aufweisen.
EMI0001.0090
EMI0002.0016
in Betracht kommt.

EMI0001.0005
wherein y is a substituent capable of forming metal complexes, z is a phenolic or enolic hydroxyl group or a primary or secondary amino group adjacent to the -N = N group, n is the number 1 or 2, m is the number 3 or 4, where, if n = 2,

The diazotization of the aminobenzenes can be carried out in the usual way, the heterocyclic ring

is resistant to acids and alkalis in the cold.
The coupling of the diazo compound with the azo component containing a phenolic or enolic hydroxyl group is advantageously carried out at 0 to 10 ° C. in a weakly acidic to weakly alkaline or strongly alkaline medium, optionally in the presence of pyridine, while the coupling with the one containing a primary or secondary amino group Azo component is usually carried out at 10 to 20 C in a weakly acidic, preferably acetic acid medium.
The monoazo compounds formed are separated from the coupling compounds, if necessary by means of salt, and then filtered off.
The conversion of the monoazo dyes into their metal complex compounds is preferably carried out using compounds of chromium and cobalt. The metallization is advantageously carried out in an aqueous solution or in an organic medium, for example in formamide,
or carried out in the concentrated aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of a low molecular weight aliphatic monocarboxylic acid. Advantageously, two molecules of monoazo dyes are allowed to act on less than two, but at least one atom of metal, amount of a metal donor.
Suitable compounds of chromium are, for. B. Chromifluorid, Chromisulfat, Chromiformiat, Chromi- acetate, potassium chromisulfate or ammonium ehromi- sulfate. The chromates, e.g. B.
Sodium or potassium chromate or bichromate are particularly suitable for the metallization of monoazo dyes. It is advantageous to work here in a strongly caustic alkaline medium, in which case reducing substances can be added.
As cobalt compounds z. B. cobalt formate, cobalt acetate and cobalt sulfate. If the metallization is carried out in the concentrated aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of a low molecular weight aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, water-insoluble metal compounds can also be used, for example cobalt hydroxide and cobalt carbonate.
The metallization is particularly advantageously carried out in an aqueous or alkaline medium, the metal compounds being added in the presence of compounds which keep the metals dissolved in a complex bond in a caustic alkaline medium, e.g. B. tartaric acid, citric acid and lactic acid.
The metal complex compounds obtained can, if appropriate after pouring the organic metallization solutions into water, separated out from an aqueous medium by adding salt, then filtered off, if appropriate washed and then dried.
The metal-containing azo dyes obtained are uniform metal complex compounds in which essentially one atom of metal is bonded to two molecules of the monoazo compound. They can be referred to as so-called 1: 2 complexes, in which one molecule of monoazo compound is linked to about 0.3-0.7 atom of metal.
The new monoazo dyes dye wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers in red, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray or brown shades with good wash, milled and lightfastness using the post-chrome plating or single chrome plating process.
The metal-containing azo dyes dye wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers from a neutral or weakly acidic dye bath in red, yellow, green, blue, purple, gray or brown real tones. If their solubility in organic solvents is sufficiently high, they are also suitable for dyeing masses that are intended for spinning and dissolved in organic solvents, and of all kinds of paints and plastics.
The designation of the diazo and azo components used in the examples is based on the following numbering:

Example 1 22.65 parts of N- (3'-amino-2'-hydroxy-5'-chlorophenyl) -1-aza-2-keto-cyclopentane are mixed with 20 parts of 30 above Pour hydrochloric acid and 180 parts of water over it. This mixture is cooled to 0 ', it is gradually added to the solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite in 30 parts of water and it is stirred for a further 20 to 30 minutes at 0-5 in order to end the diazotization.
The diazo solution is then neutralized to a pH of 5.0-6.0 by adding dropwise 25-30 parts. 20% aqueous sodium carbonate solution and combined it at 0-5 with a solution of 22 parts of 1-acetylamino-7-hydroxynaphthalene, 4.4 parts of sodium hydroxide, 10 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate and 250 parts of water. The mass is stirred for several hours at 0-5 until the coupling reaction has ended.
After this time, the resulting dark suspension is heated to 40, the monoazo dye is completely precipitated using sodium chloride, filtered off, dried and ground.
It is a black-blue powder, which dissolves in water with blue and in concentrated sulfuric acid with burgundy color. Its blue-gray dyeings on wool, produced by the post-chrome plating or single-bath chrome plating process, have excellent wash, milled and light fastness properties.
