Method of manufacturing a wall by assembling structural elements and a wall obtained using this process Railway wagons and coaches are generally made up of a framework formed of folded or profiled steel elements , welded or riveted, usually providing the body with all of the resistance necessary for normal or exceptional forces applying to the rolling stock.
On this framework are fixed cover panels, often contributing to the strength of the body, completed internally by a set of metal, wood or plastic panels constituting the interior paneling fixed to the bone generally saturated by screws, with or without interposition of cleats. In insulated cases, the insulating material is placed between the interior paneling and the exterior paneling.
Such an assembly is relatively heavy and requires significant assembly work.
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a wall by assembling constructive elements, constituted by two plates joined together by an insulating plate arranged between the first two.
This method is characterized in that the elements are assembled by direct connection: welding, riveting, stapling, gluing of the edges of the plates of the adjacent elements.
The invention also comprises a wall produced by this method.
An embodiment of the wall according to the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, this wall constituting a wagon body.
Fig. 1 is an exploded elevation view of the wagon body.
Fig. 2 is an elevation of the wagon body mounted on its frame. Fig. 3 is a cross section of a refrigerated or refrigerated wagon body.
Fig. 4 is a sectional plan of the end of a wagon.
Fig. 5 is a detail of an assembly of elements. The various prefabricated elements, floor 1, faces 2 and 3, ends 6 and 7, pavilion 8 forming the body of a wagon and shown in FIG. 1, can themselves be split into several pre-fabricated elements.
Fig. 3 shows in detail the assembly of prefabricated elements. Each element has an inner wall and an outer wall, both bonded to an interposed compact or cellular material 9, homogeneous or heterogeneous, provided that its thermal conduction coefficient is very low and that it is suitable. , by virtue of its constitution, to allow the bonding, on each of its faces, of metal or plastic plates to constitute panels sufficiently resistant for use on rolling stock.
By way of example, there is shown in FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 a method of assembling prefabricated elements suitable for the construction of a body of a fri gorific wagon; it can be adopted for the constitution of other funds.
In the example chosen, the outer and inner walls of the various elements are made of hot-dip galvanized steel sheets, but any other protection method could be suitable. These two walls are glued by means of an appropriate adhesive on either side of the insulating material which, in this case, is a known plastic material, of cellular structure, based on polyvinyl chloride, consisting of multiple closed cells, independent and airtight, containing an inert gas. The floor 1 is fbrmé of a lower wall 12 and an upper wall 13 glued on either side of the insulating material 9. It is fixed by any suitable means, bolts, rivets or welding, on a frame sis 28 .
Sides 2 and 3, made up of an outer wall 10 to which are fixed a longitudinal member called the flag leaf 5 and the door frame 4 and an inner wall 11 glued on the insulating material 9, are fixed at 14 and 15 by spot welding or any other means at 14 on the floor 1 and at 15 on the frame 28. A judicious shape of the edges of the floor plate 13 and the edges of the wall 11, according to FIG. 3, facilitates this assembly.
The ends 6 and 7 formed like the previous elements of two walls 22 and 24 glued to the insulating material 9 are fixed, on the one hand to the floor 1 and to the frame 28, and, on the other hand, vertically to the faces 2 and 3 The front wall 22 of the end 6 is provided on each side with an angle 23 allowing assembly by spot welding, or by any other means, with the outer wall 10 of the faces 2 and 3.
Flag 8 is placed last. It is composed of the walls 16 and 17 glued to the insulating material 9. It is fixed at 18 and 19, by welding or any other means, on the flag wings 5 carried by the faces 2 and 3. A stuffing 29 made of insulating material of the same nature as the material 9 or of a different nature ensures the continuity of the insulation. Two interior frames 20 are fixed to the interior walls 11 of faces 2 and 3 using the folded upper edge 21 which facilitates assembly. They ensure the continuity of the interior paneling of the sides 11 and of the pavilion 16.
The elements can be subdivided into panels. The connection of these panels together is illustrated in FIG. 5 showing at 25 and 26 the angled bent ends of the exterior and interior walls of the panels to permit spot welding, or assembly by bolts, rivets or autogenous welding.
In the example chosen, an insulating material is provided, preferably of flexible quality 27, which forms a seal between the two insulating parts of the panels and thus ensures the continuity of the insulation. But it is possible to achieve this continuity by adjusting the joints of the material 9.
