Description

Device based on the principle of the reversible chain for generating a tumbling and rotating body movement
In the main patent, a device for generating a tumbling and rotating body movement is described, which is based on the principle of the invertible chain and has articulated steering links with the body to be set in motion, which in turn are connected to one end of an auxiliary shaft by means of pivot bearings.

The characteristic feature of this device is that at least one of the auxiliary shafts is driven by a universal joint from a drive shaft which forms an angle of 450 with the extended axis of the auxiliary shaft driven by it, and that the axis of the pivot bearing of each auxiliary shaft with the joint axis of the cardan joint part at the other end of the auxiliary shaft in question includes an angle of rotation which corresponds to the complementary angle to the angle of inclination of the cardan plane, which contains the axes of rotation of the auxiliary shaft and the cardan joint part facing away from it or the drive shaft, to the plane passing through the two auxiliary shafts.

The present invention now relates to a further advantageous embodiment of this device, in which the aforementioned cardan plane is perpendicular to the plane passing through the auxiliary shafts, so that, according to the conditions of the claim of the main patent, the axis of the pivot bearing at one end of the one and the other auxiliary shaft and the joint axis of the universal joint part at the other end of the auxiliary shaft run parallel to one another.

This further embodiment is illustrated, for example, in the accompanying drawing.

Fig. 1 shows the device in a side view, certain parts of which are drawn in section.

Fig. 2 shows the rear end view of the device, again with certain parts broken away, and
FIG. 3 shows the same device, but mounted in a different position than in FIG. 1.

The device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has a support frame 15 with a horizontal base plate 15a, a support wall 15b arranged at right angles thereto and an inclined support wall 15c which extends at an inclination angle of 45 "to the support wall 15b.

In the inclined support wall 15c, similar to the bearing block 1 of the embodiment shown in the main patent, two parallel auxiliary shafts 16 are mounted, which are perpendicular to this support wall 1 5c. At the outer ends of these two auxiliary shafts 16, fork-shaped steering members 17 are again supported by means of pivot bearings 16a, the fork ends of which are articulated to a hollow cylindrical body 18 to which the rotating and tumbling movement is to be imparted. The two auxiliary shafts 16 are connected by means of universal joints to two parallel, horizontal drive shafts 19 (FIG. 2) which are mounted in the vertical support wall 15b.

One of these two horizontal drive shafts 19 is set in circulation by means of a V-belt drive which has a pulley 20 seated on the relevant end of this drive shaft 19.

The drive takes place by means of a motor 21 and a reduction gear 22, on whose output shaft a smaller pulley 23 is seated. The V-belt 24 runs over this disk and the larger grooved disk 20 seated on the horizontal drive shaft. A flywheel 24, indicated by a dash-dotted circular line, is preferably provided on the corresponding end of the other horizontal drive shaft 19. If necessary, this second drive shaft could be omitted and replaced by a blind shaft or a blind pin.

As in the exemplary embodiment of the main patent, the angle of rotation between the axis 1 6b of the pivot bearing 1 6a at the upper end of both the one and the other auxiliary shaft 16 and the joint axis 19a of the universal joint part at the lower end of the auxiliary shaft corresponds to the complementary angle to the angle of inclination that is articulated with each other connected shafts 16 and 19 forming gimbal plane with the plane passing through the auxiliary shafts. In the exemplary embodiment shown here, this cardan plane is perpendicular to the plane passing through the two auxiliary shafts, so that the angle of inclination mentioned is 900.

The complementary angle to this angle of inclination is thus 0 ". The angle of rotation between the two axes under consideration is 16b and 19a0", which means that these two axes run parallel to one another. The axes 1 6b of the two universal joints lie in one plane.

The device according to FIGS. 1 and 2 could, if desired, also be mounted on the hanging position shown in FIG.
