(fig.
Method of manufacturing a manifold provided with at least one tubing It is known to form in the wall of a metallic drive neck tubings, or tube fittings, the metal of which forms part of the metallic mass of the manifold. The axis of these pipes is perpendicular to the axis of the manifold, and the two axes are in the same plane. They are generally formed by means of a punch, placed inside the collector, and which passes through the wall of the collector, under the effect of the pressure of a jack, while a die is applied externally around it. where you want to form the tubing.
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a manifold provided with at least one pipe formed in its wall, characterized in that a pipe blank is formed in the wall of the manifold using a punch acting from the inside of this collector, and in that the tubing is then terminated with the aid of an external forming member.
The appended drawing illustrates, by way of example, several embodiments of the method forming the subject of the invention.
Figs. 1 to 4 illustrate the phases of a first embodiment.
Figs. 5 to 7 relate to two variants of this first embodiment.
Figs. 8 to 12 illustrate a second embodiment.
Fig. 13 shows, seen from the outside, a reader neck obtained by means of a variant of this second embodiment.
Fig. 14 is an exterior view of a collector obtained by means of another variant.
Figs. 15 to 17 illustrate, in section through the axis of the collector, a third embodiment. Figs. 18 and 19 show a collector obtained by means of a variant of the process of FIGS. 8 to 12.
In the embodiment of the method illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 4, in order to manufacture a manifold a provided with a tubing with an oblique axis, a slightly oblique hole b is drilled in the wall of the manifold and an asymmetric punch c is placed inside the manifold, i.e. that is, the attack surface of which has a vertex d offset with respect to its axis AA perpendicular to the axis of the collector.
The lifting of this punch c along the axis AA in the direction of the arrow F (fig. 1), by means of a jack e, causes the formation of an asymmetric tubing blank with an axis perpendicular to the axis of the manifold, having a higher f lip on one side and a lower g lip on the other side.
The asymmetric tubing blank f, g thus obtained during this first operation then receives an external punch-mandrel h, as can be seen in FIG. 3, which works with a support matrix ï placed inside the collector a.
A tilting in the direction of the arrow G (fig. 4) of the punch h, practically around the axis projected at B, causes a displacement of the axis of the blank of the tubing f, g, so as to form a CC axis tubing, oblique with respect to a radius of the manifold, whose lips fi,
g1 are in the same plane perpendicular to the C-C axis. A tube with an oblique axis C-C has thus been produced with respect to the wall of the collector.
In the variant shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, a blank of asymmetrical tubing i is obtained, as seen in FIG. 5, in the wall of the manifold a, using an asymmetric punch j inside the manifold, moving substantially perpendicular to the axis of the latter.
Then, using an external die h and a punch k, of bent shape, as seen in fig. 6, moved by a jack 1 disposed obliquely inside the manifold, the tubing blank i is transformed into a completed tubing with an axis C-C oblique to the wall.
In the variant shown in FIG. 7, the tubing blank obtained as shown in FIG. 5 is transformed into a final tube with an oblique axis, by the introduction of an external punch-mandrel m in the direction of arrow H, then tilting of this punch in the direction of arrow 1, to give the tube the axis final CC.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 8 to 12, we first form in the wall of the manifold a a blank of tubing p, by pressure between an inner punch n and an outer die o, brought together in the direction of the arrows J (fig. . 8). This blank has in section the walls of different inclinations, and the most inclined wall is pierced with a hole q.
We then have, as seen in FIG. 10, on the outside of the collector, a die u and inside it a punch r which can tilt around an axis s, offset inside the collector with respect to the axis A of the latter.
The tilting of the punch r around the axis s brings it from the position in phantom lines to the position in solid lines, and thus causes the transformation, between the die u and the punch r, of the blank p in the final tube t, with an oblique axis CC.
To obtain a manifold provided with a series of oblique tubes t1, t2, t3, t4 ...... arranged in a crown following a straight section of the manifold, previously deformed (fig. 12 ), we can start by forming a series of tubing blanks p, pl, p2, p3, etc.
(fig. 11) as indicated with reference to fig. 8 and then finish the pipes as shown in fig. 10.
By proceeding in a manner analogous to that described with reference to FIGS. 8 to 12 one could obtain a collector provided with pipes arranged along a generatrix of the collector, as seen in FIG. 13, or a manifold provided with pipes arranged side by side in transverse planes along a generatrix, as seen in FIG. 14.
In the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 15 to 17, a tubing blank v is first formed in the wall of the manifold a by means of a punch w placed inside the latter and which is moved in the radial direction (FIG. 15).
The most inclined wall of the blank v is then drilled and the tubing x is terminated using an external die y with which the punch w is made to cooperate by sliding it inside the manifold , parallel to the latter's axis, in the direction of arrow D.
A collector is thus obtained provided with tubes x with axes E-E parallel to the axis of the reader neck a (fig. 17).
To obtain the collector shown in fig. 18 and 19, we begin by forming on the wall of the drive neck, and at the place where we want to establish the tubes, a half-torus y1, as seen in fig. 19 in section.
Such an operation can be carried out in the known manner by compressing the ends of the manifold optionally maintained in matri these, while the place where it is desired to obtain the crown is suitably heated.
Tubing with an oblique axis is then formed in one of the ways indicated above, in the bottom of the half-torus thus established, so as to obtain, as shown in section in FIG. 18, a ring of tubes either with axis EE parallel to the tangent to the right section (left part of fig. 18), or with an FF axis slightly oblique with respect to the tangent to the right section (right part of fig. . 18).
The tubes could also be formed as described with reference to Figs. 15 to 17. In this way, the ends of the lips of all these tubes are spaced from the wall of the manifold a and it is easier to weld the ends of the tubes to be connected there.
The half-torus y1 shown in FIG. 19 in relief could be formed recessed in the wall of the drive neck a and the tubes formed in the bottom of this recess.
The advantage provided by the collectors obtained by means of the methods described is that they allow the tubes to be welded to the tubes of the drive neck in restricted spaces, without increasing the lengths of the tubes,
and to ensure a flow of the fluids circulating inside the tubes and manifold which is perfectly rational from the dynamic point of view by reducing changes of direction and pressure drops.
The tangential entry or exit of the fluid in the manifold may further facilitate the separation of water and vapor in this fluid, or of the mixture of fluids which flows in the pipes.
It is understood that all the zones of metal worked are brought to the desired temperatures to obtain the desired metal conformations.