The procedure for dyeing is as follows: 2 parts of the above-described monoazo dye and 10 parts of anhydrous sodium sulfate are dissolved in 6000 parts of water. 100 parts of wool are added to the dye liquor prepared in this way and the bath is heated to 100 'in the course of about 30 minutes. After adding 20 parts of 10% acetic acid, dyeing is carried out at boiling temperature for 30 minutes, 20 parts of 10% formic acid are added to the bath and the mixture is kept. it for 30 minutes at 100, replacing the evaporated water from time to time.
1 part of sodium dichromate is then added as a 10% aqueous solution to the dye liquor and the temperature is kept at 100 for 30 minutes. The re-chromed wool is taken out of the dye bath, rinsed with water and dried. It is dyed in a level blue-gray shade of very good wash, milled and lightfastness.
The new diazo component used to prepare the monoazo dye of this example is prepared as follows: 1 mol of 1-amino-2-hydroxy-5-chlorobenzene is heated with 1.2 mol of γ-butyrolactone at 220 to 240 for a few hours the reaction mass with water in order to dissolve the unchanged γ-butyrolactone, sucks off the precipitate and dries it.
The dry N- (2'-hydroxy-5'-chloro-phenyl) -1-aza-2-keto-cyclopentane thus obtained is dissolved at 0-10 in five times the amount of concentrated sulfuric acid and treated in a known manner with a nitric acid Sulfuric acid mixture mononitrated. The N- (2 'Hydroxy-3'-nitro-5'-chlorophenyl) -1-aza-2-keto-cyclopentane produced in this way is precipitated by pouring the nitrating solution into plenty of water, then filtered off,
Wash ge with water and reduced in the usual way according to Bechamp to N - (2 '-hydroxy-3'-amino-5'-chlorophenyl) -1-aza-2-keto-cyclopentane.
44 parts of the monoazo dye obtained were dissolved in 440 parts of formamide. This solution is then heated to 100-110, 30 parts of potassium chromium sulfate are added to it within 30 minutes and it is kept at 100-120 until the chromium complex has formed. The chromizing compound is then poured into 1200 parts of water, whereupon the chromium-containing azo dye is salted out, filtered off and dried.
After grinding, it is a blue-black powder that dyes wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers and leather in blue-gray tones with excellent wash, flex and lightfastness properties.
2 parts of the chromium-containing azo dye thus obtained are dissolved in 4000 parts of water at 40-50. 100 parts of pre-wetted wool are placed in this solution and 2 parts of 100% acetic acid are added dropwise, whereupon the dyebath is heated to the boil within 30 minutes and held at this temperature for a further 45 minutes.
The dyed wool is then taken out of the liquor, rinsed with water and dried. A dyeing is obtained which has very good fastness to light, washing and milling.
44 parts of the monoazo dye of this example are dissolved at 60 in a solution of 8 parts of sodium hydroxide in 1500 parts of water. A solution of 15 parts of cobalt sulfate in 600 parts of water, made alkaline by means of aqueous ammonia solution, is allowed to flow into this solution over a period of 30 minutes, the metallization mass is kept at 60 "for 10 minutes, the cobalt complex compound is salted out and filtered off.
The dried and ground cobalt-containing dye is a blue-black powder that dyes wool and synthetic polyamide fibers in very real gray tones.
Example 2 15.4 parts of 2-amino-1-hydroxy-4-nitro-benzene are in a mixture of 20 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and 100 parts of water at 5 with a solution of 6.9 parts Sodium nitrite was added to 30 parts of water.
The suspension is stirred at 0-5 until the diazotization has ended, it is then carefully neutralized with 5 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate and gradually added to a solution, cooled to 0-5, of 24.1 parts of N- [7'- Hydroxy - naphthyl - (1 ') j -1-aza-2-keto-cyclohexane, 4 parts of sodium hydroxide and 22 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate in 250 parts of water.
After the coupling has ended, the monoazo dye formed is completely precipitated with salt, filtered off with suction, dried and ground. A dark powder is obtained which dissolves in water with a violet color and dyes wool in a single-bath chrome plating process in a red, pale gray.
This dyeing is carried out as follows: 100 parts of wool are placed in a dye liquor which consists of 2 parts of dye, 10 parts of Glauber's salt, 6 parts of ammonium sulfate, 2 parts of potassium dichromate and 6000 parts of water. The bath is heated to boiling within 15 minutes and kept boiling for 90 minutes. The black-colored piece of wool is then taken out of the bath, rinsed with water and dried. The dyeing obtained has very good wash, milled and lightfastness.
