Injektionsspritze

Injection syringe
The invention relates to an injection syringe which is to be used with particular advantage for self-injection. Known syringes of this type can only inadequately meet the requirements to be placed on them. They have a housing accommodating the ampoule with a displaceable, pointed injection needle at both ends and a piston guided in the housing and acted upon by a compression spring, as well as a locking and triggering device for the piston, which when the lock is released under the action of the relaxing spring Pushes the needle out of the housing and squirts the contents of the ampoule through the needle.
The high material expenditure in the production of such syringes is contrary to the only one-time use that is aimed at today. For reasons of long storage life, glass or metal ampoules had to be used. While a glass ampoule is fragile and requires careful handling of the syringe, metal ampoules are only suitable for certain medications. In addition, they are opaque and therefore their content cannot be checked for foreign bodies or air bubbles.
The requirement for sterility when installing and storing the cannula or ampoule could only be met with difficulty. Ultimately, handling the syringe was made more difficult, which is particularly important because self-injection can be expected to inhibit the user, who can easily be tempted to withdraw the syringe from the body shortly before the crucial moment and thereby interfere with the injection or to thwart.
All these shortcomings of known embodiments of injection syringes are remedied by the invention in that, according to the invention, the housing receiving the ampoule and the needle and the actuating mechanism for the syringe each form a self-contained unit, both of which can be assembled and exchanged to form the ready-to-use syringe. This gives the possibility of using the ampoule and cannula only once, while the part of the syringe containing the actuation mechanism is retained and can be used for a new injection, and the possibility of exchanging the chamber with the ampoule and cannula, if a different ampoule filling seems desirable.
A transparent unbreakable ampoule, e.g. B. made of plastic, for use, which is housed in a vapor-tight sealed chamber. The unit comprising the actuating mechanism is suitably seated in a correspondingly long housing, the front part of which is set up for the exchangeable reception of the chamber containing the ampoule lennggregat.
The transparent plastic ampoule allows you to check for foreign bodies and air bubbles.
It is unbreakable, while the syringe can be stored for a long time by being housed in a steam-tight sealed chamber.
Without the vapor-tight enclosure, the contents would gradually migrate outwards through the wall of the plastic ampoule.
The piston belonging to the actuation of the syringe is particularly advantageously arranged with a shaft through the rear floor of the housing, on which the compression spring acting on the piston rests, and an outwardly projecting conical edge on both sides is provided on the shaft end, while on the outside of the housing sebodens radially outwardly movable locking members are arranged around the piston shaft in such a way that they grip behind the edge in their inner end position, whereby they are enclosed by a retaining ring, which in turn sits in a release cap that is axially displaceable on the housing and is axially together with it is displaceable that it releases the locking members in its other end position, so that they step radially outwards under the influence of the piston striving forward and release the piston in the process.
The locking elements are expediently formed from balls or rollers that are captured or released by the axially displaceable trigger so that they in turn grip the edge provided on the piston shaft or are pressed outwards by the compression spring acting on the piston when it is released. This ensures a particularly easy and sensitive triggering of the syringe and, after the injection has taken place, a simple return of the piston when the spring is tensioned again.
Another advantage is that the locking members are rigid parts that do not tire in their action even with continuous use of the syringe, as could be the case if the locking members are formed from springs or attached to them, which of course with the inventive Tip is also possible without departing from the scope of the invention.
The idea of the invention allows the most diverse implementation options. Some of them are shown in the attached drawing, namely:
Fig. 1 is a section through the ampoule unit;
2 shows a section through the unit comprising the actuating mechanism, the locking members for the piston shaft and the trigger being omitted;
3, 4, 5 and 8 each show a longitudinal section through different embodiments of the locking device for the piston shaft accommodated in the release cap;
6 shows a section along the lines VI-VI through FIG. 3;
7 shows a section along the lines VII-VII through FIG. 4, and
FIG. 9 shows a section along the lines IX-IX through FIG. 8.
The part of the syringe that receives the ampoule is shown in FIG. It consists essentially of a cylindrical chamber 1, in the interior of which the ampoule 2 containing the medicament is guided. The ampoule 2 and at the same time also the chamber 1 are closed by a plunger stopper 3. At its front end, the ampoule carries the displaceable cannula 5 in a holder 4, which is pointed at both ends. The cannula tip is in front of a membrane 6 that closes the ampoule.
The front end of the cannula 5, on the other hand, extends into a closure 7 that closes the chamber at the cannula end and ends here behind another membrane 8, which, if necessary, has to be pierced by the cannula 5.
After being filled and closed, the chamber forms a closed unit under sterile conditions that can be handled without endangering the sterility of its contents.
The part of the syringe comprising the actuation mechanism is shown in section in FIG. 2 and essentially consists of a housing 9, in the extension 10 of which the ampoule part according to FIG. 1 can be inserted. At the front end of the housing part 10, an exchangeable snap ring 12 is seated in a collar 11 and holds the ampoule part 1 to 8 inserted in the housing 10. In the rear part of the housing 9, a piston 13 is guided, which rests with its front collar 14 against the piston stopper 3 of the ampoule 2 when the parts are nested and, on the other hand, with its shaft 15 through an opening 16 in the housing bottom 17 sufficiently far to the outside passes through.
Inside the housing 9, between the housing base 17 and the collar 14 located at the front end of the piston 13, the compression spring 18 that actuates the piston sits. The release cap 19 is guided over the rear end of the housing 9.
