Description
Nachteil solcher Produkte besteht z.
Paint stripping agents It is known that the removal of stoved paints, especially those based on epoxy resins, e.g.
B. only possible then. is when the painted objects are boiled with hot, alkaline solutions, with the necessary boiling times varying between 12 and 48 hours.
The paint stripping can also be carried out mechanically using grinding disks or hand brushes; this type of work has the disadvantage that it is very cumbersome and time consuming.
Such He, ssentlackmittel are relatively cheap, but have the disadvantage that the way of working is very unprofitable.
On the one hand, quite large amounts of energy are required for this and, on the other hand, the working times required for a paint stripping process are so long that such stripping is very expensive for a company.
Additional workers were also required for the paint stripping agents and processes that were customary up to now, as the paint stripping process had to be continuously monitored.
Large-area parts sometimes require very extensive facilities, such as bathrooms, which turns out to be a further disadvantage with regard to the cost of paint stripping.
There are,, also known paint strippers, but due to their toxic solvent vapors and due to their high degree of fire hazard, they are only suitable for a very limited area of application. Another
The disadvantage of such products is z. B. in the fact that they are unable to dissolve certain epoxy resins.
A paint stripper must be required to have the same effect in the shortest possible time, that it can be used as little as possible without expensive equipment, such as baths, etc., and that as few workers as possible have to be used for the paint stripping process itself.
Furthermore, such an agent should not be flammable and should also be as non-toxic as possible for use.
There are recently paint stripping agents on the market that z. B. consist of 80 to 90 wt. O / o methylene chloride and the remaining percent of methyl alcohol, paraffin and methyl cellulose are added together.
Such paint strippers solve z. B. certain A burning varnishes not at all.
All of the disadvantages listed here can be eliminated by the present invention.
The present invention relates to a paint stripper which is characterized in that it contains methylene chloride, phenol and formic acid, the proportion of methylene chloride being 50 to 70% by weight and the proportion of phenol being 15 to 25% by weight:
o / o and the formic acid content, 1 is between 1 to 10 wt: o / o. In addition, the agent can e.g. B. still contain paraffin and methyl cellulose.
It has surprisingly been found that the addition of phenol and formic acid significantly increases the effect of the methylene chloride, so that even the most stubborn stoving enamels can be removed with this paint stripper.
The paint stripper according to the invention can be used both as a paint stripper and as a bathroom paint stripper.
Example 1 Mix 15 wt / o phenol with 70 wt: o / o methylene chloride and add 10 wt:
o / o formic acid added. Then let 1.5% by weight of paraffin and 0.6% by weight of methylcellulose swell in the resulting mixture and finally add 2,
9% by weight of methanol are added. Example 2 Mix 20% by weight of phenol with 70% by weight of methylene chloride and, after thorough mixing, add a further 10% by weight of formic acid.
The mixture from example 1 is outstandingly suitable as what is known as a brush paint, while mixture 2 can be used as a bathroom paint stripper.
