Description
Drive device for printing cylinders of rotary printing machines The invention relates to a driving device for the printing cylinder of a reversible rotary printing machine, which is pivotably mounted in eccentrics, with the aid of helical gears arranged on one side of the machine.
The change of direction., D. H. Changing the direction of rotation of the printing units was previously in the. This is done in a way that a number of gears on both sides of the machine
Reverse running were arranged, which could optionally be engaged via a shaft reaching from one side of the machine to the other. For perfect printing without streaks, however, only helical gears are suitable for the drive, and play-free engagement must also be present when the printing cylinder mounted in eccentrics is more or less engaged.
To make this possible, the axes have already been arranged: the pressure cylinder of the eccentric adjusting this ver and the sliding wheel engaging in the wheel on the pressure cylinder shaft arranged in one plane. The use of a drive arranged on both sides of the machine is, however, costly because of the covers to be attached on both sides, which must also be suitable for mounting the wheels.
In addition, the shaft reaching from one side of the machine to the other is unwieldy and impairs the accessibility of the two different paper guides required in color printing.
In the case of a drive of the type mentioned at the outset, these disadvantages can be eliminated according to the invention by: that. the gear train, which is arranged between the wheel, which is driven by the main shaft, and the wheel on the printing cylinder shaft, consists of a double gear wheel, the two ring gears of which are spaced apart from one another equal to the width of one of these ring gears,
a turning wheel with twice the width of one of the gears of the Dop pelrades and a sliding wheel having the same width as one of the ring gears of the wheel is available, which can be brought into engagement with the wheel of the printing cylinder and optionally with a wheel depending on the direction of rotation of the printing cylinder .
This measure makes it possible to: accommodate the entire drive on one side of the machine and only cover the front of the machine with a thin sheet metal box.
The front is simplified by eliminating the handles required to operate the sliding wheel and the electrical limit switches and the like.
In the drawing is a. Embodiment of the invention shown schematically. It shows: Fig. 1 is a side view of a two-cylinder printing unit, Fig. 2 is a plan view of the position of the wheels of the drive when the printing cylinder is rotating, Fig. 3 is the position of the wheels when the printing cylinder is rotating ...
The two-cylinder printing unit consisting of two printing cylinders 1 and two plate cylinders 2 is driven in a known manner via a standing shaft 3 and bevel gear pairs 4, with the interposition of the wheels 5, 6, 7.
The wheel 5 engaging in the wheel 4 is designed as a double gear wheel, the opposite pitch of which is arranged at a greater distance from each other: than the tooth width of the sliding wheel 7. A double-wide sliding wheel 6 can be brought into engagement with the right-hand toothing of the wheel 5 .
When the pressure cylinder rotates to the right, the wheels are brought into the position shown in FIG. 2 by shifting the wheels 6 and 7, so that the drive from wheel 4 via the left-hand slope gear half 5, via the right-hand wheel 7, to the double-wide, left-hand wheel : the pressure cylinder shaft takes place.
When the pressure cylinder rotates to the left, on the other hand, to maintain the same direction of rotation of the vertical right shaft 3, the wheel 6 and wheel 7, as can be seen from FIG. 3, have to be shifted so that the drive from wheel 4 to the left-hand half of wheel 5 from the right-handing half of which takes place to the left-handing wheel 6 via the right-handing wheel 7 to the left-handing pressure cylinder wheel.
