EMI1.4
EMI2.1
in Betracht kommt.

EMI1.1
where y is a substituent capable of forming metal complexes, z is a phenolic or enolic hydroxy group or a primary or secondary amino group adjacent to the -NN- group, n is the number 1 or 2 and B is the remainder of an azo component (apart from z and any other substituents ) means, and of derivatives thereof bearing further substituents in B and in nucleus A, which is characterized by
that 1 mole of the diazo compound from an aminobenzene bearing an aminobenzene which is capable of metal complex formation in the ortho position to the amino group with 1 mole of an azo component coupling to a phenolic or enolic hydroxyl group or to a primary or secondary amino group, the starting materials also once or twice the grouping

have and wherein azo components of the formula
EMI1.3
in which HO- and -N <are neither in ortho nor in peri-position to one another are excluded.
The monoazo dyes obtained can be treated as such with a metal donor.
The substituent y of the diazo component which enables metal complex formation is preferably a hydroxy, a methoxy or a carboxy group. Of the other substituents which the nucleus A can carry are, for. B. to mention: halogen atoms (chlorine, bromine), nitro, acetylamino, carbo methoxyamino, carbethoxyamino, methyl, ethyl, tert-butyl, methoxy, sulfonic acid, sulfonic acid amide, Sulfonic acid methylamide, sulfonic acid dimethyl amide, sulfonic acid (2'-hydroxy) ethylamide, sulfonic acid di (2'-hydroxyethyl) amide, sulfonic acid hydroxypropyl amide,
Sulfonic acid methoxypropylamide, sulfonic acid phenylamide, sulfonic acid (2'-carboxy) phenyl amide, methylsulfonyl groups and one
EMI1.4
As azo components, for. B. into consideration: hydroxybenzenes, hydroxynaphthalenes, aminonaphthalenes, alkylamino-, cycloalkylamino-, aralkylamino- and arylaminonaphthalenes, l-aryl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolones, acylacetylaminoalkanes, acylacetylamino- benzenes and acylacetylaminonaphthalenes. These azo components can have the same substituents as the diazo components, the preferred substituent being the
EMI2.1
comes into consideration.
The diazotization of the aminobenzenes can be carried out in a customary manner; the heterocyclic ring
EMI2.2
is resistant to acids and alkalis in the cold.
The coupling of the diazo compound with the azo component containing a phenolic or enolic hydroxyl group is advantageously carried out at 0 to 10 ° C. in a weakly acidic to weakly alkaline or strongly alkaline medium, optionally in the presence of pyridine, while the coupling with the azo component containing a primary or secondary amino group is carried out at is best carried out at 10 to 200 C in a weakly acidic, preferably acetic acid medium. The monoazo compounds formed are separated from the coupling compounds, if necessary by means of salt, and then filtered off.
The conversion of the monoazo dyes into their metal complex compounds is preferably carried out using compounds of chromium and cobalt. The metallization is advantageously carried out in an aqueous solution or in an organic medium, for example in formamide, or in the concentrated aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of a low molecular weight aliphatic monocarboxylic acid. It is advantageous to allow an amount of a metal donor containing less than two but at least one atom of metal to act on two molecules of monoazo dye.
Suitable compounds of chromium are, for. B. Chromifluorid, Chromisulfat, Chromiformiat, Chromiacetat, Kaliumchromisulfat or Ammoniumchromisulfat. The chromates, e.g. B. sodium or potassium chromate or bichromate are particularly suitable for the metallization of monoazo dyes. It is advantageous to work here in a strongly alkaline medium, it being possible to add reducing substances if necessary.
As cobalt compounds z. B. cobalt formate, cobaltoacetate and cobaltosulfate. If the metallization is carried out in the concentrated aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of a low molecular weight aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, then water-insoluble metal compounds can also be used, for example cobalt hydroxide and cobalt carbonate.
The metallization is particularly advantageously carried out in an aqueous or alkaline medium, the metal compounds being added in the presence of compounds which keep the metals dissolved in a complex bond in a caustic alkaline medium, e.g. B. tartaric acid, citric acid and lactic acid.
The metal complex compounds obtained can, if appropriate, after pouring the organic metallization solutions into water, separated out from an aqueous medium by adding salt, then filtered off, if appropriate washed and then dried.
The metal-containing azo dyes obtained are uniform metal complex compounds in which essentially one atom of metal is bonded to two molecules of the monoazo compound. The metal complex compounds are so-called 1: 2 complexes, in which one molecule of monoazo compound is linked to about 0.3-0.7 atom of metal.
The new monoazo dyes dye wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers in red, yellow, green, blue, purple, gray or brown shades with good wash, milled and lightfastness using the post-chrome plating or single-bath chrome plating process.
