Stangenhalterung

For the attachment of handrails, as they are preferably used in bathrooms and other sanitary facilities or for wall runs, flange connections that are firmly connected to the handrails are widely used. Since these flange connections are conveniently provided with fastening holes when they are made, difficulties often arise during assembly on walls provided with wall plates, because experience shows that in the rarest of cases the joints between the plates that are particularly suitable for attaching dowels or stone screws that they lie outside the longitudinal axis of the rod for the purpose of properly tightening the screws. In addition, dirt can accumulate in the area of the screw heads.
The rod holder according to the invention aims to avoid these disadvantages. It is characterized by a support flange rigidly connected to a fastening end of the holding rod with fastening holes and a central bore for receiving the said fastening end, as well as a cover rosette removably connected to the support flange with an outer collar section encompassing the flange periphery and an inner collar section encompassing the end area of the holding rod.
A preferred embodiment is that the support flange is a flat disc with an annular support zone at the front end of an attachment connected in one piece to the center part and that the periphery of this attachment is provided with a thread into which a on the inner wall of the outer collar part on the cover rosette provided thread engages.
A holder suitable for absorbing greater forces can be designed so that the central bore is attached to the support flange in a hub in which the fastening end of the support rod is guided, and that the end of the hub facing the support flange has a thread section which is connected to the inner wall of the inner collar part engages the thread provided on the cover rosette, the thread on the inner wall of the inner collar part on the cover rosette preferably only being provided on a part of the length of the said collar part facing the hub, while the remaining part length has a cylindrical surface and one the core diameter of the thread just exceeds the diameter.
Details and advantages of the invention emerge from the following description of some exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawing. 1, 2 and 3 each show a sectional view of possible implementation variants according to the invention.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes a holding rod consisting of a tube, the fastening end of which is provided with a connection piece 4 (shown in dashed lines) engaging in a bore 2 in a support flange 3. A nut 5, by means of which the holding rod can be firmly connected to the support flange 3, is seated on the flange-side end. The latter is pulled by two (or more) screws 6 against a base 7 on which a support surface formed at the outer end of a projection 8, which is integrally connected to the flange disk, rests.
On the periphery of the extension 8 a thread 9 is provided which engages in a mating thread on the inner wall of the outer collar part 10 of a cover rosette 11, whereby the rosette can be screwed to the support flange. The cover rosette also has an inner collar part 12, the bore of which is selected so that it encompasses the outside diameter as closely as possible on the one hand, but is large enough on the other hand that the rosette 11 also over any arched part (not shown) of the holding rod 1 during assembly can be pushed back without damaging its surface.
Rod holders of the type shown in FIG. 1 preferably consist of a metal flange 3 produced using a pressing process and a deep-drawn rosette 11.
Fig. 2 shows a rod holder with a holding rod 21, a flange 22 and a cover rosette 23, which is essentially suitable for absorbing greater forces. The holding rod 21 has an end pin 24 with a smaller diameter than the rod itself.
The pin 24 engages in the center bore in a hub 25 connected in one piece to the flange disk. The connection between the holding rod 21 and the support flange 22 is in turn secured by a nut 26.
The fastening of the rosette 23 on the support flange 22 takes place by means of a threaded connection 27; wherein the end of the hub facing away from the support flange has a thread portion which engages in a thread provided on the inner wall of the inner collar portion 28 on the rosette. The thread on said inner wall is preferably only applied to a part of the length of the collar portion 28 facing the hub 25, while the remaining part, directed outwards, has a cylindrical surface and a diameter just exceeding the core diameter of the thread. This measure essentially serves the purpose of being able to move the rosette easily over a possible arc in the holding rod next to one end of the same without damaging its surface.
Another embodiment of a rod holder according to the invention is shown in FIG. 3, in which two variants of a rosette holder on correspondingly designed support flanges are shown above and below a line A-A. These embodiments are particularly suitable when using rosettes 31 made of flexible plastic or rubber, in which the outer collar parts 32 are provided with beads 33, which are in undercuts on a support attachment 34 or in the case of a set-back support attachment 35 in the shoulder formed within the flange disk 36 intervention. Thanks to the elasticity of the material mentioned, the inner collar part 37 can be designed in such a way that its edge lip lies tightly against the holding rod 38.
Provided there is sufficient strength, the support flanges 3, 22 and 36 according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 can also be made of plastic, as can the cover rosettes 11 and 23 in the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
The advantage of the rod holder according to the invention is obvious: regardless of the course of the retaining rod, a matching horizontal or vertical joint between two wall plates can be used for attaching the screw fastening by swiveling the support flange into its position corresponding to the fastening holes after loosening its fastening nut Nut is tightened again afterwards.
The rosette, which completely covers the support flange, creates a clean finish.
