Device for focusing binoculars The invention relates to a device for focusing binoculars, in particular Galileo glasses, which have a folding bridge for adjusting the individual telescopes to the eye relief. Many proposals have already been made to solve this mechanical problem in an economically satisfactory manner.
The present invention has the advantage that, on the one hand, it has a relatively large number of round parts that can be economically manufactured on automatic machines, and that, on the other hand, there are pressure castings on which only a few additional operations have to be performed.
As with most of the known proposals, there are in the construction according to the inven tion on a fixed articulation axis mounted between the two binocular halves Einrichtun conditions for moving the eyepieces along the optical axis rule.
Characteristic of the present invention is that a sleeve with a rigid two-sided support arm is moved on the articulation axis by a stationary rotatable nut, which engages in slots in the eyepiece tubes, which in turn are guided in the binoculars carrying the objective. The water structure makes it possible to make this leadership of the eyepieces compared to the built in the housing Ob jectives very long and thus comparatively accurate; tilting of the eyepieces and thus different focusing of the two halves of the binoculars does not occur.
The radial slots in the eyepiece tubes can be dimensioned so large that the support arm has sufficient leeway when the glass is bent, i.e. when it is adjusted to the eye relief. To do this, he takes up the space that the kink bridge formed by the housing parts allows him. So that it lies at least almost symmetrically in it, a two-sided leaf spring can be provided which is fastened with its center to the support arm and rests with its two ends inside the housing.
1 and 2, an embodiment of the invention is described in a section containing the optical axes and the bending axis, and in a further section running perpendicular to these axes. Only one of the two telescope bodies was drawn.
The telescope body 1 contains the cemented ob jective 2 and leads the tube 3 with the eyepiece 4. In a radial slot 31 of the tube 3, the support arm 5, which is guided with the cylinder 51 on the fixed axis 6, engages. The external thread 52 is encompassed by a corresponding nut thread of the rotary knob 7, which at 71 has an easily gripped corrugation and is guided by the screw 61 and the washer 62 on the axis 6.
The axle 6 contains, under its head 63, the two arms 11 which carry the housings 1; a resilient washer 64 and the nut 65 secure a speedy gait.
The spring 8 is attached to the lever 5 near the axis 6 and rests with its two free ends on the inside of the housing of the articulated bridge.
