Description

The present invention relates to a box of watch with a rotating bezel mounted on a notch on a ring secured to a middle part of the box, and positioning means for holding the telescope in predetermined angular positions, the ring having in cross section a bottom which extends substantially in a radial plane, perpendicular to an axis central of the box, and an outer rim having a external profile on which the telescope is mounted so as to be centered and held in one direction parallel to said axis, the positioning means having teeth arranged on a lower face of the telescope and at least one pawl arranged to engage in the teeth, said pawl being formed by a blade flexible in the direction of said axis.

A watch case fitted with a rotating bezel supported by the middle by means of a ring system is known. For example according to patent CH 677 713, the bezel is held on the middle by a ring metallic L-shaped section with a surface external frustoconical on which the telescope is mounted at notch. This ring has an annular clearance intended to receive a spring ring. Ratchets are cut out in the spring ring and act axially on the lower teeth of the bezel. This toothing is formed by cutouts crossing a lower part of the glasses. This system, although ensuring centering and positioning of the telescope has disadvantages mainly for mounting, because it includes different parts, namely a metal ring now another ring for mounting the glass and itself bearing on its bottom said spring ring to pawls.

It is known from patent CH 631 592 a system of fixing of a rotating bezel comprising on its face lower a bead which is retained by notching on a middle part comprising a similar annular bead. The system also includes a leaf spring attached to the middle. The leaf spring carries pawls which exert axial pressure on the teeth of the telescope, so that the two beads mentioned above are supported one against the other according to a tangency cone and ensure by friction blocking the telescope in position rest. However, this system is not easy to implement because it requires precise machining of the beads on the middle and on the bezel. In addition, the mounting of the bezel is delicate, due to the high rigidity of the bead of the middle.

It is also known from patent CH 665 522 a restraint system for a bezel on a middle by means in one piece with radially acting pawls on a lower surface of said telescope. This action radial does not allow, as opposed to the two patents precedents where the action of the pawls is axial, to obtain pressure on the telescope participating in positioning and holding said bezel by jamming.

The present invention aims to achieve a system fitted with axial pawls and making it possible to mount a notch rotating bezel on a middle. The objective sought is to obtain a manufacture and an assembly of said system relatively simple and inexpensive to implement. Said system provided with pawls must in particular ensure all functions of centering, retaining and angular positioning of said telescope.

To this end, the invention relates to a watch case of the type defined above, characterized in that the blade flexible is made in one piece with the ring, the blade being cut from the bottom of said ring.

Thus the presence of the invention makes it possible to realize set of previously mentioned functions with a single and same ring, in the bottom of which each blade flexible serving as a ratchet can be easily cut. The manufacture of this ring is relatively simple, it is for example easy to manufacture it entirely by stamping. It is also inexpensive to set up. works and allows in particular significant savings of matter and time because its industrial realization is easy. The mounting of the ring on the middle of the watch has the same advantages of simplicity of setting and cost because the ring can, for example, be directly driven onto the middle.

  • la figure 4 est une vue en coupe selon la ligne IV-IV de la figure 3;
Other characteristics and advantages of this invention will appear in the following description of a preferred embodiment of a watch case with a rotating bezel according to the invention, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
  • FIG. 1 represents a partial view in axial section of a watch with a rotating bezel according to the present invention;
  • Figure 2 is a perspective view of the assembly of the ring supporting the rotating bezel;
  • Figure 3 shows the same ring seen from above;
  • Figure 4 is a sectional view along line IV-IV of Figure 3;
  • FIG. 5 is a sectional view along the line VV of FIG. 3, and
  • Figure 6 is a sectional view along line VI-VI of Figure 3.

The middle part 4 has a shoulder 10 in its upper part substantially L-shaped, having a substantially surface cylindrical and vertical 10a and a surface substantially flat and horizontal 10b. Bezel 2 is rotatable around a central axis 11 perpendicular to the upper face 1 box 6. It is made in one piece comprising an upper part, having an upper face 12 and a lower face 14, and a lateral part 16 descending towards the middle 4.

