Attic for drying one-sided printed webs of goods The invention relates to a attic for drying one-sided printed webs of goods, the web being fed periodically and jerkily to the attic and furthermore the web in the form of nested turns by means of a number of pulleys through the treatment room the mansard is directed that there is a gap between adjacent turns for the purpose of supplying a desiccant.
It is generally known that webs of material, for example textile fabrics, such as printed plushes or the like, step out of a non-continuously operating printing press. The transport takes place in a relatively short time, for example in half a second. The attic, which is connected to the printing press and takes over the drying, must therefore accommodate the respective printed piece of the web in this short time. In doing so, however, the web must under no circumstances form any folds or sag, as this would damage the print while it is still wet.
It has now been proposed to arrange a drive at the discharge end of the attic which transports the fabric web within the attic in exactly the same way as is the case in the printing press. However, considerable difficulties have been encountered here, since the material web within the attic, including the deflection and guide rollers, has a large mass that can only be started or braked jerkily with correspondingly large forces. In any case, however, considerable tensile stresses occur in the web, which can easily exceed the permissible level.
The invention is based on the object of creating a mansard which on the one hand is able to take up the web in jerks and on the other hand ensures that only a relatively low tensile load, moving within the permissible range, occurs in the web. This object is achieved according to the invention in a mansard of the aforementioned type in that a pull-out roller is provided at the exit end of the treatment room in order to make the passage of the material web evenly within the treatment room and that a goods pulling element is provided for receiving the respective periodically fed piece of the material web.
In this way there is the advantage that the web of material is continuously guided through the actual part of the attic in which the drying takes place. In contrast to non-continuous transport, there is also the advantage that the web of material is not dried more or less strongly in the form of strips, but that drying is very uniform.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in longitudinal section and in a schematic representation.
The web 1, for example plush printed on one side or another textile fabric printed on one side, comes from a step-by-step printing machine (not shown) and enters through an opening 2 into a drying room in the attic that is enclosed on all sides by a housing 3. It is guided with the help of guide or deflection rollers 4 to 8 and other rollers, not designated in the drawing, in the form of nested turns up to a pulling roller 9. As will be described in more detail further below, the pull roller 9 ensures that the web of material passes through the drying chamber largely evenly. The draw roller 9 is connected to a geared motor 10 by means of conventional drive means.
The Aus

If the web 1 occurs from the attic with the help of a so-called sword 11, which consists of a roller set at 45 to the image plane. The sheet thus emerges laterally from the attic in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the picture.
The two deflecting rollers 12 and 13 are provided for receiving the web 1, which moves step by step, through the opening 2. These are attached to two lateral lever arms 14 and 15 each. The lever arms are in turn pivotably mounted on the housing at points 16 and 17, respectively. Balancing weights 18 and 19 are pushed onto the end of the lever arms facing away from the deflection rollers. The lever arms are connected to one another with the aid of a linkage which is composed of individual rods 20, 21 and 22. As can be easily seen from the drawing, the connection points 23 and 24 are designed as joints.
At the bearing points 16 and 17, the rods 20, 22 are firmly connected to the lever arms 14 and 15. The balance weights 18 and 19 are selected in terms of their size and setting so that the lever system described, which overall represents a goods pulling element, tends to assume the position shown in dash-dotted lines.
The mode of operation of the device described is as follows: The material web 1 is, for example, in the position assigned the reference numeral 25 when a piece of printed material web is suddenly delivered by the printing machine and enters the attic. At the same moment, the web 1 loosens, so that the two deflection rollers 12 and 13 under the action of a uniform force resulting from the balance weights 18, 19 and the weight of the linkage 20, 21, 22, rollers, etc. around the fixed ones Points 16 and 17 are pivoted until they come into the dot-dash position and the web 1 is completely stretched.
Compared to the web guide, which is given the reference numeral 25, there is now the guide of the web 1 according to the lines 26 to 28. In this way, the web piece coming from the printing press is picked up in a very short time at the beginning of the attic without being the material web has loosened or wrinkled in an undesired manner. In the meantime, in which the next printing process is taking place, the pulling roller 9 slowly catches up with the excess of the web (lines 26 to 28) until the web routing according to line 25 is reached again, with the next periodic jerky delivery of web then taking place .
The geared motor 10 is particularly advantageously switched on automatically at the moment when the lever arms 14 and 15 move from their upper, drawn-out position towards the lower. Conversely, the motor 10 is automatically switched off again when the fabric web is caught up and the extended position of the lever arms 14 and 15 is reached again. The switches for this purpose can advantageously be arranged in such a way that they are actuated directly by the lever arm 14 or 15.
The drying process itself takes place with the aid of several sets of nozzles which are inserted between the individual web pieces 29 and 30 or 30 and 31, etc. For the sake of clarity, the nozzle sets advantageously equipped with transverse nozzles have not been shown in the drawing. They are set so that the printed surface of the web 1 is blown with the drying agent, for example hot air. The desiccant is heated by radiators (not shown) and blown to the nozzles. As is well known, it is advantageous to circulate the dry air. The air saturated with moisture is drawn off by a blower 32 and blown out through an outlet connection 33.
It is particularly advantageous to provide a material store, for example a dancer roller, at the discharge end of the attic described above. This material storage also contributes to ensuring the uniform movement of the material web when it is released. A motor that has the property that it can be adjusted to the desired tension is particularly suitable as a drive for pulling the web of material out of the material storage. After passing through the warehouse, the dried web is generally peeled off.