The metal-containing azo dyes dye wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers from a neutral or weakly acidic dye bath in red, yellow, green, blue, purple, gray or brown real shades. They are also suitable for dyeing masses intended for spinning that are dissolved in organic solvents and for all types of varnish and plastics.
The designation of the diazo and azo components used in the examples is based on the following numbering:
EMI2.3
N- (4'-R-phenyl) -1-aza- 4- [1'-aza-2'-keto-3'-oxa-
2-keto-3-oxacyclopentane cyclopentyl] -1-R-benzene
In the examples, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
example 1
22.85 parts of N- (3'-amino-2'-hydroxy-5'-chlorophenyl) -l-aza-2-keto-3-oxa-cyclopentane are poured over with 20 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and 180 parts of water . This mixture is cooled to 0 ', the solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite in 30 parts of water is gradually added and it is stirred for a further 20 to 30 minutes at 0-5 in order to end the diazotization. The diazo solution is then neutralized to a pH of 5.0-6.0 by adding dropwise 25-30 parts of 20% aqueous sodium carbonate solution and combined at 0-5 with a solution of 22 parts of 1-acetylamino-7 -hydroxy-naphthalene, 4.4 parts of sodium hydroxide, 10 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate and 250 parts of water.
The mass is stirred for several hours at 0-5 until the coupling reaction has ended. After this time, the resulting dark suspension is heated to 40, the monoazo dye is completely precipitated using sodium chloride, filtered off, dried and ground.
It is a black-blue powder, which dissolves in water with blue and in concentrated sulfuric acid with burgundy color. Its blue-gray dyeings on wool produced by the post-chrome plating or one-bath chrome plating process have excellent wash, milled and light fastness properties.
Proceed as follows to dye:
2 parts of the above-described monoazo dye and 10 parts of anhydrous sodium sulfate are dissolved in 6000 parts of water. 100 parts of wool are added to the dye liquor prepared in this way and the bath is heated to 100 over the course of about 30 minutes. After adding 20 parts of 10% acetic acid, dyeing is carried out at boiling temperature for 30 minutes, 20 parts of 10% formic acid are added to the bath and it is kept at 100 for 30 minutes, replacing the evaporated water from time to time.
Then 1 part of sodium dichromate is added as a 10% aqueous solution to the dye liquor and the temperature is kept at 100 for 30 minutes. The re-chromed wool is taken out of the dye bath, rinsed with water and dried. It is dyed in a level blue-gray shade of very good wash, milled and lightfastness.
The new diazo component used to prepare the monoazo dye of this example is prepared in the following manner: The amino group of 1-amino-2-hydroxy-5-chlorobenzene is acylated using the chloroformic acid (2'-chloro) ethyl ester, and the 1-carbo obtained is stirred - (2'-chloro) ethoxy-amino-2-hydroxy-5-chloro-benzene for several hours at 40 "in 2-4% sodium hydroxide solution, the N- (2'-hydroxy" 5'- formed by cyclization) chlorophenyl) -1-aza-2-keto-3-oxa-cyclopentane by acidification, it is filtered off and it is dried.
The dry N- (2'-hydroxy-5'-chlorophenyl) -1-aza-2-keto-3-oxa-cyclopentane with a melting point of 186 is dissolved at 0-10 in five times the amount of concentrated sulfuric acid and used in a known manner Way mononitrated with a nitric acid sulfuric acid mixture. The N- (2'-hydroxy-3'-nitro-5'-chloro-phenyl) -1-aza 2-keto-3-oxa-cyclopentane produced in this way is precipitated by pouring the nitrating solution into plenty of water, then filtered off with Washed with water and reduced to N- (2'-hydroxy-3'-amino-5-chlorophenyl) -l-aza-2-keto-3-oxa-cyclopentane in the customary Béchamp manner.
44 parts of the monoazo dye of this example are dissolved in 440 parts of formamide. This solution is then heated to 100-110, 30 parts of potassium chromisulphate are added to it within 30 minutes and it is kept at 100-120 until the chromium complex formation has ended. The chromizing compound is then poured into 1200 parts of water, whereupon the chromium-containing azo dye is salted out, filtered off and dried. After grinding, it is a blue-black powder which dyes wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers and leather in blue-gray shades with excellent wash, milled and light fastness properties.
2 parts of the chromium-containing azo dye thus obtained are dissolved in 4,000 parts of water at 40 to 50 times. 100 parts of pre-wetted wool are put into this solution and 2 parts of 1000 / oigne are added dropwise.
Acetic acid, whereupon the dyebath is heated to the boil within 30 minutes and held at this temperature for another 45 minutes. The dyed wool is then removed from the liquor, rinsed with water and dried. A dyeing is obtained which has very good fastness to light, washing and milling.
