Roskopf watch In Roskopf watches, a timer wheel is mounted on the barrel and drives the roadway adjusted freely on a tenon fixed in the center of the plate. When setting the time, the timer wheel must be able to turn independently of the barrel, so it is mounted with greasy friction on the barrel, or on its cover. This greasy friction mounting device replaces the lanterning of the carriageways of timepieces with an anchor assortment.
The present invention relates to a Roskopf watch in which, in order to obtain a soft and regular lanterning, an elastic metal washer is interposed between the barrel and a wheel driving the timer, this washer holding said wheel against the barrel, while at the same time. making it possible to rotate with fatty friction with respect to the latter, the watch further comprising means making said washer integral with the barrel. The term barrel is used here in its broad sense, that is to say that it means either the barrel itself, or the barrel cover.
The drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the barrel and of the wheel driving the timer of the Roskopf watch according to the invention.
The single figure is an elevational view, partially in section, of this embodiment. The barrel comprises a drum 1 and a cover 2, the latter being fitted with hard friction in the drum 1. The barrel 1, 2 is freely mounted on the barrel shaft 3, integral with the bung 4. A wheel 5, driving the timer, not shown, is pressed directly against the barrel cover 2, without any light. It has the shape of a toothed disc having a central opening 6 freely adjusted on a bearing surface 7 of the cover 2. Between the cover 2 and the wheel 5 is interposed a steel washer 8 sufficiently elastic to hold the wheel 5 against the cover. 2, without blocking it. This washer 8 can be made of hardened steel or not, or of another metal.
It is fixed to the cover 2 by crushing the material of the cover on the inner edge of the washer 8, thus forming a crimp 9. However, any other method of fixing, for example by means of a threaded ring, could be used. The height of the bearing 7 is less than the thickness of the wheel 5, so that the washer 8, which rests by its inner edge on the shoulder 10 of the cover adjacent to said bearing 7, has its outer edge pressed. down and is therefore slightly under tension. The coupling thus produced between the barrel and the wheel 5 ensures a soft friction, which is sufficient to hold the wheel 5 and does not block it.
Because the wheel 5 is pressed directly against the barrel, this

puts to obtain a low movement, while having a sufficiently high barrel.
When the wheel 5 is fixed on the cover 2, in the manner shown, it is no longer possible to separate the cover from the barrel, by inserting a screwdriver or a burner in the opening usually provided in the cover. This effect, because this opening is hidden by the wheel 5. To obviate this defect, an opening 11 has been made in the drum 1, slightly higher than the total thickness of the cover 2. It is then sufficient to introduce a tool. , for example a screwdriver, in this opening 11 and to act on the cover 2 by resting on the upper edge of the opening 11, and one can thus easily separate the cover from the barrel. The wheel 5 remains integral with the cover 2.
It goes without saying that the wheel 5 could just as well be fixed to the bottom 12 of the cylinder itself 1, instead of to the cover 2.
