Description

To keep the leg in line, to refine it, to remove the swelling, pain, burning sensation or the purplish-red appearance that it sometimes presents, we generally use lotions or creams which are applied by friction . This method of treatment is harmful.

Indeed, the friction necessary to make the product penetrate, liquid or pasty, accentuates the redness, irritates the skin, increases the feeling of heating, in short, congests the tissues which should instead be decongested. This mechanical action can also have a disastrous effect on the veins in the leg. In addition, skin absorption by friction remains limited, because it is not possible, by short-term friction, to penetrate the skin only a little. Finally, friction on the surface of both legs is a long and tiring job.

The object of the present invention is to provide, in a much more efficient and practical manner, medical and aesthetic care for the legs, using liquid products applied without friction; its object is a stocking for leg care, characterized in that it comprises an elastic absorbent sheath intended to be impregnated with a liquid product and made up of a material retaining its elasticity in the impregnated state, said sheath being at inside a waterproof plastic envelope.

This stocking brings the treatment product in sufficient quantity into contact with the entire leg and has the advantage over a bath of using much less product; it is elastic, which allows intimate contact with the tissues of the treated leg.

The absorbent sheath is preferably made of cotton or any other absorbent textile, in woven or knitted form. The elasticity is ensured by elastic rubber threads, for example incorporated in the absorbent material, and can be increased by weaving or knitting by providing ribs for example.

This absorbent sheath previously soaked in product applies to the leg a quantity of this product greater than that which would be spread by harmful friction and much less than that required for a bath at a prohibitive price. In addition, the application can be carried out in a prolonged manner which can vary from one hour to twenty-four hours or more, maintaining the product in contact with the skin and thus ensuring maximum skin absorption. This application is done simultaneously over the entire surface of the leg.

It is faster and less tedious than the use of bands that are wrapped around the leg to be treated.

The absorbent sheath is surrounded by an impermeable outer envelope which also has the shape of a stocking constituting a protective cover for the clothing and preventing the diffusion of the liquid which must remain in contact with the legs. Such an envelope is made of an impermeable and elastic plastic material which can be resistant, but thin, light and flexible allowing all the movements of the legs, without discomfort or the feeling of heaviness.

It is preferably made of poly + nZnil chloride, polyethylene or similar plastic material, implemented by welding or blowing; it prevents the evaporation of the active and sometimes volatile substances of the product, finally it allows the interested party to put on their shoes.

A suspender support can be provided to keep the stocking in place or a tightening by an elastic border.

In the above, it has been assumed that the elastic absorbent sleeve and the cover, both in the form of a stocking, are two separate pieces which are threaded over the leg one after the other. However, the two parts can be united in a single piece, the impermeable envelope being lined internally with fabric of absorbent material. In use, the stocking is turned upside down to present the absorbent material on the outside which is impregnated with the treatment product. Then when the material is suitably soaked, the whole is turned over and the leg is inserted in a single operation.

The accompanying drawing shows by way of example an embodiment of the stocking which is the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 shows the two parts and their use.

Fig. 2 is a partial view in section showing the constitution of the two parts.

As seen in fig. 1 for the treatment of the leg 1, an absorbent sheath 2 made of cotton for example is used. This sheath shown in A is in fact an absorbent and elastic stocking. This absorbent stocking is soaked in the treatment product and is placed on the leg as shown in C, keeping the leg in a real bath of the product.

The sheath 2 is covered by an envelope 3 in the form of a stocking (shown at B) made of impermeable plastic. This stocking forming protection can be provided with an elastic tightening or fitted with a suspender support.

As said above, the two envelopes 2 and 3 can be combined into one.

The stocking described maintains a real permanent bath of treatment product in contact with the leg. It provides the effects which are ordinarily required of thermal cures and even reinforced by the choice and concentration of active products and the duration of application. It has the advantage of allowing treatment at home without any immobilization of the person concerned who can go about all his occupations, because it does not prevent them from putting on their shoes or coming and going. In addition, it is not unsightly, being able to be concealed under clothing, pants, bathrobe. etc.

It can be taken on a trip, allowing uninterrupted treatment. It can be used in bed during sleep.
