Verpackungsmaschine
Fig. 1 eine perspektivische Ansicht einer Verpackungsmaschine,
Packing machine
The present invention relates to a machine for packaging objects in, in particular, warmly sealed packaging material.
Packaging machines are known in which a heat sealable packaging material in the form of a web is withdrawn from a supply roll, folded in the longitudinal direction and converted into a tubular shape by means of a heat seal, into which the objects to be packaged are inserted. The packaging tube, which receives the objects at certain intervals, is led intermittently into a welding and cutting device, where the tube is closed transversely between two objects and thus forcibly forms a closed, welded package.
Known machines of this type, in which the pulling device is moved back and forth between the end of the folding and welding part and a support device or a channel, are only suitable for packing objects of a very specific length. For example, if the articles are shorter than those for which the packaging machine is designed, there is a risk that the articles to be packaged will fall between the pulling, welding and cutting device and the carrier tape or the channel. When packing long items, such as sausages and the like. Ä., There is also the risk that they are clamped between the pulling device and the end of the folding and closing device, since they bend and in this way interrupt the packaging process.
The present invention aims to obviate these difficulties and to provide a packaging machine which allows articles of various sizes to be packaged.
The machine according to the invention therefore comprises means for folding a web of the packaging material in the longitudinal direction into tubular form, first closing means to connect the edges of this web to one another and thus to create a continuous tubular body, further means to gradually place the objects to be packaged therein to introduce a tubular body, a reciprocating pulling and locking device which comprises holding and locking means to move the tubular body together with the objects forward, second locking means to close this tubular body transversely directly between two following objects, and Medium,
in order to grasp the tubular body at these cross-locking seams and thus to form a cross-lock at the rear end of the foremost object and at the front end of the next following object, a strap for holding the packaged objects in a plane which practically extends from the end of the folding and first Closing means extends to the ejection end of the machine, and further rollers which are operatively connected to the belt and for the purpose of movement with the pulling device, these rollers being arranged in such a way that they form a recess in the normal belt plane to enable parts of the retaining and closing means to move below the main plane of the belt during the removal movement of the pulling device.
It is possible either to anchor the carrier belt firmly at both ends in the frame of the machine or to design it as an endless conveyor belt guided over rollers.
One of these rollers can advantageously be provided with a coupling that is responsive in one direction of rotation.
It is also possible to arrange a pusher member for reciprocating movement in the tubular body in order to move the objects to be packaged step by step in connection with the pulling device, this pusher member comprising a shaft which is provided with a plurality of flaps arranged at equal intervals, which can fold down by 900 on the backward stroke of the push link.
With the help of this shaft, the objects located in the supply channel can be gradually grasped by the rear flap or flaps and pushed into the folded, tubular body by means of the front flap, whereupon the packaging is completed with the help of the holding and closing jaws.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention will then be explained with reference to figures. Show it:
1 shows a perspective view of a packaging machine,
2 shows a similar view of the folding channel and the closing device of the machine according to FIG. 1 and FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 are side views of the endless conveyor belt of the folding channel with the push member and the clamping and closing device in two different working positions.
In the figures, a housing 1 of the machine can be seen, at one end of which an endless conveyor belt 2 for supplying the items to be packaged and a pair of upright supports 3 are arranged with a supply roll 13 heat-weldable packaging material stored in these. The supports 3 also carry a pair of guide rollers 5 and a pair of tension rollers 6, over which the web of packaging material 4 runs after it has been pulled off the supply roll 13. A folding channel 8 is detachably attached to a height-adjustable packing table 7. In continuation of the channel 8 and coaxially with it, an endless conveyor belt 9 runs above which there is a pulling and closing device 10 which can be moved back and forth in the longitudinal direction.
