the pipe socket 4 in a sealing system. To release the lower end of the pipe socket during each filling process, the rods 52, 53 and thus the cone 50 are pressed downwards against the action of the springs 54, 55 by means of a cyclically pivoted fork lever 58, so that the cone 50 has an annular exit gap at the lower pipe socket edge releases.
In order to produce a particularly pure protective gas atmosphere in the bag packs P, protective gas lines 40 and 41 are introduced into the upper end of the mandrel 5, the openings of which are either in the upper part of the mandrel 5 or in a space 80 that is located at the lower end of the filling .- nozzle 4 is formed between the guide piece 56, the closure cone 50 and the hose end.
The supply of protective gas through these lines is Ibei; For example, it is regulated by means of solenoid valves 42, 43 which are cyclically controlled by the device, so that protective gas is supplied when the hose end is removed and filled.
Obviously, it is thus also easily possible to produce packs with a slight negative pressure by limiting the permeability of the protective gas and thus the filling of the packs with Schutagas by appropriate control of the valves.
In addition, protective gas is fed to the feed funnel 3 via a valve 48 through a protective gas line 49.
The bag packings P separated from the hose fall into a horizontally extending channel 45 arranged below the mandrel 5, the bottom of the bag pack P containing the transverse seam being formed flat. This transverse seam enters a horizontally running groove 46 at the bottom of the channel 45, which is designed as a helical switch and thus deflects the bottom seam of the bag when it is pushed further from the vertical into the horizontal plane. Since the seam is still warm from the time it was sealed, the seam folded over in this way remains in this position.
The transverse displacement of the bag packs P in the channel 45 is carried out by a mechanically, pneumatically or hydraulically operated slider 47, which performs a forward and backward stroke in action (FIG. 2).
The last-mentioned device for bottom formation can not only be used in the present exemplary embodiment, but can also be provided in the same way in other machines with which similar bag packages are produced with or without protective gas filling.
In addition, reference can be made to the fact that the tools for forming the packaging tube are expediently designed in such a way that four rib-like reinforced edges are created on the tube, as is known per se, by sealing the packaging material in two layers at these points in narrow zones . When using several packaging material webs such ribs are already formed by the fact that the web edges are sealed to one another with their inner sides during the production of the longitudinal seams. Such ribs reinforce the edges of the bag pack and largely prevent the formation of porous areas as a result of mechanical stress on the packaging material during handling and transport of the bag.
