Ball ring mill The present invention is a ball ring mill with an even number of balls wreaths, which are pressed in pairs in opposite directions by grinding tracks arranged on the drive shaft against grinding tracks arranged in the housing and in which the grinding tracks working together with a ball ring are inclined to Face mill axis.
Commercially available ball ring mills usually have a substantially horizontal grinding process, which consists of an upper, spring-loaded, statio nary grinding ring and a lower, driven grinding ring, which transmits the grinding pressure via the drive shaft to an axial bearing. The grinding effect is well affected by the grinding that collects in the lower grinding path, which forms a trough, and the scope of these mills is limited to dry grinding due to the varied grinding space.
There are similar executions with several, series-connected grinding operations known, as well as ball ring mills with essentially vertical grinding surfaces, in which the grinding pressure is effected by centrifugal force, and ball ring mills with inclined grinding surfaces, in which the grinding pressure is applied to the ball rings inelastic.
The ball ring mill according to the present invention differs from existing designs in that the rotating grinding tracks are braced by a single resilient means, which is arranged in the axial direction outside one of the two rotating grinding tracks at the ends of the grinding unit.
Fig. 1 shows the grinding unit with two grinding steps and any non-positive, for example pneumatic pressure device in cross section. Fig. 2 shows an embodiment with two grinding courses, spring loading and drive from above for wet grinding.
Fig. 3 shows an embodiment with four grinding courses, spring loading, drive via a gear from below and built sifter with feed device. Fig. 4 shows an embodiment with six grinding courses, spring loading, grist conveying upwards, drive from above for wet grinding.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes the drive shaft, 2 the coupling half connected to it, 3 the first, axially displaceable inner ring driven by the shaft, 4 the second inner ring axially fixed on the shaft, 5 the stationary outer ring with two grinding surfaces, 6 the grinding balls , 7 the cylinder of a pneumatic pressure device, which is firmly connected to the inner ring 3, 8 the associated piston attached to the drive shaft 1, 9 a hole in the drive shaft 1 for the supply of compressed air, 10 the cover of the pressure device, 11 a slinger ,
12 the upper part of the housing with an opening for the grinding material supply, 13 the lower part of the housing with drive unit 18 and compressed air supply 45. The grinding tracks that work with each ball ring are opposite one another at an angle to the mill axis. The compressed air enclosed in the cylinder 7 represents a resilient means arranged in the axial direction outside the rotating grinding track 3.
The way it works is as follows: The grist passes through the opening in the upper part of the housing 12 onto the cover of the printing device 10, from there it is evenly distributed over the entire circumference, the first grinding process 3, 6, 5 and then the second 5 , 6, 4 supplied. The meal is conveyed to the outside through the slinger 11 in the spiral housing lower part 13, through opening 41. The prevailing pneumatic cal pressure in the cylinder 7 causes the inner rings 3 and 4 to be pressed against the outer ring 5 via the grinding balls 6, the pressure level depending on the material to be ground and the desired grinding fineness. The grinding pressure and the fineness can also be influenced by selecting the drive speed.
The weight of the rotating parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11 represents a constant component of the grinding pressure, which, however, only acts on the first grinding cycle, which is quite desirable.
In FIG. 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10 and 18 designate the same elements as in FIG. 1. 14 is a tensioning element screwed onto the drive shaft end, 15 is a spring, 16 is the upper part of the housing with a filling opening 42, cover ring 43 and inlet tube for the grinding liquid 44, 17 the lower housing part screwed with parts 16 and 5, 19 a vibrating channel for the grinding material, 21 a container.
The operation of the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 is as follows: The grist comes from the shaker 19 through opening 42, the grinding liquid through a lassrohr 44 in the grinding passages 4, 6, 5 and 5, 6 and 3 and the grist through the Lower housing part 17, open at the bottom, in any container 21. The grinding pressure is determined, as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1, by the weight of the rotating parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 14 and 15, and furthermore by the centrifugal force of the grinding balls 6, which can be adjusted as required, and the pressure of the spring 15, which can be adjusted by the clamping element 14.
In Figure 3, 1 denotes the drive shaft, 2 the coupling half connected to it, 3 the first axially displaceable inner ring driven by the shaft, 4 the second inner ring fixed on the drive shaft 1, 23 and 24 the axially displaceable inner rings located in between, 22 the housing for the grinding rings, 25 the first fixed pair of outer rings, 26 the axially displaceable second pair of outer rings secured against rotation, 27 retaining ring for the fixed pair of outer rings, 6 the grinding balls, 10 the protective cover over the spring pressure device with tensioning element 14 and springs 15, 11 a slinger ,
13 the lower part of the housing with opening 41 for the grist outlet, 18 the drive unit, e.g. a gear, 12 the upper part of the housing designed as a wind sifter, 29 the riser, 30 the conical attachment, 31 the spiral-shaped sifter housing, 32 adjustable guide surfaces, 33 adjustment ring for guide surfaces, 34 clamping screw for adjustment ring, 35 separator base,
36 cylindrical inner surface of the coarse material silo, 37 casing of the annular outlet channel placed on it, 38 outlet connection tangentially connected to the annular channel, 39 feed pipe for the ground material, 40 annular gap between the sifter bottom and coarse material silo, 46 cell wheel, 47 housing of the cell wheel, 48 drive of the cellular wheel, 49 silo, 50 adjustable slide,
51 adjusting spindle for the slide and 20 a centrifugal separator.
