Description
Clamp for cords and the like The invention relates to a clamp for cords and the like.
Tents, rucksacks and similar items sometimes have cords that only have one end free for tying. Fixing this end often presents difficulties.
The clamp according to the invention is used to attach a single end of the cord and consists of two resiliently interconnected legs with an opening attached to each leg, for the purpose of pulling a cord through these openings, folding the drawn-through end of the cord around one leg and then bringing it between the legs, so that when the clamp is in use, the end of the cord is clamped between the two legs.
On the accompanying drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is shown in view.
The two legs 1 and 2 are resiliently connected to one another, with the leg 2 being bent away from the leg 1 at the free end. Both legs 1 and 2 each have a bore 3 and 4 which are aligned. Through the Boh stanchions 3, 4, the end of the cord to be fastened is pulled through and is then looped around one leg 2 ge and placed between the legs 1 and 2.
Since the cord is used to hold an object, there is a constant pull on the cord in the direction of the arrow. The end of the cord looped around the leg 2 pulls the leg 2 against the leg 1. However, the part of the cord lying between the legs 1 and 2 is jammed. The stronger the pull in the direction of the arrow, the more the two legs 1 and 2 are pressed together. This in turn provides a more secure hold for the end of the line. The cranked free end of the leg 2 is used to better introduce the cord between the legs 1 and 2.
Instead of the aligned bores, slots can also be arranged in such a way that their openings are directed in opposite directions. The end of the cord is inserted, for example, into the slot of the lower leg 1 from the left and into the slot of the upper leg 2 from the right, so that the cord cannot slip. The end of the cord must then be wrapped around the upper leg 2 on the left.