In the folding channel 8 lies an inner channel 11 with a reciprocating push member 12 that can be moved back and forth therein. The inner channel 11 is provided at the end facing the pulling and closing device 10 with a cover plate 22 which forms a support or a table , on which the overlapping edges 14 of the material web 4 can be welded together in the longitudinal direction with the aid of a welding device to form an endless tubular body. The edges 14 are formed by means of a pair of inwardly directed fold lips
16, which are formed or arranged on the upper edges of the folding channel 8, folded over one another.
At the inner end of the conveyor belt 2 carrying the objects, a feeding or dosing box 17 is arranged above the folding channel 8. The bottom of this box is formed by a pair of downwardly hinged flaps 18 which enable the objects to be packaged to enter the channel 8 one after the other in the sequence delivered by the conveyor belt. However, the objects to be packaged can be fed in in any other way.
The endless conveyor belt 9 serves to support the tubular body filled with the objects to be packaged in the plane of the channel 8.
It practically extends from the end of the folding and closing means 15 and 16 to the ejection or unloading end of the machine. The tubular body is pulled out of the folding channel 8 by means of the pulling and closing device 10, which moves back and forth along the endless conveyor belt 9. The endless conveyor belt 9 runs over rollers 26, 27.
The pulling and closing device 10 comprises holding and closing jaws 19 and 20, as well as a cutting device 21. Below the holding and closing jaws 19 and 20, the endless conveyor belt 9 is guided downwards over rollers 23, 24 and 25, so that it is practically V-shaped To form a recess in the main belt plane, which enables the lower holding and closing jaw 20 to move below the plane of the conveyor belt 9 during the return movement of the pull dog closing device 10, as will be described in more detail elsewhere.
Since the pulling and closing device 10 can be moved back and forth in the longitudinal direction, the V- or U-shaped guide in the belt 9 must also be able to perform this movement with it. For this purpose, the shafts of the rollers 23, 24 and 25 are arranged on the frame of the pulling and closing device 10, so that this roller can be moved back and forth along the conveyor belt 9 together with the pulling and closing device 10.
The push member 12 comprises a shaft 12a which is provided at both ends and in the middle with flaps 28, 29 and 30 which can be pivoted through 900.
The flaps 28, 29 and 30 are therefore held in their vertical position during the movement of the pusher member 12 against the pulling and closing device, while on the backward stroke of the pusher member 12 these flaps pivot upwards into the horizontal and slide over the objects to be packed . The reciprocating movement of the pusher element 12 is brought about in connection with the reciprocating movement of the pulling and closing device 10, it being possible for corresponding drive means (not shown) to be provided. The stroke of the pulling and closing device 10 and of the pusher member 12 is adjustable, for the purpose of adapting the machine to the different lengths of the objects to be packaged, as will be explained below.
The operation of the packaging machine is as follows:
In order to package objects of a given size, the folding channel 8 adapted to this size is attached to the packaging 7. A web 4 of heat-sealable packaging material, for example cellophane, polyethylene or polypropylene, is then pulled off the supply roll 13, folded around the inner channel 11 and placed together with this in the folding channel 8. The free edges 14 of the web 4 protrude upwards over the greater part of the length of the channel 8 (FIG. 2) and are folded over one another by means of the folding lips 16, whereupon they are welded together between the closing device 15 and the cover plate 22.
The material web 4 is shaped in this way into a tubular body with an approximately rectangular cross-section, which is then pulled by hand through the channel 8 and fixed between the holding and closing jaws 19, 20 of the pulling and closing device 10.
The pulling and closing device 10 is then moved away from the folding channel 8 so that the tubular web is pulled out of the folding channel 8 and at the same time is closed transversely by the closing device 10, in such a way that behind the folding channel 8 a bag made of synthetic plastic material is created, which is attached to its front end (Fig. 2) is closed. In the meantime, one or more objects 31 to be packaged have reached the feed and metering box 17 via the conveyor belt 2. As soon as the bottom flaps 18 of the dosing box 17 open, the object falls into the inner channel 11, where it is grasped by the rear flap 3 of the push member. The pusher member 12 is then operated to push the article a predetermined distance against the newly formed tubular body.
