Une forme d'exécution et une variante de l'objet de l'invention, données à titre d'exemple, seront dé crites en se référant au dessin annexé, dans lequel la fig. 1 est une vue en coupe longitudinale d'une première forme d'exécution du classeur; la fig. 2 est une vue en coupe suivant la ligne II-II de la fig. 1 ; la fig. 3 est une vue en élévation du rotor d'une variante ;
Parmi les particules pulvérisées en suspension dans le courant de mélange gazeux, les particules grossières de diamètre relativement grand sont sou mises à une force centrifuge suffisamment élevée im médiatement à l'entrée de la zone de séparation entre deux pales et sont aussitôt projetées à l'extérieur comme indiqué par la ligne de parcours 18, mais les particules de diamètre plus petit, pénètrent plus profondément dans la zone de classement, comme indiqué par la ligne de parcours 19 ;
The present invention relates to a separator for sprayed substances.
The known separators known as cyclones have certain drawbacks owing to the fact that they cause great pressure losses with respect to the gas stream and experience difficulties in making a good selection, and it may happen that coarse particles of very large diameters. irregularities not felt in the mixture of finely pulverized substances.
The aim of the present invention is to create a separator for pulverized substances which does not have the drawbacks mentioned.
The separator according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a container with a vertical axis, a rotor in the form of a cage rotatably and coaxially mounted in this container, the said rotor being provided with lower blade-carrying organs. and upper and elongated blades extending between said members, each of said blades being composed of extended inner and outer parts, the inner parts having at least their front surface inclined with respect to a radial plane and in the opposite direction in the direction of rotation,
and the outer parts having their front face inclined in the same direction as the inner parts but to a lesser degree, means for driving said rotor, a cone carried by the lower end of said rotor, a supply duct for the substance to be separated disposed under said container and having a discharge opening coaxial with and directed towards the cone, a central opening in the top of said container for fine particles, the latter opening being smaller than the diameter of the rotor and arranged in the 'aligned with and close to the upper end of said rotor,
and an outlet for coarse particles at the lower end of said container and at least partially surrounding said supply duct.
An embodiment and a variant of the subject of the invention, given by way of example, will be described with reference to the appended drawing, in which FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a first embodiment of the binder; fig. 2 is a sectional view along the line II-II of FIG. 1; fig. 3 is an elevational view of the rotor of a variant;
fig. 4 is a sectional view along the line IV-IV of FIG. 3; fig. 5 is a horizontal sectional diagram showing the operation of the blades; fig. 6 is a sectional view along the line VI-VI of FIG. 1, some parts being broken, and FIG. 7 is a partial sectional view along the line VII-VII of FIG. 6.
The separator shown in fig. 1 and 2 comprises a housing 1 provided with a connecting flange 1a at its upper end and a hopper-shaped discharge compartment 2 for coarse particles; a supply tube 3 passes through the exhaust compartment 2. The top of the housing 1 is closed by a flat cover 4 fixed to the connection flange la by bolts 5. A circular exhaust opening 6 is provided in the center of the flat cover 4.
An evacuation chamber 7 is arranged above the opening 6 and communicates with an evacuation duct 7a. At the top of the discharge chamber 7 is arranged a gas-tight bearing 8, and a shaft 9 rotates in this bearing and carries a rotating body or rotor 10.
This rotor 10 is composed of a wheel 11 of large diameter wedged on the shaft 9 in the vicinity of the discharge opening 6, of a conical hub 12 of small diameter wedged on the lower end of the shaft 9 opposite the mouth of the supply tube 3, blades arranged between said wheel 11 and the hub 12 and composed of inner 14 and outer 13 parts inclined at a certain angle relative to each other. The blades 13, 14 are arranged so that by loosening a metal strip 11a which clamps the outer periphery of the wheel 11, they can be easily dismantled or reassembled.
Thus, depending on the working conditions such as the properties of the substances sprayed, the required separation precision or the desired separation capacity, it is possible to vary the number of blades 13, 14, or to replace the blades with other blades of different width.