The ring 8 has, in the preferred embodiment, a generally U-shaped cross section of approximately uniform thickness, this section comprising a vertical lateral part 17 (FIGS. 4 and 5) located inside and applied strongly against the vertical surface 10a of the middle part, a horizontal bottom 18 applied to the horizontal surface 10b of the middle part, and an outer side part in the shape of a curved edge whose external profile 20 is characterized by two frustoconical surfaces of opposite inclinations 20a and 20b (Figure 5), thus forming a prominence towards outside.

The shoulder 10 of the middle part 4 is intended for receive the ring 8, the vertical surfaces of the middle part and the ring for mounting the ring 8 while driving directly on the middle. This method of attachment is very fast and avoids the use of pins or other means to prevent rotation of the ring and pawls.

The bezel 2 has on its upper face 12 inscriptions specific to its function and on its face lower a toothing 22, for example comprising sixty teeth distributed around the circumference of the bezel. The lateral part 16 of the bezel present on its face internal two frustoconical surfaces 24a and 24b of opposite inclinations, opposite the frustoconical surfaces 20a and 20b of the ring.

Flexible blades 26, playing the role of pawls, are cut through the flat bottom 18 of the ring 8 and are raised axially, i.e. in the direction from the central axis 11, towards the teeth 22 of the telescope, so that their free ends engage with it by elasticity to ensure the angular positioning of the bezel 2. The axial pressure as the flexible blades 26 exert on the teeth 22 when the bezel is in rest position has the effect of pressing the surface frustoconical lower 24b of its internal face against the lower frustoconical surface 20b of the external profile 20 of the ring.

In this rest position, the telescope 2 is held axially and radially in centered position on the middle part 4 of the case 6 of the watch, and in addition the low taper of the surfaces 20b and 24b ensures a slight jamming which prevents untimely rotation of the glasses. A play then remains between the surfaces upper frustoconical 20a and 24a. The bearer of the watch can position the rotating bezel 2 simply by exerting an axial downward pressure before the turn.

Néanmoins une rotation bidirectionnelle peut être obtenue si l'extrémité libre des lames 26 est coudée vers le fond 18 de la bague 8, comme illustré dans le brevet CH 631 592.Figures 2 to 6 show the ring 8 as described above with, in this embodiment, four flexible blades 26 used as pawls, these blades preferably being diametrically opposite two to two to act simultaneously on the telescope. The end free flexible blades 26 is straight and engages by elasticity in the teeth 22 of the bezel 2, which can then only be rotated in one direction. The direction of rotation is determined by the direction in which the flexible blades 26 and the teeth 22 of the bezel. Nevertheless a rotation bidirectional can be obtained if the free end blades 26 is bent towards the bottom 18 of the ring 8, as illustrated in patent CH 631 592.

Figures 4 and 5 show sections of the ring 8 where we distinguish the external profile 20 characterized by the two frustoconical surfaces of opposite inclinations 20a and 20b. Thus, the rotating bezel 2 can be easily mounted notch over this ring thanks to the elasticity of the ring and / or of the bezel. Figure 4 also shows up one of the flexible blades 26 as well as the opening 28 created in the bottom 18 of the ring by the cutting the blade.

The ring 8 and the rotating bezel 2 can be made of metal, but also of synthetic material. In in addition, the bezel and the middle part can be produced in one or more pieces. The bezel can be removable or no.

The description of the preferred embodiment in the example above shows that the present invention allows for manufacturing and mounting relatively simple and inexpensive to implement. The ring is a relatively simple piece to make industrially, likewise its mounting on the middle part can easily be achieved by hunting. However the ring can be fixed to the middle in another way, by example by gluing or welding. The number of blades flexible 26 can be any, but preferably at less than two for reasons of symmetry of forces exerted on the telescope.
