ledit arbre central étant logé à l'intérieur de l'arbre de la fraise et étant maintenu élastiquement dans une position axiale déterminée par rapport à l'arbre de la fraise, le tout étant agencé de manière que lorsque la fraise est abaissée par ledit mécanisme d'actionnement, l'arbre central descend également et il se produit successivement les opérations suivantes: a) la fraise et l'arbre central descendent à vide jusqu'à ce que l'arbre central touche la pièce à frai ser; b) l'arbre central est immobilisé et maintient bien en place la pièce pendant que la fraise usine la pièce à la profondeur désirée;
Milling machine The present invention relates to a milling machine, comprising a vertical shaft cutter driven in rotation by a drive device, the shaft of the cutter being movable vertically under the action of a actuation mechanism. This milling machine is characterized by a central shaft passing right through the machine and protruding upwards and downwards from the latter,
said central shaft being housed inside the cutter shaft and being held resiliently in a determined axial position relative to the cutter shaft, the whole being arranged so that when the cutter is lowered by said mechanism actuation, the central shaft also descends and the following operations take place in succession: a) the cutter and the central shaft descend empty until the central shaft touches the workpiece; b) the central shaft is immobilized and holds the part securely in place while the milling cutter machines the part to the desired depth;
c) at the end of milling, a solid micro-switch of the cutter support is actuated by the upper end of the central shaft, which reverses the movement of said actuating mechanism, so that the cutter rises and walks away from the room.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the milling machine which is the subject of the invention.
The single figure is an axial sectional elevation of this embodiment.
The machine shown comprises a frame 1 in which is slidably mounted a sleeve or keel 2, which is integral with a collar 3; the latter is connected to an actuating mechanism, not shown, of known type, for example hydraulic, which makes it possible to raise and lower the collar 3. The collar 3 carries a rod 4 which is guided in a ring 5 carried by the frame 1. In a support 6 fixed to the upper end of the rod 4 is mounted an adjusting rod 7. A knurled chicken 8, screwed onto the threaded lower end of the rod 7, allows the position to be adjusted. axial tion of the rod 7, a coil spring 9 biasing the rod 7 upwards.
At its upper end, the adjustment rod 7 carries an arm 10 carrying two micro-switches 11 and 12, the role of which will be explained below.
A vertical shaft cutter 13, provided with teeth 14 on its lower field face, is carried by a hollow shaft 15 which pivots in the bush 2 by means of two ball bearings 16. The shaft 15 is rotatably secured to a pulley shaft 17, but these two shafts 15 and 17 can move axially with respect to each other by virtue of a known device having pins secured to one. shafts and engaged in grooves in the other shaft. In the present case, the pulley shaft 17 occupies a fixed axial position, and it is the shaft 15 which can go up or down, as explained below.
The pulley shaft 17 is integral with a stepped pulley 18 over which passes a belt 19 connected to a driving device not shown, for example an electric motor. Two ball bearings 20, separated by a spacer sleeve 21, ensure the pivoting of the pulley shaft 17 in the frame 1. A clamping plate 22 closes the frame 1 on its upper face.
A central shaft 23 passes right through the machine and protrudes upwards and downwards with respect to the latter. It is housed inside the shaft 15 of the cutter 13 and the pulley shaft 17 and is guided, on the one hand, by a fixed support 24 and, on the other hand, by two ball bearings 25 and 26. The central shaft 23 is resiliently held in a determined axial position with respect to the shaft 15.
For this purpose, a pin 27 secures the central shaft 23 with a neck support collar 28 and a weak coil spring 29 rests, on the one hand, against the support collar 28 and, on the other hand , against a second bearing flange 30, the latter in turn pressing against the ball bearing 25. In the position shown, the res out 29 pushes the washer 28 downwards and makes it press against the bearing ball 26, so that the central shaft 23 occupies its lowest possible position. the upper end of the central shaft 23 is threaded and carries a hard-friction rotating nut 31, this nut being intended to actuate the micro-switch 11, as explained below.
Below the machine is a table 32 having at least one housing 33 intended to receive the part 34 to be milled.
The machine shown and described operates as follows: By the belt 19, the pulley 18 is rotated, which also rotates the pulley shaft 17 and the shaft 15, therefore the cutter 13. A certain distance separates the teeth 14 of the part 34, this distance being slightly greater than the distance separating the lower end of the central shaft 27 from the back of the part 34. Under the action of a control not shown, the mechanism d The actuation described lowers the collar 3 and the sleeve 2, this movement being done at high speed. The cutter 13 and the central shaft 23 therefore descend empty, at high speed, until the central shaft 23 touches the bottom of the part 34 to be milled.
At this time, the central shaft 23 is immobilized and holds the part 34 in place, by pressing it to the bottom of the housing 33. The bush 2 continuing to descend, the rods 4 and 7 do the same, so that the nut 31 carried by the central shaft 23 actuates the button 35 of the microswitch 11, which has the effect of replacing the rapid descent of the cutter 13 by a slow descent (or working descent). The cutter 13 therefore descends slowly and begins to mill the part 34 to the desired depth.
At the end of milling, the upper end of the central shaft 23 meets the button 36 of the microswitch 12, which reverses the movement of said actuating mechanism, so that the cutter 13 rises and moves away from it. part 34. The coil spring 29, which was compressed during the immobilization of the central shaft 23, now acts and pushes the central shaft 23 downwards, so that the latter returns to its initial position . The cycle is finished and a new cycle can start again.
You can adjust the exact moment at which the microswitches 11 and 12 must be actuated, on the one hand, by acting on the chicken 8 and, on the other hand, by turning the nut 31 screwed on the upper end of the the central shaft 23. It should be noted that the central shaft 23, which plays the role of a feeler, does not turn around its axis.
The machine described, of very simple construction, allows parts to be milled with very great accuracy in the machining depth.