44 parts of the monoazo dye of Example 1 are dissolved at 60 in a solution of 8 parts of sodium hydroxide in 1500 parts of water. A solution of 15 parts of cobalt sulphate in 600 parts of water, made alkaline by means of aqueous ammonia solution, is allowed to flow into this solution over a period of 30 minutes, the metallizing compound is kept at 60 for 10 minutes, the cobalt complex compound is salted out and filtered off .
The dried and ground cobalt-containing dye is a blue-black powder that dyes wool and synthetic polyamide fibers in very real gray tones.
Example 2
15.4 parts of 2-amino-1-hydroxy-4-nitro-benzene are mixed in a mixture of 20 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and 100 parts of water with a solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite in 30 parts Water added. The suspension is stirred at 0-5 until the diazotization has ended, it is then carefully neutralized with 5 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate and it is gradually added to a solution of 19.3 parts of N- (2 ' - Hydroxy-5'-methyl-phenyl) -1-aza-2-keto-3-oxa-cyclopentane and 4 parts of sodium hydroxide in 350 parts of pyridine. After the coupling has ended, the pyridine is distilled off in vacuo, whereupon the monoazo dye formed is precipitated, filtered off with suction, dried and ground.
A black powder is obtained which dissolves in water with a red color and dyes wool reddish-brown in the single-bath chrome plating process.
This coloring is carried out as follows:
100 parts of wool are placed in a dye liquor which consists of 2 parts of dye, 10 parts of Glauber's salt, 6 parts of ammonium sulfate, 2 parts of potassium dichromate and 6000 parts of water.
The bath is heated to boiling within 15 minutes and kept boiling for 90 minutes.
The red-brown colored piece of wool is then taken out of the bath, rinsed with water and dried. The dyeing obtained has very good wash, milled and lightfastness.
35.8 parts of the resulting monoazo dye of the formula
EMI4.1
are dissolved at 90 in 1000 parts of water and 4 parts of sodium hydroxide. The dye solution is then treated with a solution of 9 parts of sodium dichromate and 4 parts of sodium hydroxide in 100 parts of water and a solution of 16 parts of grape sugar in 80 parts of water.
The metallization solution is then kept at 90-95 until the complex formation is complete, the chromium-containing azo dye is isolated and it is dried. It is a dark powder that dyes wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers and leather in real red-brown tones.
35.8 parts of the monoazo dye described in the first paragraph of this example are introduced at 90 into a suspension consisting of 400 parts of crystallized sodium acetate, 40 parts of water and 8 parts of cobalt carbonate. The mixture is heated to 100-110 and this temperature is maintained for half an hour, that is to say until no more starting monoazo dye can be detected. The suspension is poured into 500 parts of cold water.
The mixture is stirred until the sodium acetate has dissolved and the cobalt-containing azo dye has separated out completely, the latter is filtered off, dried and ground. It is a dark powder that dissolves in water with a reddish-brown color and dyes wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers and leather in shades that are light, washable and whackfast.
The 8 parts of cobalt carbonate used here can easily be replaced by 6.3 parts of cobalt hydroxide.
Example 3
18.8 parts of 2-amino-1-hydroxy-benzene-4-sulfonic acid amide are dissolved in 18 parts of fig hydrochloric acid and 100 parts of water. The solution is cooled to 0, a concentrated aqueous solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite is added and it is stirred at 0-5 until the diazotization has ended.
A solution of 30.4 parts of 2- [3'- (1 "-Aza-2" -keto-3 "-oxa-cyclopentyl) phenylamino] naphthalene with a melting point of 1820 is poured into the well-stirred suspension of the diazo compound 200 parts of 100 liter acetic acid, the mixture is heated to 40-50 and stirred at this temperature until the coupling is complete. The red monoazo dye precipitates, is filtered off with suction, then dissolved in dilute sodium hydroxide solution, again with sodium chloride precipitated, then sucked off and dried.
25.2 parts of the monoazo dye obtained are dissolved with 4 parts of sodium hydroxide in 800 parts of water. This solution is mixed with a solution of 7.1 parts of crystallized cobalt sulfate, 2.8 parts of sodium hydroxide and 63 parts of 3 / piger tartaric acid solution and the mixture is heated to 60 until no more metal-free monoazo compound can be detected in it. The cobalt complex compound formed is precipitated from the solution by sodium chloride, then filtered off, dried and ground. It is a dark powder that dyes wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers in grayish blue tones.
The red monoazo compound obtained in this example can be converted into the chromium complex compound as described in Example 1. This is a dark powder that dyes wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamide fibers in gray tones.