Figs. 3 and 4 show a rotor of a different shape. The outer diameters of the wheel 11 and of the conical hub 12 are equal. Blades 13, 14 are arranged between the wheel 11 and the hub 12. In this case also the number of the blades 13, 14 can vary, and they can be replaced by others of different width, by loosening the metal tape 1 the.
In fig. 5, the reference numerals 13a, 13b and 13c denote the outer parts and 14a, 14b and 14c the inner parts of the blades. The rotor rotates in the direction indicated by arrow 16, and with respect to this rotation the gas mixture circulates along the paths indicated by broken lines 17.
Among the pulverized particles suspended in the gas mixture stream, the coarse particles of relatively large diameter are subjected to a sufficiently high centrifugal force immediately at the entrance to the separation zone between two blades and are immediately thrown into the air. outside as indicated by course line 18, but smaller diameter particles penetrate deeper into the classification area as indicated by course line 19;
in this interval, the centrifugal force is gradually exerted on these particles which then perform a curved line path and, passing along a blade 13a, are projected outside. However, there are some coarse particles which in the meantime are entrained by the gas stream and are carried to the interior of the rotor. In order to prevent this infiltration of coarse particles, the inner parts 14 of the blades subject the particles, by a movement indicated by the arrow 16, to an acceleration having a strong outward component.
As a result, the force due to said component acts, together with the centrifugal force exerted by the exterior parts 13 of the blades, so as to project the coarse particles outwards.
As a practical result of the conformation of the blades 13, 14, 90-95% of the particles passing through the rotor 10 actually had a diameter equal to or smaller than the critical diameter of the particles, and no coarse particles remained. diameters two or more times the critical diameter, (diameter for which the centrifugal force acting on the particles is equal to the resistance of the fluid transporting said particles). However, these blades do not give rise to any loss of pressure.
Referring again to fig. 1, an air sieving compartment 20 is arranged between the casing 1 and the coarse particle discharge compartment 2. This air-sieving compartment is composed of an iris diaphragm 21 by rotating the supply duct 3, and of an air suction duct 22 provided in the exhaust compartment 2.
According to fig. 6 and 7 an annular control plate 24 and four blades 25a, 25b, 25e and 25d are arranged inside a housing 23 of the iris diaphragm. Said blades are pivoted, at one of their ends, on pins 26a, 26b, 26c and 26d respectively, on an upper plate 23a of the housing 23 of the diaphragm, and the other ends of said blades are provided with pins 27a, 27b, 27e and 27d respectively, respectively engaged in guide slides 24a, 24b, </ I > 24c and 24d arranged with a certain inclination in the control panel 24.
An adjustment screw 28 attached to the control plate 24 extends outwardly through an arcuate slot 29 in the bottom plate 23b, and is tightened by a nut 28a.
The degree of opening of the diaphragm described can be adjusted as desired by loosening the nut 28a and by moving the adjusting screw 28 along the slot 29. In this way, the flow rate of the fluid can be adjusted as desired. air entering through the air suction duct 22, through the iris diaphragm 21, into the housing 1.
By introducing a high velocity animated air stream around the outlet of the inlet pipe 3 of the raw pulverized material, the separation precision and the separation capacity are increased. A number of fine particles which should pass through the spaces between the blades are sometimes accidentally thrown inside the rotating body along with the coarse particles. More especially when the raw pulverized material has a tendency to agglomerate and to form lumps, these lumps are also projected outside the rotating body.
All these particles and lumps projected outside the rotating body fall to the coarse particle discharge part. The mentioned auxiliary air stream has a sifting effect in that it returns the fine particles to the rotating body, and by disintegrating the lumps into fine particles which it also returns to the rotating body, it only allows only coarse particles to fall in the evacuation sector.
The separator is used, for example, for calcium bicarbonate, graphite, activated carbon, agricultural chemicals, iimenite and zinc oxide.