It then returns with the flap open, which slides over the corresponding object. This object is grasped by the flap 29, whereupon a new object is lowered in front of the flap 30. During the next forward movement of the pusher member 12, the two objects are pushed towards the pull dog locking device 10 by a further, predetermined distance. When the pusher 12 returns, the flap 28 engages the end of the first and flaps 29 and 30 the ends of the second and third items
During the subsequent stroke of the pusher member 12, the first object is pushed into the bag just formed with the aid of the pivoting flap 28.
The holding and closing jaws 19 and 20, which have closed the end of the bag and pushed the tubular body forward by the same predetermined distance, are now opened and move back towards the folding channel 8 over the filled bag. Here, these jaws 19 and 20 again grasp the tubular body immediately behind the folding channel 8, pull it to the level of the channel 8 and at the same time provide the tubular body with two cross closures arranged parallel to one another, so that the filled bag is now completely closed. At the same time a new bag was also formed. Finally, the tubular body is separated between the two parallel closures by means of a cutting device 21 which is arranged on the pulling and closing device 10.
The bag filled in this way is pushed out by the movement of the endless belt 9 and a new filling cycle begins.
During the forward or to the left in the figures lifting movement of the pulling and closing device 10, the endless belt 9 is carried along in the longitudinal direction due to the friction of the rollers 23, 24 and 25 and acts as a conveyor belt.
The pulling and closing device 10 then pushes the object 31 to the left into the bag so that it comes to rest on the conveyor belt 9. Before the start of the backward stroke of the pulling and closing device 10 to the right, the holding and closing jaws 19 are opened, the lower holding and closing jaw 201 entering the V-shaped deflection of the endless conveyor belt 9 below the plane of this belt. In this way, the holding and closing jaw 20 can be passed under the object 31 without touching it. This is extremely important since the holding and locking jaw 20 is extremely heated.
In order to prevent the endless belt 9 from moving during the return movement of the pulling and closing device 10 due to the friction of the rollers 23, 24 and 25, one of the end rollers 26 and 27 is provided with an overrunning clutch which allows it to move in only one direction .
Instead of an endless conveyor belt 9 which runs over the rollers 26 and 27, a fixed belt can also be provided which is arranged between two fixed points, corresponding to the rollers 26 and 27. In this case, with the reciprocating movement of the pulling and closing device, the rollers 23, 24 and 25 slide back and forth over the non-displaceable belt.
The packaging machine described is particularly suitable for packaging objects of various sizes, only one folding channel 8 and one inner channel 11 of the correct size and shape to be used, to which size the stroke of the pull dog locking device 10 and the push member 12 is to be adjusted accordingly. Of course, the width of the material web and the distance between the pivoting flaps 28, 29 and 30 must also take into account the size of the object to be packaged. The stroke of the pulling and closing device 10 is adjustable between 4 and 36 cm. It is obvious and of the greatest importance that when packing items between 20 and 36 cm in length, it must be taken into account that such an item must be supported throughout its entire packaging route.
This is achieved in the machine described, in contrast to the known machines in which the object is largely not supported during the closing operation, which in the case of long objects causes them to sag or sink. Another difficulty of this type encountered with the known machines results from the movement of the hot holding and closing jaws into their starting position so that the lower jaw must be passed under the object to be packaged. This difficulty is eliminated in a very effective and simple manner in the machine described.
While the present invention has been described in particular for the application of heat sealable material, this is of course just as much for self-sealable material, which z. B. is provided with an adhesive spread on one side, usable, this adhesive e.g. B. can be based on latex, which have the properties of entering into an adhesive bond with itself, but not with other material.
These materials are known in the packaging industry. The device described can also be used for such packaging material, neither the closing device 10 nor the closing means 15 being heated.
