Zylinderampulle
Cylinder ampoule
The invention relates to a new-colored design of a cylindrical ampoule with an injection cannula surrounded by a protective cap that can be used as a piston rod.
A number of proposals have been made for cartridges. The injection cannula is usually firmly connected to the material of the cylinder ampoule, e.g. B. in that the cannula is melted into the end of the ampoule. In the case of other cylindrical ampoules, the ampoule carries a push-on cone at the end intended for receiving the cannula, on which the cannula is fastened with a push-on sleeve. These known embodiments have not been able to fully satisfy, since z. B. the usability of the cannula is impaired by the temperature required to melt it in glass and the connection metal-glass is exposed to great loads in the event of temperature fluctuations, which results in a relatively high exclusion rate in the production of cylindrical ampoules.
In addition, in the case of cylindrical ampoules with a fused-in cannula, as well as for ampoules connected to the cannula via a push-on cone, it is very difficult to attach a removable protective cover for the cannula that can be used as a piston rod. Attempts to avoid the difficulties described in the manufacture of cylindrical ampoules have been to manufacture the cylindrical ampoule from plastics. It has been found, however, that it is difficult to attach the cannula absolutely securely and tightly in the plastic. It has also been shown that the plastic material used for longer storage z. B. of drug solutions is not suitable because it is not sufficiently impermeable to air and water vapor.
The present invention relates to a cylindrical ampoule in which the specified disadvantages of the already known cylindrical ampoules are completely eliminated by the fact that a cannula holder piece on the ampoule body which, in conjunction with an insert piece, fixes the cannula provided with a thickening in every direction and at the same time serves as a seat for a protective cap that surrounds the injection cannula and can be used as a piston rod, is fastened with a flanged cap.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in a single figure with a longitudinal section.
It means:
1 the ampoule body with a beaded edge, 2 a rubber sealing ring, 3 an insert piece on which the thickening 4 of the cannula rests and the cannula protrudes into its bore, 5 a cannula holder piece that also serves as a seat for the removable protective cap 7 that can be used as a piston rod, 6 a Crimp cap made of metal, 8 a rubber stopper for sealing the cannula, the effect of which can be enhanced by a mandrin 9 which is fastened in the stopper 8 and seals the cannula.
All parts of the cylinder ampoule must of course be made of a perfectly sterilizable material. The insert 3 consists of a non-elastic or only slightly elastic material, so that the cannula is centered and fixed by this insert with respect to the ampoule opening. The cannula is given a firm hold against lateral displacement by the cannula holding piece 5. The cannula holding piece 5 encloses the flange of the insert 3 protruding from the neck of the ampoule and both parts (3 and 5) together enclose the thickening 4 of the cannula, so that the cannula is fixed immovably in every direction.
The cannula holding piece 5 and the rubber ring 2 are fastened absolutely securely to the beaded edge of the ampoule body with the aid of the crimp cap 6, whereby the insert 3 and the cannula are fixed in their position at the same time. The cannula holding piece 5 is preferably made of a somewhat elastic material, since then, despite the inevitable small fluctuations in the diameter of the bore intended for receiving the cannula, a secure and tightly closing holding of the cannula is guaranteed.
In addition to the already described advantage that the cannula is securely fixed in every direction with the cylinder ampoule according to the invention, the present invention also enables all parts of the fully assembled cylinder ampoule to be perfectly sterilized.
The part of the cannula holding piece 5 serving as a seat for the protective cap 7 can be designed in the form of a truncated cone or in the form of a cylinder. In the particularly expedient cylindrical shape, it is advantageous to provide channels 12 at the front end. During the sterilization of the fully assembled, unfilled cylinder ampoule, the protective cap 7 is then placed on the cannula holder 5 only so far that the cavity 10 surrounding the cannula is connected to the sterilization medium via the channels 12. After the end of the sterilization, the protective cap 7 is then brought into the final position, with the channels 12 being closed. At its front end, the protective cap 7 can have a thread 11 which, if the protective cap is to be used as a piston rod, is screwed into a thread of the stopper serving as a piston.
