Anilin-2-sulfonsäure, Anilin-2,5-disulfonsäure, 3-Amino-benzotrifluorid-4-sulfonsäure, 2,4-Dimethyl anilin-6-sulfonsäure, 4-Chlor-5-methyl-ariilin-2-sulfonsäure, 5-Chlor-4-methyl-anilin-2-sulfonsäure, 4-Chlor-anilin-2-sulfonsäure, 3,4-Dichlor-anilin-6-sulfonsäure, 4-Methoxy-anilin-2-sulfonsäure und 5-Methoxy aniän-2-sulfonsäure.
Diese Ausgangsmaterialien kann man in ver, schiedener Reihenfolge miteinander zur Umsetzung bringen. So kann man beispielsweise eine Diazonium- verbindung,, welche aus dem aromatischen Amin der Formel A-NH2 erhältlich ist;

Die neuen Azofarbstoffe eignen sich insbesondere für dieses Druckverfahren. Gegenüber den Farbstoffen des genannten belgischen Patentes besitzen die neuen Farbstoffe den Vorteil, dass sie in den verwendeten Druckpasten sowie im genannten Druckverfahren beständiger sind, und zwar insbesondere in jenen Fällen;
Process for the production of new monoazo dyes The present invention relates to a process for the production of new, especially red, monoazo dyes, which are suitable for dyeing cellulose textiles, the dyeings obtained being fast to wet treatments, and those in their free, acidic form correspond to the following formula:
EMI0001.0012
wherein A is a sulfonated phenyl radical containing no hydroxyl, amino or monoalkylamino groups, X is a halogen atom, R is a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl radical,
R1 is a hydrogen atom or a urisubstituted phenyl radical and one of the radicals Y is a sulfonic acid group and the other radical Y is a hydrogen atom, which is characterized in that the diazonium compound of an aromatic amine of the formula A-NH2, a cyanuric halide ,
either aniline or ammonia and a naphthol of the formula
EMI0001.0039
implemented with each other. The radical A can, for example, be a sulfonated phenyl radical, which is also z. B. by alkyl radicals, such as. B. by methyl radicals, by halogen, such as. B. chlorine or bromine, by alkoxy such. B.
Methoxy or ethoxy radicals, or substituted by carboxylic acid radicals, mean. The dyes preferably have an o-sulfonic acid group.
The remainder R can e.g. B. represent methyl, ethyl, butyl or oxyethyl radicals.
The starting materials are advantageously used in approximately equimolecular amounts. Suitable naphthols of the formula II are, for. B. 1-Amxno-8-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid, 1-methylamino-8-naphthol 3,6-disulfonic acid, 1-ethylamino-8-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid, 1-butylamino-8-naphthol -3,6-disulfonic acid, 1-amino-8-naphthol-4,6-disulfonic acid and 1-butylamino-8-naphthol-4,
6-disulfonic acid. Suitable aromatic amines of the formula A NH are, for. B.
Aniline-2-sulfonic acid, aniline-2,5-disulfonic acid, 3-amino-benzotrifluoride-4-sulfonic acid, 2,4-dimethyl aniline-6-sulfonic acid, 4-chloro-5-methyl-ariline-2-sulfonic acid, 5 -Chlor-4-methyl-aniline-2-sulfonic acid, 4-chloro-aniline-2-sulfonic acid, 3,4-dichloro-aniline-6-sulfonic acid, 4-methoxy-aniline-2-sulfonic acid and 5-methoxy aniane 2-sulfonic acid.
These starting materials can be reacted with one another in different order. For example, a diazonium compound, which is obtainable from the aromatic amine of the formula A-NH2;
couple with the naphthol of formula II. and reacting the cyanuric halide in any order with about 1 mole of each of the aminoazo compounds thus obtained and with ammonia or aniline. On the other hand, you can use the cyanuric halide in any order with the naphthol of the formula <RTI
ID = "0002.0012"> 1I and react with ammonia or aniline and couple the product thus obtained with a diazonium compound obtained from the aromatic amine of the formula A-NH2. Another way to work is to first react the cyanurologide with the naphthol,
the product thus obtained is coupled with the diazonium compound and then the dihalo-tria-znylamino-azo compound thus obtained is reacted with ammonia or aniline.
When carrying out the above process, the various steps can be carried out, if desired, in a single vessel without isolating the intermediate products. It is preferable to use an aqueous medium, but care will be taken:
carry;. that hydrolysis. the halogen atoms that adhere to the triazine nucleus in the cyanuric halide, in the various intermediate products and in the dye ultimately obtained.
The reaction stage at which the first halogen atom of the - cyanuric halide is set; preferably takes place. at a temperature below 5 C. Temperature, but if necessary one can also. Apply higher temperature.
In general, a higher temperature than in the first working stage will be used. For:
. that - apply stage in which the second halogen atom of the cyanuric halide - are replaced. should. If the coupling component used in a coupling stage contains a triazine ring, the coupling is preferably carried out with one of the following:
. low pH ,. which a clutch, in o-position. to the hydroxyl group: of the naphthalene nucleus - able to effect.
The dye obtained can be isolated according to the customary methods for: Isolating water-soluble dyes. In general, this is done by precipitating the dye. as sodium salt - by: addition. from. - Table salt :: for-. Reaction medium and filtering off and drying the precipitate obtained.
In. Belgian Tatent Nr: _543218 a process for dyeing: Cellulose textiles is disclosed, after which the textile material is impregnated in an aqueous medium with a monoazo or polyazo dye, whereby this dye is thereby:
-marked that he is at least - one. ionogenic., solubilizing group and at least one primary or secondary amino group; welehe ... as_N-substituents one at least = one one T;