The operation of the embodiment shown in Fig. 3 is as follows: The grist comes from the silo 49 through a gap formed by the adjustable slide 50 in the cellular wheel 46, which conveys the grist through the feed tube 39 into the grinding chamber. Depending on the size of the gap released by the slide 50, a smaller or larger cone of material is created from ground material, whereby the delivery rate can be changed. A drive motor 48 with variable speeds for the cellular wheel 45 serves the same purpose.
The ground material emerging from the feed pipe 39 hits the cover 10 of the pressure device and is from there, evenly distributed over the entire circumference, fed to the first grinding stage 3, 6, 2.5 and from there passes through the three remaining grinding stages into the housing. Lower part 13, which is formed spirally. The grist is conveyed to the outlet opening 41 through the centrifugal ring 11.
The centrifugal separator 20 connected to the sifter 35, 37 is connected to an exhaust fan, not shown, and the pressure difference thus generated causes the grinding material to be conveyed up in the riser 29. Ground material and air are then positioned tangentially through the spiral-shaped sifter housing 31 and the Guide surfaces 32 set in rotation. This rotation of the air and grist causes the separation of particles above a desired grain size.
The finer particles, the so-called classified material, are entrained by the radially inwardly pulling air flow against the centrifugal force and pass through the annular outlet channel 37 and the tangentially connected outlet port 38 into the centrifugal separator 20, from where the air is sucked upwards and the classified material is bottled down.
The separated coarse material is conveyed by the centrifugal force against the effect of the radial, inward pulling the air flow on the separator bottom 35 to the outside and passes through the annular gap 40 down into the silo for coarse material and from there in turn into the grinding chamber.
The guide surfaces 32 can be rotated from the outside, for example via a toothed segment, a toothed ring, or, as shown, adjusting pin and adjusting ring 33 and thus the tangential component of the air flow or the separating size for the cut material.
The setting of the grinding pressure takes place as in Figure 2 via a clamping element 14 and the spring 15, which in this case is designed as plate springs. The first pair of outer rings 25 is mounted in a ring holder 27, which in turn rings in the housing for the grinding 5, in which the second outer ring pair 26 is axially displaceable, but secured against rotation. The grinding pressure is transmitted from the first inner ring 3 to the first outer ring 25 and from the last inner ring 4 via the axially displaceable outer rings 26 and the axially displaceable inner rings 24 to the lower fixed outer ring 25.
In Fig. 4, 61 denotes the drive shaft, 62 the coupling half fastened to the shaft, 63 the first driven inner ring axially movable on the shaft, 64 the second inner ring fixed on the shaft, 67 axially displaceable inner rings, 65 the ring housing, 68 den first fixed outer ring, 69 the axially displaceable outer rings.
70 the last fixed outer ring, 66 the grinding balls, 71 a pressure disc with external thread, 72 a compression spring, 73 the cover of the pressure device, which is firmly connected to the inner ring 63, 74 the lower part of the housing, 75 the upper part of the housing, 76 an impeller , 77 the bearing of the drive, 52 a container with inlet pipe 53 and outlet pipe 54. The housing 65 encloses the grinding device and at the same time forms the centering of the outer rings 68, 69 and 70.
The mode of operation of the embodiment shown in FIG. 4 is as follows: The material to be ground with the grinding liquid enters the container 52 through the feed pipe 53, the material to be ground sinks to the bottom and is sucked into the interior of the lower housing part 74 by the pump wheel 76 where it ascends through the grinding passages into the pump wheel 76 itself and from there is conveyed out again into the container 52. The finely ground particles are sucked off with the grinding liquid through the drainage pipe 54, while the excessively coarse particles sink down and get back into the grinding circuit.
The grinding pressure is set by the spring 72, which can be adjusted by the pressure disk 71, on the one hand via the first inner ring 63, on the first fixed outer ring 68 and on the other hand via the drive shaft 61 and the second inner ring 64 axially fixed on the shaft via the axially The displaceable outer rings 69 and the axially displaceable inner rings 67 are transferred to the last stationary outer ring 70.
The grinding chamber does not have any internals that interfere with the flow of material; H. ensures undisturbed passage of the ground material. The grinding unit is self-contained, does not transmit any axial forces to be absorbed by a bearing outside the grinding chamber and can be provided with a drive from the feed or discharge side and used for dry and wet grinding as required. It is also possible to combine the grinding unit with any drive and feed devices as well as grist separators.
The main advantages of the ball ring mill described above compared to known designs are therefore seen in the many possible uses of one and the same grinding unit and in the possibility of using the operating conditions which have a favorable effect on the fineness of the grinding and the power requirements.
