Halogen couples and converts the amino disazo dyes obtained into the corresponding ureas. This is done in the simplest way by the action of phosgene. The new dyes dye cotton and regenerated cellulose in predominantly orange-red to red-brown shades. Before known dyes, in the structure of which 1-amino-3-acetylaminobenzene was used instead of 3-aminophenyl ureas, the new dyes are distinguished by superior lightfastness and better etchability.
The 3-aminophenyl ureas used as coupling components can be obtained, for example, by converting 1-amino-3-acylaminobenzene in an aqueous acetic acid solution with phenyl chloro into the urethane, using ammonia or an amine in a neutral to alkaline medium implements. The acylaminophenylurea formed with the elimination of phenol can be saponified to 3-aminophenylurea by heating in an acidic solution.
Example 2 3'57 parts by weight of 4-aminoazobenzene-3,4'-disulfonic acid are di-anotated in a known manner and coupled with 151 parts by weight of 3-aminophenylurea in an acetic acid medium. The aminodisazo dye obtained is converted into urea by the action of phosgene. If no more aminodisazo dye can be detected, the urea formed is filtered off and dried. It is then a brown powder that is easily soluble in water.
The new dye dyes cotton and regenerated cellulose in orange-red tones with very good lightfastness and etchability.
Example 2 357 parts by weight of 4 - aminoazobenzene; 3,4 'disulfonic acid are diano benefits as in Example 1 and combined with 195 parts by weight of N-3-aminophenyl - N' - oxäthylurea. The amino disazo dye is converted to urea with phosgene. The dried dye is a brown-red powder that is easily soluble in water. It dyes cotton and regenerated cellulose in scarlet shades. The colorations are very lightfast and easily etchable.
Example 3 The amino monoazo dye obtained by coupling 2.53 parts by weight of diazotized 1-aminobenzene-2,4-disulfonic acid with 121 parts by weight of 1-amino-2; 5-dimethylbenzene is known in FIG Way diazo- tated and combined in acetic acid solution with 151 parts by weight of 3-aminophenylurea. The amino disazo dye is converted into the urea by introducing phosgene. The dried dye is a brown powder that is easily soluble in water.
It dyes cotton and regenerated cellulose in lightfast and etchable red-brown tones. Example 4 357 parts by weight of 4-aminoazobenzene-3,4'-disulfonic acid are azotized as in Example 1 and combined with 308 parts by weight of N-3 aminophenyl-N'-3-sulfophenyl urea to form the amino disazo dye, which is converted into urea by the action of phosgene.
After drying, it is a brown, water-soluble powder and dyes cotton and regenerated cellulose orange-red. The colorations are lightfast and easily etchable.
Example s The amino monoazo dye obtained by coupling 303 parts by weight of diazotized 2-aminonaphthalene-6,8-disulfonic acid with 10.7 parts by weight of 1-amino-3-methylbenzene is diazotized in a known manner and coupled with 151 parts by weight of 3-aminophenyl urea in acetic acid medium. After being converted into urea by the action of phosgene. the dried dye is an easily water-soluble brown powder.
It dyes cotton and regenerated cellulose brown. The colors are lightfast and can be etched.
Example 6 The amino monoazo dye produced by. Domes of. 253 Weighted, rush diazotized 1-aminobenzene-2; 5-disulfonic acid with 121 parts by weight of 1- amino-2,5-dimethylbenzene he is kept, is diazotized and combined in acetic acid solution with 165 parts by weight of 3-amino-4-methylphenylurea and dureb. Phosgene converted into urea.
The dried dye is a water-soluble brown powder that dyes cotton and regenerated cellulose in lightfast and etchable red-brown shades.
