Fig. 2 zeigt ein Fabrikationsstadium eines erfindungsgemässen Klotzbodenbeutels.
Bags and process for their manufacture
The present invention relates to a bag, in particular a cross-bottom bag or a block-bottom bag, with a bottom surface formed by opening one end of a tube and folding it.
In the manufacture of known cross-bottom bags, one end part of a tube piece is normally opened and crimped onto the flat piece of tube, the length of the opened and folded end part of the tube piece so. is dimensioned so that the edges of the folded hose end just come to rest butt against each other. This creates a slot-like opening here, which can only be closed more or less tightly by further folding the cross base and gluing it.
It is also already known to make the end part of the tube piece that is to be opened and folded longer, so that the edges of the opened tube end overlap, but folds arise in the overlap which tightly seal the slit-like formed between the overlapping edges Make opening difficult or impossible.
The bag according to the present invention is now characterized in that the bottom surface is tightly closed by hose parts lying flat on top of one another and connected to one another. The hose parts lying flat on top of one another are preferably placed on the inside against the inside so that they represent nothing other than a flat, tightly closed hose end.
The invention also relates to a method for producing the bag according to the invention, which is characterized in that one end part of a flat-lying tube piece is opened and folded in such a way that the inside of the edges of the said end part of the tube piece come flat on top of one another so that they can The edges are tightly joined together and the bottom of the bag is then completely folded and glued.
The bag according to the invention can be made of any suitable material, such as paper, plastic film or the like, but preferably made of a heat-sealable plastic, e.g. B. polyethylene, laminated paper or any heat-sealable impregnated flat material.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, which in FIGS. 1 and 2 shows, for example, a specific manufacturing stage of a cross-bottom bag or a block-bottom bag according to the invention.
The cross-bottom bag shown in Fig. 1 is made from a flat tube 1 made of paper laminated with a heat-sealable or weldable plastic, which tube is continuously produced in a manner known per se by folding a paper tape and sealing the edges 2 which are folded flat with the laminated inside becomes. In a likewise known manner, the hose 1 is now opened at the end shown ge, so that two triangular material flaps 3 and 4 are formed, which are then crimped flat onto the hose. The edges 5 and 6 of the tabs 3 and 4 now lying in the hose axis are both laid up and flat on top of one another in the manner indicated in FIG. 1, the lined inner sides of the hose material coming to rest on one another.
In this state, these edges delimit a slot-like opening or they form a flat tube end in which the inside lies against the inside. By means of a suitable sealing process, the insides of the edges 5 and 6 can now be tightly sealed, whereby the slot-like opening is tightly closed. It is now easy to see that the tube is absolutely tightly closed at the end shown, with the entire inner surface of the tube always being delimited by the plastic lamination, even on the cross base formed, i.e. not in contact with the unlaminated paper at any point, since all the sealed or weld points run along the edges of the tube 1 which lie on top of one another with the laminated inside.
The sealed or welded edges 5 and 6, which still rise in the manner shown, are now folded in any direction in the plane of the tube 1 or the material flaps 3 and 4, whereupon the flaps 3 and 4 together around the dash-dotted lines indicated points 7 and 8 are folded against the center line of the cross bottom indicated in dotted line 9 and glued to the cross bottom. The bag is now complete. Due to the hose parts 5 and 6 lying flat on top of one another and connected to one another, its bottom is not only absolutely powder-tight, but also closed in a moisture-tight and airtight manner, which is very desirable for storing powdered food.
With this use, after filling, the bag can also be hermetically sealed at the upper end (not shown) by means of a seal or weld.
Fig. 2 shows a manufacturing stage of a block bottom bag according to the invention. It is also made from a flat tube 1, although the seam 2 of the tube, along which the material lying flat on top of one another is connected, is folded down flat onto one side surface of the tube and is glued to the same. To produce the block-bottom bag, the side edges 10 of the originally flat tube are now first folded inward, with two new edges 11 lying symmetrically to the edge 10 being created. The tube is then opened and folded at the lower end so that the side surfaces of the otherwise flat tube are each formed into an outwardly inclined rectangular surface 12 and an inwardly inclined trapezoidal surface 13, which surfaces 12 and 13 abut one another along an edge 14.
Material triangles 15 and 16 are created between surfaces 12 and 13. The actual flat hose end 17 adjoins the lower edge of surfaces 13, which is now tightly closed in the aforementioned manner after folding. With the bag lying flat, the surfaces 13 and 12 are then placed flat on top of one another by pressing the tube end together in the direction of the tube axis, with the material triangles 15 and 16 likewise coming to lie flat on one another. The closed hose end 17, which is formed by hose parts lying flat on top of one another and connected to one another, is now folded flat in one direction or the other onto a surface 13 and glued to the same.
Finally, the laterally protruding over the edges 11, formed from the triangles 15, the surfaces 13 and the hose end 17 are folded down around the fold lines 18 indicated by dashed lines on the surfaces 13 and glued there, whereby a rectangular block bottom is formed. The surfaces 13 are reinforced by the inserted multilayer material flaps, so that the bottom of the bag has sufficient stability. For use, the bag is held at the bottom and pulled up at the upper end of the tube, with which the surfaces 12, the triangles 16 and the inner parts of the triangles 15 can be put back into the state of use perpendicular to the resulting bottom, in which a substantially cuboidal cavity in the bag is formed.
A bag with the same properties could also be produced from a film consisting entirely of heat-sealable or weldable plastic using one of the production methods described above.
However, the invention is not limited to the use of a material consisting of a heat-sealable or weldable material or a material laminated with such a material, but it could also be used with great advantage for the production of bags from ordinary paper, only at the points to be glued on the edge 2 and between the flaps 5 and 6 an application of adhesive could be applied. This adhesive application could preferably consist of an adhesive that is only adhesive to itself, as it is, for. B. is used on self-adhesive envelopes, which could be applied in machine production before the formation of the tube, or consist of a coating of a suitable thermoplastic material applied only to the points mentioned.
The invention could also be used with other flat-bottom bags and is not limited to cross-bottom bags and block-bottom bags.
