Description
Armchair, in particular for a vehicle The present invention relates to an armchair, in particular for a vehicle.
This armchair is characterized by the fact that it comprises a seat and a backrest formed by armatures on which straps are removably mounted by means of coil springs, the whole being covered with padded covers.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front view and FIG. 2 a profile view of two complete armchairs.
Fig. 3 is a front view, FIG. 4 a side view and FIG. 5 a plan view of the frames of said chairs.
Figs. 6 to 11 represent springs connecting the straps to the armchair frames.
The drawing shows two armchairs mounted side by side on a frame fixed in a vehicle, for example in a bus. Each of them comprises a seat 1 and a backrest 2, the frames of which are constituted by tubular frames 3 and 4 to which straps 5 are attached and which are covered by padded covers 6 and 7.
The straps form a crossed network (FIG. 5) and are detachably attached to the tubes of the armatures by coil springs 8 ensuring an elastic suspension of the straps.
Each spring is made of steel wire and has a straight central part 9 around which the strap hangs and, on either side thereof, two flanges 10 whose axes are substantially parallel to the direction. the tensile force exerted by the strap. Each coil ends with a rod 11 lowering perpendicularly to the plane of the strap and intended to hook into a corresponding opening 12 made in the frame.
These rods have either an end 13 curved 901, and coming to rest against the face of the tube opposite the strap, as shown in FIG. 6, 7 and 10, ie a slight elbow 14 forming a shoulder and coming, still under the effect of the traction exerted by the strap, to lock in said opening 12 of the tube (fig. 9). The first type of spring can only be introduced when the strap is relaxed; but has the advantage of being very stable once mounted.
The second type of spring can be engaged and disengaged from the tubes, even when the straps are tensioned; however, it is less stable. The straps are all fitted on one side with springs of the first type which, during assembly, are engaged first, and on the other side with springs of the second type which are fitted only after the others. Of course, these springs can be attached to tubes of round or polygonal section as well as to T-bars (fig. 11).
The openings 12 are made on the upper surface of the tubes, set back with respect to a diameter of the latter perpendicular to the strap, so as to allow the tubes to rest on said tubes as shown in FIG. 7, for example.
The suspending devices for the straps described have the advantage of simple assembly and very small size. In addition, the coil springs provide a particularly effective suspension of the straps, in particular for automobile seats.
