Automatic bagging machine for determined quantities of goods,
for example vegetables
The present invention relates to an automatic bagging machine for determined quantities of goods, for example vegetables. The generalization of the sale of vegetables in bags or weighed nets gives it a particular interest, in particular for long vegetables, which it ensures the storage in the bag or net.
This machine is characterized by the fact that it comprises a sleeve carrying on the outside a reserve of tube closed at one end, a mandrel driving into this sleeve a determined quantity of the goods to be bagged, the latter pushing back the closed end. tube to draw a corresponding length, and means arranged at the outlet of the sleeve, to ensure, on the one hand, the tightening of the tube behind the load, on the other hand, its stapling along two longitudinally spaced lines, in its tightened part, and finally the sectioning of the tube between these two lines.
In one embodiment, the synchronized movements of the various mechanisms of the machine can be provided by hydraulic or better still pneumatic cylinders because of the smooth operation they provide.
In a more simplified variant, these mechanisms can be partly actuated separately, and by hand.
A very schematic embodiment of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawings, the baggage being assumed to be carrots.
In these drawings
Fig. 1 is an overall view of the machine, plan view.
Fig. 2 shows the supply transporter alone in profile.
Fig. 3 is a partial view corresponding to FIG. 1, and showing the position of the organs at the end of the bagging operation.
Fig. 4 shows on a larger scale and from the front the closing, stapling and cutting members of the bags, in the open position.
Fig. 5 shows these same members in the closed position.
Fig. 6 is a corresponding profile view.
Fig. 7 is a detail view of the cutting device.
In a frame, not shown, moves step by step an endless conveyor designated as a whole by A, and for example consisting of two chains 1 winding on end drums 2, one of which is a motor. These chains carry buckets 3 with open side faces, preferably cylindrical in shape, and also open at their upper part. Each of these buckets receives a weighed load of the goods to be bagged, for example 1 kg of carrots, in the example chosen. This transporter moves against a fixed flange 4 pierced with a circular opening 5 of diameter corresponding to that of the buckets 3.
On the other side of the conveyor A is mounted coaxially with the opening 5 a sliding mandrel 6, extended by a rod 7 carrying a rack 8 and suitably guided between rollers 9.
In the rack 8 engages a toothed pinion 10 connected, via a reduction pulley 11 and a belt or chain 12, to an electric motor 13 with direction reverser.
On the face of the flange 4 opposite the conveyor is fixed in a rapidly removable manner, by means of a bayonet or sliding system 14, for example, a sleeve 15 of internal diameter corresponding to that of the opening 5. It comprises to its free end a bead or cord 16. On this sleeve is threaded and tightened a certain length of tube 17 intended to supply the bags or packaging nets by sectioning.
At the free end of the sleeve 15 there are closing devices B and cutting devices C (FIG. 3) more particularly shown in FIGS. 4 to 7. They consist essentially of two pliers associated with two staplers or strapping machines and two knives.
In the example shown, the branches 20, 21 of each clamp pivot about a fixed axis 22 carried by the frame. On the branch 20 of the two clamps is pivotally mounted a jack 23, the rod 24 of which is articulated on their other branch 21. The upper end of the branch 20 forms two guide fingers 26, 27 leaving between them an interval of decreasing width. . At its entry, this width corresponds to the diameter of the sleeve 15; at its bottom, it ends in a groove 28.
The other branch 21 comprises a finger 29 identical to the finger 26, and a pusher 30 which corresponds to the lower guide finger 27 of the branch 20.
The branch 21 of each clamp also carries a stapler 31 of any type, acting in the axis of the groove 28, the two staplers being controlled by a common jack 32.
The branch 20 also carries a knife 33, and the branch 21 another knife 34 with a V-edged edge, the apex of which coincides with the groove 28. These two knives together constitute the cutting mechanism C of FIG. 6.
The operation of the machine described and shown is as follows:
The transporter A advancing step by step, each of its buckets 3 successively presents itself in front of the opening 5 of the flange 4, and stops in front of the latter. The mandrel 6 controlled by the electric motor 13 then moves to the left in FIG. 1, by driving the carrots contained in the cup to the inside of the sleeve 15 where they are stored. At the end of the stroke, the mandrel 6 occupies the position shown in FIG. 3, the carrots which have remained in rows having pushed back before them a certain length of the tube 17 threaded onto the sleeve 15 and braked by the bead 16, the tube 17 being closed by stapling at its end, following the previous operation. The load of bucket 3 is thus passed, beyond the closing and cutting device.
B, C, to bag 35.
The mandrel 6 then returns back, and the two clamps B close on the tube 17, behind the bag 35, gradually tightening this tube by the effect of the fingers 26, 27, 29 and 30 until it either entirely housed, at the end of the stroke, in the groove 28. The jack 32 then comes into action to, on the one hand, staple the rear end of the filled bag 35 and, on the other hand, staple the anterior end of the remaining tube 17, the knives 33, 34 acting at the same time to cut the tube between the two staples and thus separate the bag 35.
The clamps B then open under the action of the jack 23, releasing the filled, closed and stapled bag, which slides on an inclined table 37 which supported it, to be collected in a suitable container.
The operations described are repeated cyclically until the reserve of tube 17 threaded on the sleeve 15 is exhausted, this sleeve then being able to be quickly replaced by another identical sleeve lined with tube.
Of course, the stroke of the mandrel 6 will be adjustable according to the length and / or the number of objects to be contained in each bag. The same machine may also be equipped with sleeves and pushers of different diameters.
As has been specified, the bagging machine described advantageously ensures the storage of bagged objects, when these are of elongated shape such as, for example, in addition to carrots, turnips, asparagus, endives, etc. It can also ensure the bagging of leafy vegetables such as spinach or sorrel, or fruits such as nuts and almonds.
The above enumeration is moreover in no way limiting, and this machine is of course applicable to the bagging of any other merchandise such as canned food, toys, etc. The sleeve 15 can be loaded simply by gravity, the machine then working obliquely or vertically, instead of operating horizontally as has been described. Carrier A will then be deleted.
The tube 17 intended to supply the bags 35 may or may not be made of transparent synthetic material, but it will preferably consist of a net of cotton or of synthetic material.
In a variant, the clamps carrying the guide fingers could be replaced by rectilinear slides. The jacks can be of any existing model and, for example, mechanical, and electrically controlled. Finally, the synchronization device can be pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical.
