L'autre extrémité de la broche verticale 5 est maintenue centrée dans un alésage 9, par exemple au moyen d'un roulement à rouleaux cylindriques. Sur cette même extrémité de la broche verticale 5 est fixé rigidement un élément d'un couple d'en grenage, en l'occurrence une roue tangente 11 ;
The invention relates to a horizontal boring-milling machine, the head of which has a head through which a first boring spindle can pass and is provided with an auxiliary horizontal spindle for the milling tool holder and a vertical spindle tool holder for milling and boring. Its purpose is to make it possible to perform thereon any desired milling or vertical boring work without diminishing in any way the possibilities inherent in machines of this kind for milling and milling work. horizontal bore.
This is achieved by the fact that the auxiliary horizontal milling tool-holder spindle is coupled directly to the end of the sleeve for driving the first bore spindle in rotation and is hollow to allow passage of the latter.
It will be appreciated that, thanks to such an arrangement, it is possible to carry out, on a horizontal boring mill, all the desired operations of milling and vertical boring, and this without having to disassemble the part to modify its position, on the machine: It is thus possible, with a maximum reduction in idle times, to carry out machining with all the desired precision. The possibilities of such a machine can be further increased if it is provided with a vertical turning table. In this case, the aforementioned head is provided with means such as, for example, threaded holes or T-shaped grooves which make it possible to fix therein supports for turning tools, preferably in several directions.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
In this drawing, figs. 1 and 2 respectively show in front and side views the first embodiment.
Figs. 3 and 4 represent, also in front and side views respectively, the second embodiment.
In fig. 1 and 2, the head is removable and comprises a strongly ribbed housing 1, fixed to the upright end face 2 of the headstock 3 of a horizontal milling-boring machine by means of bolts, indicated in the drawing only by their axes 4.
In the housing 1 are mounted a vertical spindle holder for milling and boring tool 5 and an auxiliary horizontal spindle holder for milling tool 6. The vertical spindle 5 is supported, at one of its ends, by two Tapered roller bearings mounted in opposition (not shown) in a bore 7 of the housing 1 and capable of withstanding the axial forces and the radial forces applied to the spindle by the tool mounted on it, such as the cutter 8, for example.
The other end of the vertical spindle 5 is kept centered in a bore 9, for example by means of a cylindrical roller bearing. On this same end of the vertical spindle 5 is rigidly fixed an element of a graining pair, in this case a tangent wheel 11;
the other element of this pair, a worm 12, is carried by a shaft 13, one end of which is supported in a housing 14 provided with two conical roller bearings (not shown) and the other end in a housing 15 provided with a cylindrical roller bearing (also not shown).
The shaft 13 which carries the worm 12 is connected, by a coupling 16, to a power take-off shaft 17 mounted in the pulley 3. Preferably, the shaft 17 is mounted in the extension of the shaft. of the motor of the longitudinal feed movement of the spindle, in order to obtain maximum efficiency transmission and, consequently, the maximum power on the vertical spindle 5.
The horizontal spindle 6 is a simple extension attached to the front face of the sleeve 18 for driving the rotation of the usual boring spindle 19. The horizontal spindle 6 is hollow and its bore is of a sufficient diameter to allow le: passage of the sliding bore spindle 19. The spindle 6 also has, in the vicinity of its outer end, a centering intended to support the sliding spindle 19 to prevent it from bending under the cutting forces.
It is arranged so that the horizontal spindle 6 and the vertical spindle 5 preferably rotate at the same speed, to facilitate the selection of the cutting speeds. The strawberries that we will use with. this head, at least those which are intended to be mounted on the horizontal spindle 6, such as the cutter 21 for example, will be hollow if it is desired to see the use of the bore spindle 19 without being obliged to disassemble the cutter.
It can be seen that with the arrangement which has just been described, it is possible to use the vertical spindle 5 to do all the work relating to boring and vertical milling, while leaving it to the machine, without it being it is necessary to carry out the slightest disassembly,: all the possibilities inherent in a horizontal boring-milling machine, using either the horizontal spindle 6 or the sliding spindle 19, which can be pulled out at will through the hollow horizontal spindle 6.
In addition, in the case where the machine has a vertical turning plate, it will be: very advisable to provide on the head which has just been described, at the lower part thereof, an upright face, such as the face 22, intended to receive tool holders 23 on which one can fix vertical turning tools 24, preferably in two perpendicular directions, as shown in the sines. The upright face 23 will also preferably be provided with threaded holes or T-slots allowing the mounting of bar-holder supports 25 intended, for example, for the execution of internal turning operations in deep parts.
To facilitate the mounting of the head on the headstock of the machine, a positioning device comprises a boss 26 integral with the headstock 3 and pierced with a threaded hole in which is engaged a positioning screw 27 whose end is intended to come to bear against the housing 1 (see fig. 1). When the head is first mounted on the machine, the thickness of a washer 28 to be inserted between the outer face of the boss 26 and the underside of the head of the screw 27 is determined with precision in such a way that, when the screw is blocked on the boss, if the housing 1 is brought against the end of the screw 27, it is perfectly straightened in the vertical direction.
Several such locating devices can be provided on the periphery of the casing 1 which can thus be very easily removed by slightly loosening the screws and automatically returning them to position by locking the screws on the calibrated washers.
In fig. 3 and 4, there is a horizontal spindle 6 'driven by the sleeve 18 integral in rotation with the sliding bore spindle 19, -as the previous embodiment.
There is also a vertical spindle 5 ', but the drive mode of the latter is different and includes a gear pair of which an element 31 (a tangent wheel, in the example) is integral with the vertical spindle 5' and the other element 32 (a worm) is integral with the horizontal spindle 6 '.
This arrangement makes it possible to make the power take-off shaft 17 available and to use it under the direct control of another horizontal milling tool-holder spindle 34 which can be rotated at a range of different speeds. of that of the spindle 6 ', for example at higher speeds and thus increase the possibilities of the machine. The horizontal spindle 34 is mounted in a similar way to the horizontal spindle 6 ', the driving mode of which is the same.
It is also possible to provide all the supports for vertical turning tools or boring tools which have already been mentioned with regard to the first embodiment.
In the two embodiments described, the head is removable, but one could very well conceive of a head which would form an integral part of the headstock of the machine and which could even come from the foundry with it.
