Description
Machine intended for drilling hard material, in particular hard metals and industrial stones, for the industry and for watchmaking. The present invention is a machine intended for drilling hard material by means of a rotary drill, in particular hard metals, of ceramics, industrial stones, stones for the industry or for watchmaking.
This machine is characterized in that at least one of the two elements, support of the workpiece and drill, is subjected to the action of a means imparting to them a vibratory movement of one with respect to the 'other.
Figs. 1, 2 and 3 are sections in elevation of the first, second and third embodiments.
In the first embodiment (fig. 1), the machine comprises a frame, partially shown, on which is fixed a doll 2 in the bearings 3 of which turns the shaft 4 of a spindle whose mandrel 5 clamps a drill 6. The shaft is mounted with an axial play limited by two stops 7. The index 8 designates the rotor of a high frequency electric motor controlling the rotation of the spindle and whose stator 9 carries windings 10.
The upper part of the doll has a housing in which is mounted an electromagnet whose coil 11, supplied by a native alternating current, surrounds a core 12. The latter has a conical housing 13 into which penetrates the tip 14 of the tree 4.
During drilling, the spindle is driven at high speed and attacks a workpiece, not shown, using an abrasive material. The electromagnet acts on the tip 14 of the shaft and gives the drill an axial vibratory movement. This vibration allows a better distribution of the abrasive on the active face of the drill and on that of the hole during drilling; it considerably improves the quality and speed of the latter.
In the second embodiment (fig. 3), 15 shows the frame of the machine in a housing of which is mounted an electromagnet, the opening of the coil 16 of which is crossed by a cleat 18 which slides there freely. This cleat is intended to receive at its upper end a workpiece not shown. The cleat is subjected to the action of a lever 17 with counterweight 20 tending to apply said part against the drill which is not shown either.
The coil is also supplied by an alternating current, the passage of which imparts an axial vibration to the batten, the amplitude of which is limited by the action of the rocker and by the amplitude of said current.
In the third embodiment (fig. 2), the shaft 21 of the spindle is rotatably controlled by a jet of fluid directed by a nozzle 22 on a bladed wheel 23. The upper end 24 of this shaft penetrates freely in the central opening 25 of a coil 26.
In all three embodiments, the frequency of the vibrations can be precisely regulated by a regulator of the frequency of the current mounted in the supply circuit.
