<tb> \.

<tb> \. <SEP> _ <SEP> i <SEP>: the <SEP> presence <SEP> of <SEP> hydrophilic <SEP> tissues <SEP> bind to <SEP>. The cleaning effect depends on the water-binding and emulsifying capacity of cbs cleaning booster, with the moisture content of the cleaning liquor and the items being cleaned being decisive factors with regard to the removal of the water-soluble dirt.
Since the accumulating pigment dirt is filtered off during the cleaning process, another essential prerequisite for carrying out the cleaning process is that the cleaning liquor, i.e. the solvent, including the detergent booster, solubilized water, dissolved and undissolved dirt, remains filterable.
The products previously known as cleaning enhancers meet this last requirement, but reduce subsequent hydrophobization from an organic solvent, be it through their substantivity, i.e. by their binding to the fiber material, which prevents them from being rinsed out, or by
that they require at least one flushing process. When choosing cleaning enhancers, special emphasis was therefore placed on their property of showing a low affinity to the fiber, so that the most complete rinsing possible is guaranteed.
Products are also known which do not interfere with subsequent hydrophobization from organic liquor. However, these products either cause the cleaning liquor to be inadequately filterable or they do not have a satisfactory water-binding or emulsifying capacity, which is why sufficient safety is not achieved when working with water additives.
In the chemical cleaning process according to the invention, a subsequent hydrophobization z, a with the usual metal compounds based on aluminum, zirconium or titanium respectively. based on siloxane compounds with good removal of the water-soluble dirt and <B> an increased water-binding and emulsifying capacity of the cleaning liquor with perfect retention of the filterability of the same,
even reinforced. The method according to the invention for the chemical cleaning of fiber material in the textile industry is characterized in that a cleaning liquor is used which, in addition to a solvent, contains a cleaning booster of the formula

contains, where Ra is an alkyl radical, Rb and Re are each hydrogen, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl, oxalkyl group,
for example with 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or an alkyl radical and where the three radicals together have at least 8 carbon atoms, R 'for a cycloaliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon radical with 5 to 10 carbon atoms, R "- for an optionally alkylated pheny radical,
for example with 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical, or - (CH2) n, where ri - 1 to 4, or -CH-CH-, and R "'for hydrogen or a salt-forming cation, in particular an alkali, esklkali- or Earth metal, such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, aluminum, or an amine with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, for example butyl amine or triethanolamine.
Particularly suitable alkyl radicals Ra, Rb and Re are those having 1 to about 30, preferably 1 to 12, carbon atoms; the cyelohexyl, decalin, tetralin, phenyl or naphthyl radical is particularly suitable as the radical R '.
The following acids or salts thereof, for example, can be used as compounds of the above constitution: o- (p'-decylbenzoyl) -benzoic acid o- (p'-dodecylbenzoyl) -benzoic acid o- (p'-octadecylbenzoyl) -benzoic acid ss- (2 -Chlor-4-dodecylbenzoyl) -acrylic acid @ - (2-chloro-4-dodecylbenzoyl) -propionic acid A- (2-oxy-4-tetradecylbenzoyl) -propionic acid 2-oxymethyl-4-nonylbenzoyl-acetic acid 2-oxymethyl-4- dodecylbenzoyl-acetic acid 4- (4'-eicosylbenzoyl)
-benzoic acid or A- (2-methoxy-4-dodecyl-benzoyl) -propionic acid The cleaning enhancers used, for example in the form of their salts, are generally added to the cleaning liquors in amounts of 0.5 to 50 g / l, preferably 3 to 30 g / l added.
The friction enhancers described in the formula have excellent water binding properties. Water can be added to the cleaning solution before or during the cleaning process.
Before or during the cleaning process, the water content of the liquor is adjusted so that the textile material assumes a moisture content that corresponds to a conditioning of 70% to 90% relative humidity.
Common solvents for chemical cleaning are aliphatic hydrocarbons, such as gasoline or low molecular weight chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons with 1 to 2 carbon and 1 to 4 chlorine atoms, such as hydrocarbon tetrachloride, methylene chloride, trichlorethylene, perchlorethylene,
Methyl chloroform and the like.
In the process of the present invention, it can be advantageous to add compounds which are capable of forming hydrogen bonds and which in turn do not cause any reduction in the hydrophobing effect.
Examples of such compounds are: saturated low molecular weight alcohols with 1 to 7 carbon atoms, such as methyl, ethyl and propyl alcohol, hexanol and fatty alcohols with 8 to 20 carbon atoms, wt.e octyl alcohol, dodecyl alcohol, fatty acid ethanolamides with 12 to 18 carbon atoms containing fatty acid residues ,
such as, for example, lauric acid ethanolamide or oleic acid di # ethanolamide.
<U> Example </U> 10 kg of soiled fabric made of wool, cotton, rayon, polyamide fibers, polyester fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers or acetate fibers are cleaned in 100 liters of tetrachlorethylene with continuous liquor filtration.
The cleaning solution contains 2 kg of a cleaning booster of the formula
EMI0006.0003
and the addition of water is adjusted so that there is a relative moisture content of 75% to 80% in the cleaning system. The cleaning effect of the liquor is excellent, the filterability very good.
Subsequent hydrophobization of the fabric from a tetrachlorethylene liquor with monostearic aluminum diethylate and Indonesian paraffin in a ratio of 2: 1 with a dry load of 4%, based on the weight of the goods, results in a better hydrophobing effect than a hydrophobizing of the material without previous ones Cleaning process.
In contrast, cleaning the same fiber types in tetrachlorethylene under the same conditions, but with the addition of conventional cleaning enhancers, results in considerably poorer values. The results are given in the table below for cotton poplin. The sprinkling tests were determined according to the "Bundesmann" method (sprinkling test apparatus BP 2, test method Pfersee 1950, see "Melliand Textile Reports" 7 (1951), pages 520/521).
The beading effects were rated 1 to 5, with 1 meaning very good, 2 good, 3 satisfactory, 4 adequate and 5 inadequate.
