Clockwork balance and method for its manufacture The present invention relates to a clockwork balance and a method for its manufacture.
The balance according to the invention is characterized by the fact that its rim is provided with an annular inner board to which the ends of the balance arm end, this board being pierced with a series of diametrically opposed balancing holes in pairs and whose axes are parallel to the axis of the balance.
The method is characterized by the fact that there is provided, inside its rim, an annular board to which the ends of the balance arm end, and in said board a series of diametrically opposed balancing holes in pairs is made, whose axes are parallel to the axis of the balance.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the balance which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the first embodiment of the balance.
Fig. 2 is a section taken along line 11-11 of FIG. 1, on a larger scale.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the second embodiment; and fig. 4 is a section taken along line IV-IV of FIG. 3, on a larger scale.
The balance shown in fig. 1 and 2 comprises a serge 1 coming in one piece with an annular board 1a to which the ends of the balance arm 1b end. The board 1a is thinner than the serge 1; it has the same thickness as the arms lb. It is pierced with a series of holes 2 diametrically opposed two by two, uniformly distributed along the rim. These holes, whose axes are parallel to the axis of the balance, are obtained by drilling and allow the balance to be balanced. To this end, some of them are slightly enlarged, proceeding either over the entire height of the hole, or only over part of it, from the underside of the balance, so that nothing is visible on the upper side.
The balancing could also be obtained by adding weights on the balance, in some of the holes 2; these weights can be held in place by riveting or crimping. This arrangement constitutes a simple means of obtaining a balanced balance. without adjustment screw.
In the embodiment of fia. 3 and 4, the rim 3 of the balance is attached to the annular board 4 integrally formed with the arms 4a, and of the same thickness as the latter.

This board is also pierced with a series of holes 5 uniformly distributed along the rim and diametrically opposed two by two, the purpose of which is the same as that of the holes 2 of the first embodiment.
This board 4, with the arm 4a, is obtained by die-cutting. In the embodiment shown, the holes 5 are circular, but they could have a cross section of different shape.
The serge 3 is held in place on the board 4 by an annular crimp 3a. The assembly can also be done by welding. The serge will preferably be obtained by turning. It may be in a material different from that of plate 4.
As a variant, the annular board may have several series of holes distributed over circles of different diameters.