The compression spring 18 must be secured in the tensioned position in the ready position of the syringe. For this purpose, at the end of the piston shaft 15 there is an outwardly projecting double conical edge 20 which works together with suitable locking members. In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, individual tongues 21 arranged around the piston shaft 15 are used as locking members, which are mounted in the housing bottom 17 and are provided with an inwardly directed crank 22 near their end. With this crank they lie behind the edge 20; on the other hand, guide pieces 23 are seated at the ends of the tongues 21, with which the tongues 21 are supported in a retaining ring 24 which is inserted into the interior of the release cap 19.
This ring has a collar 25 with which the guides 23 of the securing members 21 are gripped, so that at the same time the release cap 19 is secured against unintentional removal from the housing 9.
The release cap is placed in such a way that a free space 26 remains in its bottom, in which a cam disk 27 is accommodated. This sits eccentrically on an axis 28 of an adjusting button 29 mounted in the release cap and is just large enough that its axis can be turned into the axis of the interior space 30 within the locking members 21 by turning the button 29.
In the ready position of the syringe, the position of the individual elements according to FIG. 3 is given. The release cap 19 is supported with the cams 27 against the ends 23 of the locking members 21, so that axial displacement is excluded. Only when the axis of the cam 27 is rotated into the axes of the empty space 30 by turning the knob 29 can the release cap 19 be pushed axially further onto the housing 9. In this case, the retaining ring 24 emerges from the guides 23 of the locking members 21. The locking members 21 are thus no longer combined radially.
The tensioned compression spring 18 acting on the I piston can now drive the piston 13 forward, whereby the double conical shape of the edge 20 and the cam-like elevations 22 on the locking members 21 spread them outward so that they actually move the piston release.
Conversely, however, the piston 13 can also be returned to its starting position (standby position) with the aid of any suitable tool if the piston 13 is pushed back after the ampoule part 1 to 8 has been removed. The edge 20 runs over the bead 22 of the locking members 21 again. In the rear end position of the piston, the release cap 19 is pulled off the housing 9 again by a certain amount, so that the retaining ring 24 encompasses the locking members 21 again. By turning the adjusting knob 29, the cam 27 is turned back into its blocking position.
The actuating mechanism is thus secured in its ready position again.
In the arrangement of the parts according to FIG. 4, to secure the piston 13 on the outside of the correspondingly designed housing bottom 17 'on axially extending pins 31 with considerable play, cylindrical rollers 32 with conical ends which grip behind the edge 20 provided on the piston shaft 15 and are mounted On the other hand, place yourself in the retaining ring 24 of the release cap 19 '.
One of the pins 31 is provided with an extension piece 33, which is supported on the correspondingly thick base of the release cap 19 '.
A recess 34 is provided in the bottom of the cap for this extension piece 33.
The effect of the parts corresponds to that of Fig.
3. If the release cap 19 'is rotated so far that the recess 34 coincides with the pin 33, the release cap 19' can be axially displaced and the retaining ring 24 for the locking rollers 32 can be brought into its release position. As a result of the design of the roller 32 or the edge 20 on the piston shaft 15, the parts slide from one another again under the action of the compression spring 18 and the piston is released.
The compression of the piston 13 and the renewed tensioning of the spring 18 take place in the opposite manner.
A simplified embodiment of the syringe is shown in FIG. Here the edge 20 on the piston shaft 15 is encompassed by resilient retaining clips 35 which are fastened to the bottom of the release cap 19 and which have two cutouts 36 and 37 lying one behind the other at their ends.
Finally, the ends 38 of the springs 35 are bent obliquely outwards. For the actuation of the springs 35 there is a push button 39 in the bottom of the release cap 19, which rests with its head 40 against the first breakout 36 of the springs. In this embodiment, the release cap is placed on the housing 9 so that it cannot be displaced in the axial direction.
In the tensioned position, the piston shaft 15 is held by the inwardly resilient parts 35, in that their breakouts 37 grip behind the edge 20. By pressing the push button 39, the spring can be pressed radially outward so that the breakouts 37 release the edge 20 and the piston can snap forward under the action of the compression spring 18.
When the piston is tensioned, however, the edge 20 strikes the spring ends 38 which are bent outwards. These spread outwards and with their bends 37 snap back behind the edge 20.
In the embodiment of the actuating device according to FIGS. 8 and 9, the housing 9 'behind the base 17' has an extension 45 in which a release ring 46 is guided. The ring 46 has an inwardly extending collar 47. With this it also guides itself axially displaceably on a bushing 48 which, including the piston shaft 15 ', is provided on the housing bottom 17'.
The ring 46 has a narrow recess 49 and a wide recess 50. Beads 51 arranged around the piston shaft 15 'around the piston shaft 15' around spherical shape are used, which have a fairly large bore 52 and by a common holder 53 in their circular position the piston skirt 15 'are secured around.
The release ring is continued beyond the housing extension 45 and is provided here with a cover 54 that closes the housing. On the other hand, however, the edge of the housing 45 has cutouts 55 into which projections (not shown) provided on the cover 54 can enter when the cover 54 is correspondingly rotated together with the release ring 46.
When the compression spring 18 acting on the piston is tensioned, the triggering end of the syringe is expediently turned upwards and the piston is pressed into the housing 9 '. The edge 20 'of the piston shaft passes through the securing balls 51. The release ring 46 is now to be pulled off the housing until the balls which grasp the edge 20 'have entered the narrow recess 49. At this moment the piston is secured in its cocked position. The cover 54 with the ring 46 must be rotated so far that its stops come away from the recesses 55 provided in the housing 45. If, however, the syringe is to be actuated, it is sufficient to twist the cover 54 with the ring 46 until it can be moved axially.
The recess 49 releases the locking balls 51, which are held by the end of the sleeve 48. They reach the area of the wide recess 50 and are pressed radially outward by the conical contact surface on the edge 20 'until the piston is released and can snap forward under the action of the tensioned spring 18.
