Timepiece with automatic winding by mass rotating around an axis The object of the present invention is a timepiece with automatic winding by mass rotating around an axis.
This part is characterized by the fact that the latter comprises at least one ball made of heavy material which rolls on a fixed raceway and which is engaged, so as to be able to turn on itself, with the periphery of a rotary support, in light material, rotating around the axis of the mass.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention; fig. 1 is an axial section thereof and FIG. 2, a section through I1-11 of fig. 1.
This embodiment, consisting of a watch, comprises a base-cap 1, a false middle part 2 and a crystal 3 whose rim is clamped between a projection 4 of the base-cap and an outer ring 5. 6 is the movement, mounted on the casing frame 7, which itself rests indirectly on a shoulder 8 of the bottom-cap.
The winding mass consists of a series of balls 9 made of heavy material, for example of a tungsten alloy, rotating freely between the radial fingers 10 of a support 11 in the form of a sector, of a light material, for example of a aluminum alloy ; this support rotates around the axis 12 of the mass, carried by the bottom, and has a pinion 13 meshing with the first mobile 14, carried by the movement of the cog of the winding device.
The balls 9 are engaged in a passage 15 whose bottom 15a, the cover 15b and the wall 15c form raceways for the balls according to the position of the watch.
Of course, the invention is not limited to what is shown in the drawing. In particular, the case could have a bottom distinct from the middle part. As for the upper end of the axis 12, it could be free, instead of entering the movement, the height of the support 11 can then be adjusted for example by a key fixed to said end.
The mass, instead of winding the mainspring of the movement, could also wind the mainspring of the alarm clock or both springs at the same time.
