Method for connecting the flush pipe to a toilet bowl To connect the flush pipe to a toilet bowl, a metal ring and a rubber seal are usually pushed onto the flush pipe, whereupon the end of the flush pipe is inserted into the connecting piece of the toilet bowl with a small flange and a metal ring and the flange cross clamp in the form of a ge slotted ring is tightened by means of attacking screws at their ends.
As a result, the metal ring is pressed onto the flange and the rubber seal in between is pressed firmly against the flange and the circumference of the flushing pipe by the ring. This connection method has the disadvantage that when cleaning the outside of the flush pipe and the toilet bowl, the cleaning rag gets stuck on the screws mentioned and tears; Furthermore, the screws and the metal ring rust, or the latter has to be nickel-plated or chrome-plated to prevent rust, which is relatively expensive. After all, the assembly of the various connecting parts requires quite a lot of work. Other known connection methods have essentially the same disadvantages and require even more assembly work.
The present invention avoids these parts after. It relates to a method for connecting the flushing pipe to a toilet bowl, the connecting piece of which has a flange. The same is characterized according to the invention in that a shrink ring is produced from a plastic that can be deformed by heat, a shrink part of this ring is deformed in the warm state and then cooled, a rubber-elastic sealing ring is inserted in a seat provided on the shrink ring,
pushes the deformed shrink part over the flange of the connection piece, heats the shrink ring again so that its shrink part grips behind the flange through back deformation and sits firmly on it, and that finally the flushing pipe is pushed into the connection piece,
so that the sealing ring, which protrudes slightly inward into the clear cross-section of the connection piece, is expanded and firmly pressed between the circumference of the flushing pipe, the flange and the shrink ring: The patent also relates to a connection set for carrying out this method.
Based on the drawing, an embodiment of the method according to the inven tion is explained in more detail below. There are: 'Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through an embodiment of the connection fitting according to the invention, and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through a flushing pipe connected to the fitting according to FIG. 1 on a toilet bowl.
The connection set shown consists of a shrink ring 1 and a sealing ring 2. The shrink ring 1 consists of a plastic, for. B. polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene, which has the property that a Ge object made from it can be permanently deformed in a warm state under the following gender cooling, but when rewarmed tends to assume its original shape again. Such a plastic is thus deformable by heat.
The sealing ring 2 consists of a rubber elastic material, for. B. made of synthetic rubber. The shrink ring 1 has a profile which is delimited on the outside by an axially parallel straight line 3 which then merges tangentially into an outwardly convex circular arc 4 of 900.
On the inside of the profile, the straight line 3 is opposed to a straight line 5 that is almost parallel to the same, while the circular arc 4 initially has a circular arc 6 of approx Edge of the subsequent circular arc 7 of 90.1 stand against, which latter is tangentially a little longer in the direction perpendicular to the ring axis ver.
The sealing ring 2 has a circular cross-section, the radius of its cross-section being equal to the radius of the circular arc 7. It should be emphasized that the seat corresponding to the circular arc 7 for the sealing ring 2 in both the radial and axial directions of smaller dimensions than this sealing ring itself.
The shrink ring 1 is not originally produced in the shape just described. Its shrink part 8, bounded in cross section by the approximately parallel straight lines 3 and 5, initially has the shape 8 'shown in dashed lines after the pressing or injection molding of the ring 1, that is, on the outside by a continuation of the circular arc 4 and on the inside by a continuation of the circular arc 6 limited. In the warm state, the shrink part 8 ′ is now deformed and cooled immediately so that it assumes the shape 8.
The connection set is supplied in the form shown in full lines in FIG. 1 to the sellers of toilet bowls.
The connection piece 9 of the toilet bowl is usually seen with a small flange 10 ver, over which the shrink part 8 shown in dashed lines in Fig. 2 is pushed after the sealing ring 2 has been placed in its seat corresponding to the circular arc 7. Thereupon the shrink ring 1 is heated by means of a warm air apparatus, the shrink part 8 being deformed in the sense of its original shape 8 'and the form 8 "drawn in Fig. 2, in which it engages behind the flange 10 and sits firmly on the same .
The seal 2 is pressed by the shrink ring 1 against the flange 10 and now protrudes slightly inward into the clear cross section of the connecting piece 9, as shown in FIG. 2 by dashed lines.
In order to connect the flushing pipe 11 to the connection piece 9, you now only need to push the flushing tube into the connecting piece. In the process, the sealing ring 2 expands somewhat and assumes the shape 2 ′, being pressed firmly between the circumference of the flushing pipe 11, the flange 10 and the shrink ring 1.
The on-site assembly work now only takes a small fraction of the time previously required. The fitting of the set on the connection piece also takes very little time and can easily be carried out in a sales shop as standard. The connection is extremely tight and durable, it does not rust and is very easy to clean as it has no protruding parts such as screws and the like. In addition, the production costs of the set are considerably lower than those of the previously common sets.
