Variable speed transmission mechanism with epicyclic gear The present invention relates to a variable speed transmission mechanism with epi cycloidal gear.
This mechanism is characterized in that it comprises a pulley driven by a belt and integral with the input element: of the train, and a planet carrier forming a cylindrical drum of the same diameter as the pulley and juxtaposed to the latter, so that said planet carrier drum is made integral with the pulley by the belt itself for a position of this belt overlapping the pulley and the drum.
In a particular embodiment, a device makes it possible to block the drum when the latter is not secured to the pulley.
According to this particular embodiment, the transmission mechanism makes it possible to obtain, by a very simple means, a first transmission ratio when, the planet carrier being blocked, the belt passes over the pulley alone and a second ratio when the belt drives the pulley and the planet carrier at the same speed, intermediate ratios can be achieved. by sliding the belt on the planet carrier. In addition,
a neutral position corresponds to the case where the belt passes over the pulley alone, while the planet carrier is not blocked and can therefore rotate freely in the opposite direction.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the transmission mechanism. Fig. 1 is an axial sectional view of the mechanism in a position where the planet carrier is blocked and where the belt passes over the pulley alone; fig. 2 is an elevational view, the belt being in the position where it overlaps the pulley and the planet carrier ; FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional elevation view partially cut away; fig. 4 is a detail view in section taken along line 4-4 of FIG. 3.
In the embodiment shown, the variable speed transmission mechanism is intended to drive a driven shaft 1 journaling in a bearing 2 of a frame 3, from a driving pulley. 4 driven by a belt 6, either in direct drive (fig. 1) or at reduced speed (fig. 2).
The pulley 4 is keyed at 7 on an axial extension 8 of an input planetary gear 9 rotating freely on the shaft 1 and in engagement with the large-diameter teeth 11 of two planetary gears 12 with double teeth rotatably mounted on axes 13 of a planet carrier 14, the other toothing 16, of small diameter, of these pinions 12 meshing with a planetary pinion 17 keyed on the driven shaft 1.
The planet carrier, 14 comprises two flanges 18, 19, crossed by the axes 13 and .solüdaires. respectively hubs 21, 22 rotating freely on corresponding surfaces 23, 24, planets 9 and 17. The flange 19 disposed on the side opposite to the pulley 4 is extended to form a drum 26 of the same diameter as the pulley and juxtaposed to it (fig. 1).
The end adjacent to the pulley of this drum comprises tabs 27 fixed by screws 28 (fig. 3 and 4) to the opposite flange 18, so that the planet carrier 14 constitutes a rigid cage.
To allow immobilization of the satellite carrier 14, a locking device is provided, shown schematically in FIG. 1. This device comprises an arm 29 integral with the frame 1 and supporting a sliding rod 31 provided with an operating handle 32 and capable of being engaged on the path of a lug 33 fixed to the flange 19, at the neighborhood of its periphery.
The operation of the mechanism is as follows when the belt 6 passes over the pulley 4 alone, as shown in FIG. 1, and that the locking rod 31 n. 'is not engaged with the lug 33 (position in phantom in fig. 1), the resistive torque applied to the shaft 1 blocks the output sun gear 17 and, when the pulley rotates in the direction of the arrow , the planet carrier is driven in the opposite direction,
the mechanism then being at a standstill.
If the satellite dish 14 is blocked, the rod 31 being in the position, shown in solid lines in FIG. 1, and that the pulley 4. Is driven, the shaft 1 is driven at the low speed corresponding to the multiplication created by the pairs of gears 9, 11 and 16, 17.
When you want to switch to direct drive, it suffices to pull the rod 31 by releasing it from the lug 33 and to slide the belt 6 from the position of FIG. 1 to that of FIG. 2, where it overlaps the pulley 4 and the drum 26 of the planet carrier cage 14. In this position., There is no relative rotation of the planetary and planet wheels and the angular speed of the shaft 1 is that of the driving pulley 4.
For positions of the belt 6 intermediate between the positions of fig. 1 and 2, there may be slippage of the belt relative to the cage 14 and in this case the mechanism will behave like a speed variator, the angular speed of the shaft 1 being between the high speed corresponding to FIG. . 1 and the reduced speed corresponding to FIG. 2.