In said patent specification, a process for printing cellulose textiles is also described, by applying a printing paste to the textile material which contains one of the mono- or polyazo dyes defined above and, via this, an acid-binding agent or a substance which, when heated or Steaming sets an acid-binding agent free, has, and here on the textile material first dries and then the action .. of heat or steam - subject.
The new azo dyes are particularly suitable for this printing process. Compared to the dyes of the Belgian patent mentioned, the new dyes have the advantage that they are more stable in the printing pastes used and in the printing process mentioned, in particular in those cases;
where the acid binding agent used is a more alkaline agent than sodium bicarbonate. Furthermore, the hues obtained with the red dyes described in the Belgian patent: are the. undesirable property that they become less washfast over time. Fastness to washing is .under ordinary:.
Circumstances are very weak, but accelerated when stored in a humid, acidic atmosphere. The new azo dyes are superior to this. in that the shades obtained in this way retain their wash fastness to a much greater extent.
In the following examples the parts and the percentages are given by weight.

The reaction mixture is stirred until no more unchanged 1-amino # 8-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid remains in the resulting solution: 40 parts of sodium acetate crystals are then added to the solution and the temperature is allowed to rise Rise by 5 to 10 C.
The solution of the monocondensate thus obtained is mixed with a solution of 12.95 parts of aniline hydrochloride in 150 parts of water over the course of 15 minutes.
The mixture is stirred for 20 hours; The temperature is allowed to rise to 5 to 20 C. A 2N sodium carbonate solution is then added to the mixture in order to neutralize the mixture to litmus, whereupon 40 parts of sodium acetate crystals are added and the solution. at a temperature of. 5 - to.- <B> 10o </B> C .. cools.-.
The suspension of the secondary condensation product obtained in this way is carried out within 15 minutes with a suspension. Diazo compound, mixed from 15, -7 parts of anilm-2-sulfonic acid and.

This dye has properties similar to the one obtainable according to Example 1: dye. and provides dyeings and prints on cotton which have similar fastness properties. <I> Example 3 </I> Diazotized aniline-2-sulfonic acid is with- 1 (2 ';

A solution of 12.95 parts of aniline hydrochloride än = 150 parts of water is added to this solution and the mixture is heated to 30-35 ° C. As the reaction increases, the development of hydrochloric acid occurs.
Then ver one sets with 2N sodium carbonate solution in order to make the solution neutral on Congo red paper. The temperature is maintained for so long;
until neutralizing. s of the reaction mixture with 2N sodium carbonate solution to litmus = no further formation of hydrogen chloride occurs, whereupon the mixture is allowed to cool to 20 ° C.
Sufficient sodium chloride is then added to obtain a concentration of 100 g / l, whereupon the precipitated dye is filtered off and dried at 60 ° C.
The dye produced by this method is the same as that obtained in Example 2 and has the same fastness and aging properties when it is dyed on cotton.
If = in the above example instead of the monoazo compound 77 given; 3rd parts of the tri-nate salt - the 1-N- (2 '-, 4'-Diehlor-s-triazinyl) -butyl = 'amino-7- (2'-sulfophenylazo) -8-naphthol-3,6-dsulfonic acid is used, a reddish-orange dye is obtained.
<I> Example 4 </I> A cyanuric chloride suspension formed according to the information in Example 1 and kept at a temperature of 0-5 ° C. is admixed with a solution of 20 parts of anifin within 20 minutes .
The mixture is then stirred for 20 minutes, an aqueous sodium carbonate solution being added in order to make the mixture just neutral on delta paper. The product obtained in this way is then condensed in situ with 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,6-disulphonic acid and the product obtained is then coupled with diazotized aniline-2-sulphonic acid,
using the reaction conditions described in the second and third paragraphs of Example 1.
The bluish-red dye obtained in this way is identical to the dye obtained in Example 2. The following table describes the shades that can be obtained with other dyes which, according to the procedure described in Example 2, by condensation of cyanuric chloride with 1 mol of the amino naphthol mentioned in the second column,
Condensation of the product thus obtained with 1 mole of the amine mentioned in the third column and by subsequent coupling of the product with a diazo salt of the amine mentioned in the first column.