40.6 parts of the monoazo dye of the formula described in the first paragraph of this example
EMI0004.0088
are dissolved at 90 in 1000 parts of water and 4 parts of sodium hydroxide. The dye solution is then treated at the same time with a solution of 9 parts of sodium dichromate and 4 parts of sodium hydroxide in 100 parts of water and a solution of 16 parts of grape sugar in 80 parts of water. The metallization solution is then kept at 90-95 until the complex formation is complete, the chromium-containing azo dye is isolated and it is dried.
It is a dark powder that dyes wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers and leather in real black tones.
40.6 parts of the monoazo dye described in the first paragraph of this example are introduced at 90 into a suspension consisting of 400 parts of crystallized sodium acetate, 40 parts of water and 8 parts of cobalt carbonate. The mixture is heated to 100 to 110 and this temperature is maintained for half an hour, that is to say until no more starting monoazo dye can be detected. The suspension is poured into 500 parts of cold water.
The mixture is stirred until the sodium acetate has gone into solution and the cobalt-containing azo dye has completely deposited, the latter is filtered off, dried and ground. It is a dark powder that dissolves in water with a burgundy color and dyes wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers and leather in light-, wash- and mill-fast tones.
The 8 parts of cobalt carbonate used here can easily be replaced by 6.3 parts of cobalt hydroxide.
Example 3 18.8 parts of 2-amino-1-hydroxy-benzene-4-sulfonic acid amide are dissolved in 18 parts of 30% strength hydrochloric acid and 100 parts of water. The solution is cooled to 0, a concentrated aqueous solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite is added and it is stirred at 0-5a until the diazotization has ended.
A solution of 30.2 parts of 2- [3'- (1 "- aza- 2" - keto - cyclopentyl) phenylamino] naphthalene in 200 parts of 100% acetic acid is poured into the well-stirred suspension of the diazo compound , heats the mixture to 40-50 and stirs it at this temperature until the coupling is complete. The red monoazo dye precipitates; it is suctioned off, then dissolved in dilute sodium hydroxide solution, precipitated again with sodium chloride, then suctioned off and dried.
25.2 parts of the monoazo dye obtained are dissolved with 4 parts of sodium hydroxide in 800 parts of water. A solution of 7.1 parts of crystallized cobalt sulfate, 2.8 parts of sodium hydroxide and 63 parts of 3% tartaric acid solution is added to this solution and the mixture is heated to 60 until no more metal-free monoazo compound can be detected in it.
The cobalt complex compound formed is precipitated from the solution by sodium chloride, then filtered off, dried and ground. It is a dark powder that dyes wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers in gray-purple tones.
The red monoazov compound obtained in this example can be converted into the chromium complex compound according to the information in Example 1. This is a dark powder that dyes wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers in gray tones.
Example 4 20.2 parts of 2-amino-1-hydroxy-benzene-4-sulfonic acid methylamide are in a mixture of 20 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and 100 parts of water at 0 to 5 with a Diazotized solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite and 30 parts of water. The diazo suspension is combined at 0 to 5 with a solution of 24.8 parts of N - [7 '- hydroxynaphthyl (1')] - 1-aza-2-keto-cyclohexane, 4 parts of sodium hydroxide,
20 parts of sodium carbonate and 250 parts of water. The mass is stirred for several hours at 0-5. After this time, the coupling reaction is complete. The partially separated dye is precipitated by acidifying its solution, then filtered off with suction, washed and dried.
When ground it is a dark powder, which dissolves in water with a violet color and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a claret-red color. Its dyeings on wool, produced by the post-chrome plating process or the single-bath chrome plating process, are reddish-tinged gray and have very good wash, milled and lightfastnesses.
To convert into the cobalt complex compound, 45.6 parts of the monoazo dye obtained are dissolved in 30 parts of 30% strength sodium hydroxide solution and 1000 parts of water at 90 °. 80 parts of hot 20% cobalt sulphate solution are added dropwise to this solution and the cobalt-containing azo dye is then separated off, filtered off and dried.
The ground dye is a violet powder which colors wool, silk and polyamide fibers in violet shades with very good fastness properties.
The table below contains further starting materials for the preparation of monoazo dyes and metal-containing azo dyes as described in Examples 1 to 4..
